Truly wonderful read. I too did the "meet a bloke half way around the world". In our case it was eastern canada/southern australia; 28 hoirs flying each way. Two trips each each year. After three years I moved there, only for him to get a job in Australia. 19 years later we are still together. Great characters. Too many bloody dogs! Thanks.

Drew's mum has done more to restore those children than just about anythinģ any parent or carer figure has ever down for them. Great story. Enjoying Drew's character development along the way... Nb small typo; the next door neighbour changes sex about half way down the page "Mr Pugh smiled..."

Well, I have almost got over that they live in Toronto...😘 Great story with wonderfully curious ending. Glad Jenn ended up with Aiden; seemed a natural fit. Famillies; surviving them is one of the true wonders of the human condition. Looking forward to whatever you write next. Many thanks for sharing your talent.

I've lived in Montreal, Winnipeg, Victoria bc, and Ottawa. All were better than tronna. I did also lived in Calgary....yes, tronna is better than Calgary, but thats not saying much!

Excellent chapter moving towards the epilogue. As far as loose ends; 1. Reconciliation by his mother would seem contrived...that will happen, but it will take years. 2. Toronto based? Please anywhere else! 3. It would be nice if some(emphasis on some, 1 or 2 perhaps ) of the homophobes in the team came out and admitted their homophobia was a consequence their own internalized battles with same sex attraction 4. It would be nice if Jenn found a friend. She has been one of the most sane and down to earth characters this entire story! There that's my tuppence worth! Great read. Thanks.

Bloody well written chapter. Every emotion hit exactly the right note. I had a very anglo-saxon relationship with my father. When he died I too wondered about the unanswered questions , but quickly realised that if they hadnt been answered in the first 50 ish years of my life, there was no reason to suspect they were ever going to be answered.

Two points; wasting bloody good champagne on mimosas is a true crime! A bar that doesn't take cards? In 2018? Even in my party years a couple of decades ago, if a bar didn't take cards for individual drinks, they'd all put your card behind the bar and run a sort of tab!😁 Other than that, great read. I love the constant battle between wanting to do and see "culture" and other less noble sightseeing! Thanks!

As a parent of two boys, I find the reaction of Noahs parents completely unfathomable. Now I realise I am reading a novel, but I also it does reflect what happens in the real world, it still doesn't help me understand why a parent could react like that to their own child. I can imagine feeling disappointed, fearful, annoyed, frustrated at things my child did but ultimately there is a stronger bond that makes you bite your lip and move on, helping, consoling, celebrating, comforting or protecting them as required. Great writing. Hopefully people like Noahs parents will soon only be found in fiction.

If Sebastian was found dead in aan alley, I'd need a cast iron alibi... 4. The Aiden and Jenns of this world keep it spinning on its axis. Great read, thanks.

One day Noah will realise that coming out to parents, friends and colleagues is a whole lot less stress than living like this....but until then, his life will remain very messy and very stressful. Poor bugger

Well that certainly brought heaven back to earth! Perhaps a time for brutal honesty with dearest mother. Of course it won't be, he'll prevaricate, procrastinate and generally piss everyone off! The weekend in the country sounded ideal!

Danny has had the most major cultural shift. Things now are 180 degrees better than they have ever been, so the first test, when things go wrong, as they will at some point in some way, will be a true test of his new self and his coping abilities. Sure to be an interesting read! Thanks
