The phrase "Other people's children" is around for a reason. Even my own drive me up the way on a daily basis. There are upsides and downsides to being a parent, as I am sure there are the same for not being one. It's a tough subject to broach when there are complications involved, even when you are only thinking to yourself about it. Hugs. As for my Christmas, the 4 day weekend was an odd mix of busy and quiet, but all in all it was a nice time. I got my netbook from Comcast finally and got to fiddle with it on Christmas, it is fun for me, I even got to take it out with me today so I could write while the children played at an indoor jungle gym. I got a nice laptop backpack to keep it, so I am set to be an on the go person again, no longer chained to my home computer! I hope that the things you did want outweigh the things you didn't want, both materially and emotionally!

Hey all! First, thanks to everyone who had read and reviewed my story. Unfortunately the link to the first chapter got corrupted and I had to remove the story and resubmit each chapter. I keep all the great comments and reviews in my head though, so thanks again! I just wanted to let everyone know why it changed and they all went away. Of course we don't. I have loved the journey reading what your characters are going through. I think you are quite discreet when called for and any scenes that are risque for one reason or the other are integral to the story. I can't wait to see the first draft in a cohesive whole. I have to agree with leshwar, your stories are unique and intriguing, each and every one that I have read. I am glad that you decided to continue with Monday...or whatever it will be called

Aww...I'm 28 going on 38 some days...most people just assume I'm older. That was cute when I was 20, now, not so much! Course most of the people I hang out with are 35+, so I guess it just rubs off on me by association...yeah, I'm going with that!

Well, 2 answers to your comments there..I'm a firm believer in learn by doing! Nothing says you have to keep the story on GA or even keep it the way it is after you get comments, the edit feature is quite handy You can also try putting out feelers for beta readers too, if you want opinions on your story before you post it, I know several of us do that. 2nd thing, in regards to sex scenes...yeah, they are great for adding spice and I've noticed increased readership in chapters with them I believe it must be integral to the story and believable to really add the interest. I'm nothing if not turned off a story by seemingly random sex scenes added in just because it's getting a little boring. Good luck!

I had a lot of the same questions before I started posting TPoH. I write what I like, but I am just sharing my first ever story with anyone here on GA. I've gotten great reviews and encouragement. I think the answer to your question with wordiness is just to try it out and see. Also I edit all my own stuff. I have found that I write with a formal sound, even more than I speak at times, so I read my chapters out loud. If it doesn't flow as I speak it, I try to reword it, sometimes more formal, sometimes less. Sometimes you just have to take a deep breath and make that leap, let us read something! You can always post it in the sneak peeks section if you are not ready to post a story in efiction yet. Good luck

OMG! Thank god I was never a teenage boy! Jeez...the issues with you guys in the locker rooms! We girls got showered communally, got dressed, did our hair and make-up and went to our next class. I think the focus was more on showering as quick as possible to have enough time to do the hair/make-up thing, but honestly after the first class in 7th grade it was no big deal. There were times I enjoyed the view, but all in all, nudity was no big deal. Good thing, the average gym towel was only the size of a hand towel where I went to school, lol.

As I am completely non-techie I am amazed at all of the work that the admin and mods put in here on GA. Thanks to Graeme, Steph and Shadowgod for their hard work on the anthology section, it's wonderful!

Yay! Finally...I've been looking for this for days! I really liked this chapter, the questions that were raised about the phone calls and the emotional highs and lows from the boys coming out made for a very interesting chapter. I can't wait for the next one when they go back to school. I just wish they were more proactive about the possible attack, but I'm a type A personality like that... I'm not the type to sit back and just wait for trouble to come. Okay..now since you were a few days late with this update, you have to be a few days early with the next one!! Right? Please?
