Popular Post Headstall Posted March 19, 2021 Popular Post Posted March 19, 2021 So, my son's girlfriend wants to get a puppy(a Labradoodle). She would put a deposit down and be on a six month waiting list. We don't know for sure when the pandemic will end, first of all. We may have to wear masks through next year according to some... and they are never here. They both work long hours... and they are young, so when the pandemic ends they will want to go out for dinner and movies and concerts and the gym, so that would leave me to train this puppy, and quite frankly, they aren't good at being consistent. My son and I are supposed to share Cookie, and she adores him and her, so that would be unfair to her, especially after not being able to play with them all this time. Arghhhh! So, I said no. I told them I wasn't up to looking after their puppy(and I don't believe they are) and I don't agree with leaving a puppy in a crate all day, which they say they are planning to do. I didn't mind taking Cookie out every few hours, but I don't feel like doing it again. It upset me to say no, but I knew it was the right thing. So............. they called me again a few days later and tried again. Frankly, it was very disappointing that my son did that. I told him the first time he was asking too much of me. I think I've done enough for them, and wore myself out doing the basement so they would have a nice place to live... and they already have Cookie, who hasn't been able to interact with them for over a year. I feel like a bad guy. I love dogs... but if this pandemic flares again, I will be stuck with this puppy full time because they won't be able to come into contact with it. Too many unknowns yet... but I think they are mad at me.... 1 2 6

It's currently (3:20pm) 15°C/59°F here. And feeling even warmer in the sunshine (and lack of wind). I'm actually gardening with no extra layers on my upper body for the first time this year. Just a T-shirt. 6

Sure, the son and his girlfriend may be disappointed ,but that's just the way life is sometimes. 6 2

Hope you're all having good weather in your part of the world as well. Nice spring day here too. Sunny with 13°C. I went shopping for a few things. Dad had asked me to buy him a couple of underwear as he had throw away a couple that were lets say very well used and as an equity thing for non essential shops that will be closed all non essential alleys (all types of clothes such as underwear, tights, socks... except for kids under size 3yo, all makeup things, pens and paper stuff...) in grocery shops will be close starting tomorrow morning. I also got myself work pants to wear when I'm working in the garden. Lidl had some especially for women. I took them red with patches of black and some grey flowers detail on tbe pockets. I wanted brown but for women it was only red or green. Oh and I also bought a scarer that make flashes of light and high frequency noises to scare away animal such as cats, dogs and rodents there. Hopefully it'll work on the cats and they wont be pooping in my vegetables patch anymore Edited March 19, 2021 by clochette 4 1

As long as they deserted the garden patch which is the goal. For a week now, every morning I find dirty traces of paws in the shower. Meaning one of them is cleaning his paws before going to bed 1 5

He's likely catching a bit of grief from the girlfriend and so to shut her up he called you to broach the subject again. She's probably unhappy not to get what she wants and put him in the middle. 1 7

She's a sweet girl, but she would never take Cookie out as a puppy... she doesn't like the dark... it's too cold... she doesn't have boots.... I'm okay now... well... I'm better about the whole thing. What they are asking is too much, especially with the pandemic and the fact I'm concentrating on keeping my old mare going, and keeping Cookie from being depressed. I have the right to say no. 1 7

Site Administrator Popular Post Valkyrie Posted March 19, 2021 Site Administrator Popular Post Posted March 19, 2021 So I headed out this afternoon to check out some local antique malls. Literally right before the driveway of the first place I stopped, I saw flashing lights in my rearview mirror I was stopped for an expired inspection sticker It seriously never occurred to me to check the date of my last inspection At least he was really nice and said the court's been dismissing inspection tickets as long as I have it done within a week and send proof of the inspection when I mail in the ticket. So I have an appointment on Monday. 7

So I have an appointment on Monday. I assume the "inspection" is a safety check of the car - similar to our National Car Test (NCT), or the Ministry of Transport (MOT) test in the UK. I'm just surprised they don't contact you before your next test. They certainty do here in Ireland, and I'm fairly sure they do in the UK, as well. Now get that vehicle inspected, Val! Otherwise you'll have @dughlas accusing you of not being legal, same as he did to me last week (I think it was dugh...). 2 5
