Due to variant 🔺️ and a rise of positive cases making us fear a 4th wave some decisions have been made: - people working in medical and social fields have until September 15th to get vaccinated. After that date they'll expose themselves to sections still to be defined. - starting July 21st a sanitary pass (a certificate of full vaccination or a certificate of having been positive or a negative test) will be mandatory to access all cultural places open to 50 people or more. This will be extended to shopping malls, coffee shops, restaurants, visiting hospitals/nursing homes and long distance plane/train/bus travels. He made it clear that if by this autumn the number of vaccinated people and the number of positive cases haven't gone down enough and the 4th wave is hitting us then he isn't above taking tough decisions meaning making vaccination mandatory for all without exceptions or last resort another lockdown which would clearly be the fault of those refusing the vaccin. It seems to have had an effect as less than 30 minutes after the end of his speech the website to book a vaccin appointment had registered over 20 000 bookings! I know it's controversial, but we are in a GLOBAL health emergency with people still dying in droves around the world. Tough is not only good, I think it is needed. I respect peoples' rights to make their own decisions but come on! If you don't want to get vaccinated, then you should expect there has to be personal limitations. 99.5% of all covid deaths are those without vaccinations. Meanwhile, the rest of us who have been vaccinated still have to hold our breath over whether the next variant allowed to mutate will be the one that puts us back to square one. So I commend France and her president. I would like to be able to go into a building with other people and know everyone has been vaccinated. 5 1

Neither of us remember my grandmother making a gooseberry pie but clearly remember her enjoying the fruit itself. Does it require more fruit than other berries? They had a ginormous mulberry tree that was great to climb (and to pick fruit when ripe although we had old clothes for that). She made pies from that but never the gooseberries… Doesn't require more fruit. Maybe more sugar (depending on the ripeness of the gooseberries. 5

Marty Posted July 13, 2021 Posted July 13, 2021 (edited) I'm off to bed. Good night, all. I think I'll leave you all with this one tonight. Sadly, with all the news about climate change, wildfires, melting of the polar ice, and the like, I am beginning to wonder if Bowie is maybe being a bit optimistic when he says we've got five years... Luckily, no-one was injured, and it didn't seem to detract from the number of merry-makers at the fairgrounds. On Sunday morning, all of the rides, booths, kiosks, etc, had packed up and moved to another town on their route. The faulty machine was shipped back to the factory in Ohio for inspection and maintenance. 5 1

Flu vaccination has been compulsory for staff and visitors but COVID was not mandated. Except for visitors that is, so I couldn’t see Dad but the staff could be there without vaccination. They seem to have fixed that now. 2 4

They are robust creatures and some live in the alpine region and some on the beach. They did have a bit of a snow storm… just before an outbreak so the snow fields were closed. All of that is on the east coast. On this side of the country, if the small blip of a mountain range gets a cup full of snow, it’s on front page of the paper and all the news headlines 5 1
