CassieQ Posted April 7, 2018 Posted April 7, 2018 What the title says. I'm just curious to get everyone's view on it. Would paranormal fiction (ghost, werewolves, etc) be considered to be like a subgenre of Fantasy or a genre all on it's own? I've seen people call it both ways. 2
Brayon Posted April 7, 2018 Posted April 7, 2018 In my opinion, Paranormal is its own genre. Some things can be considered both, like magic, but for the most part, I see it as a standalone. 1
Site Administrator Myr Posted April 7, 2018 Site Administrator Posted April 7, 2018 I'd call Paranormal it's own sub-set of Fantasy. But it is six of one or half-dozen of the other. 3
comicfan Posted April 18, 2018 Posted April 18, 2018 I've always seen it as a subset. Lately there is a lot of bleed over from one set to another. Nothing is black and white anymore, which is a good thing for the most part. 5
Lugh Posted June 22, 2018 Posted June 22, 2018 I think you need a Venn diagram to make that call.... 1 1
