    Chapter 1

Norah is the kind of sister anyone would love to have. She understands everything about second chances at the most opportune times. Thanks for the Christmas gift.
  5. I don't seem to fit anywhere except at 13... er... I mean 17.
  6. I agree with Matt, no point in blowing this out of proportion: 9 voters against interracial married couples among a congregation of 40 regular members...Using the term "Church" makes it sound like it has a nation-wide impact. That said, the decision is utterly stupid and stinks of 19th century standards, as Bill points out.
  7. I think Jian was being cheeky
  8. Happy birthday, Tim! Enjoy your day
  9. I am all for this idea Jian's visit is subject to evil red tape like visas and stuff but otherwise September sounds like the best bet. With enough notice, I can come up with a nice programme. John, you really are an evil overlord in training! This is your post #666!
  10. Very nice
  11. Happy birthday, sweetie Getting older is the blessing That transforms you into a kid with more experience And turns your dreams into reality. Have a year filled with smiles Did I mention I love your smile?
  12. Great to hear from you. University does take some adjusting. Keep your feet on the ground and don't be scared of what's in front. For many people these are the best years in life. Find the time and the peace of mind to enjoy them
  13. Glad you had a good time, and so terribly jealous that you two can meet relatively often despite the distance.
  14. Happy birthday!!
  15. I think Aximili might have a point here. That was my first thought when I read your recollection of the event too. In any case, the comment itself was less than nice and totally undeserved. You were right to vent; friends will always come to the rescue
  16. Belated birthday wishes, KC. Glad to see that you had an awesome day.
  17. Happy birthday Nephy Take this time to relax and enjoy the day
  18. Very nice start, and the inner voice of a 15 year-old is quite believable. Looking forward to the next chapters.
  19. Happy birthday, Mark Enjoy the year to come!
  20. Ok, I guess I should say a few words here since I have been in that situation. First, there are enough differences between M/M and F/M sex that comparisons don't constantly jump to your mind. And if it is a raw sexual scene, desire will overwhelm your character and the memory of his wife will be but a mental connection at the back of his mind. Second, It all depends on how you present things. If your character thinks about feelings, emotions and love, it will be deflating, if it is just about specific sexual acts I doubt it would. If you haven't already, read St-st-stuffed. If I remember correctly, Paul burst in tears while holding the watch his wife gave him because it represents her love for him. No such drama during sex : she is wholly absent from that picture (as she should be). Anyta was spot-on with Paul's feelings in that story.
  21. I'm still very much enjoying your story. So far I liked the way you made us feel like the action was taking place all around Ryan, while he was either scared or clueless or both. But this time, he's actually stepping up to the plate or being pushed in centre stage (hmm, two different metaphors here, nvm). Oh... and nice cliffhanger!
  22. Very inspiring. I think anyone who has spent his/her teenage years and twenties in the closet can relate to this: feeling both hurt by the casual bullying and gay-bashing that goes on in the sports world or in school, and guilty for not stepping up against it, the silent suffering that leads to suicidal thoughts... I recommend both the video and the article.
  23. Happy birthday, Maria! *big hugs*
  24. Were you able to move on a bit from that tragedy over the last three years? Did time heal any wounds? I am not assuming this is easy, but I know from experience that sometimes we don't see progress even where there is actually some kind of progress. Take care, Tim
  25. I didn't see that one coming, even though his "It gets better" video was quite emotional, if I remember correctly.
