W_L Posted June 10, 2017 Posted June 10, 2017 Batman is dead! http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/adam-west-dead-batman-star-832264 RIP Adam West, you will be missed for having the campiest TV show of all time. Also, family guy will never be the same without you.
Site Administrator Myr Posted June 10, 2017 Site Administrator Posted June 10, 2017 The camp from that Batman dwarves the camp around here... RIP Adam West, you definitely made your mark sir. He was a playable character in Lego Batman 3. Lots of funny lines in there from him. 1
W_L Posted June 10, 2017 Author Posted June 10, 2017 (edited) @Myr He was campy, but he still was "Batman", all the traits we loved about Batman was still there beneath the "Pow!" and "Bangs!" The 1st time I heard about Adam West or even heard his voice wasn't from the old series, but from Batman TAS, when he guest starred as the "Gray Ghost" the campy hero of TV that inspired DC's animated "darker" Batman series of the 1990's. This scene is the best passing of the torch from one generation to another, it was from this episode that I learned about the older campy series: Edited June 10, 2017 by W_L
Site Moderator drpaladin Posted June 10, 2017 Site Moderator Posted June 10, 2017 Adam West had a hard time professionally after Batman's short run ended. As he said about it, the people doing the hiring "were dinosaurs." He is one of those few in Hollywood you don't hear anyone saying bad things about them. He was one of the good guys in real life and will be missed. 4
Site Administrator Valkyrie Posted June 10, 2017 Site Administrator Posted June 10, 2017 Oh, so sorry to hear. I loved watching Batman when I was a kid. Adam West will always be Batman to me. 3

Bill W Posted June 11, 2017 Posted June 11, 2017 The Batman of my youth is gone. A role that destroyed your career, but to some extent made you immortal. RIP Adam West. 4
Former Member Posted June 11, 2017 Posted June 11, 2017 [bitter sarcasm] Since this topic is about ‘Mayor’ Adam West, shouldn’t it be moved to the Pit too? [/bitter sarcasm]
Site Moderator TalonRider Posted June 11, 2017 Site Moderator Posted June 11, 2017 Here's a link to MeTV.com's story on Adam. Just recently, they've been running a commercial featuring Burt Ward. I imagine at some point soon, MeTV may run a tribute to Adam.
