I'm well, thank you, girl. "Not as well", doesn't sound too bad. I've no doubt you'll continue to improve the more you use this new skill. Rome was not built in a day ... or in a month. Popular Post Mikiesboy Posted August 5, 2022 Author Popular Post Posted August 5, 2022 (edited) Now we have monkey pox to add to the mix. Here, men have been asked not to have sex with men. An LGBT+ group has said, "Don't start that business that it's only affecting gay/queer people because even if it were true, it's only a matter of time before others are affected." So far there are 450ish cases in Ontario ... and not much vaccine from what i've read. So stay outta the sandbox people. Edited August 5, 2022 by Mikiesboy 7

Popular Post kbois Posted August 16, 2022 Popular Post Posted August 16, 2022 This is going to be a tough week. Mom went to the hospital yesterday. She wasn't eating or drinking. She refused to get out of bed and her mental status was altered from her usual dementia. This normally indicates a UTI. Sure enough, that's what the culture showed. However, she also tested positive for Covid, which I'm pretty sure she got from my SIL. I was supposed to stay with her 2 Sundays ago but my brother canceled because SIL was congested and had a fever. My brothers and I are in agreement that at 91, there aren’t many options that are feasible for someone her age. She's on antibiotics for the UTI and an antiviral for the Covid. She needs a little bit of oxygen occasionally via nasal cannula. There is a small area on her lungs that they are going to monitor for pneumonia. With her dementia there is a lot of risk with putting her on steroids and even more risk with anticoagulants, which are the other treatment possibilites. So we've said no to the blood thinners and are going to wait to see how she responds to the antivirals before trying steroids. We're just going to take it one day at a time. 4 2

Popular Post kbois Posted August 19, 2022 Popular Post Posted August 19, 2022 A little update. Mom has improved somewhat. She is off of the oxygen and is able to take her meds orally and can eat and drink if she's fed. She was singing/humming. She's qualified for hospice and will most likely be going back to my brother's house tomorrow with those services in place. Mentally I've been prepared for this for a while. Emotionally, it's tough. @mollyhousemouse, I thought of you the other day when my best friend told me about her son's road trip to help out one of his friend's with the driving for his move to San Diego. They wanted to see a few different places along the way and he described the trip as: "Went through CT, NY, PA, WV, saw Nashville, Memphis and New Orleans. Then drove through Texas, and drove through Texas, then drove through Texas before we finally drove through Texas."😆 Pretty sure they had no clue Texas would be half their trip. I hope everyone has a good weekend. 2 4
