It's gonna be a long project and there will be cost overruns if Marc and Sawyer can't keep their hands and lips focused on work!!! We may not have found hidden treasure in the passageway but there were some 'stolen moments'.... Aunt May, you need to can your foolish pride...Having cared for elderly parents, there's no such thing as a simple fall and a "I'm fine" retort...the next one she may not come back from, time to see the doctors...Sounds like a job for Bruce...

Well done and very enjoyable, I concur with @drpaladin and @scrubber6620 wholeheartedly..., Timok if he has to accompany Essell and Garajh, shouldn't he be left back at the landing site polishing the chrome on the spaceship...not forgetting to wash n wax as well... It would be nice to see a sequel at some point where they establish residence on Adra.... Thanks for all your hard work....

With this story we are given a chance to revisit Ravello, a place most of us think of as a home away from home, to catch up on some old friends as we watch them grow and struggle as we all do with life in general. The Star In My Eye is an intriguing story of Angelo and Gianni as they foster young Sami, a young boy orphaned in terrible circumstances.

Snort...ooops I mean laughing so hard I gotta visit the the you know where...

While it will sound trite to say so...all's well that ends' well. I won't disagree that in some manner, way, or form...Gianni was in over his head with Sami, as I've noted in previous comments. I feel that in many ways he was overwhelmed with the responsibility of creating a relationship with Sami, a boy he hardly knew, as contrasted with Marco. I have no doubts that Marco is in a much better place with Angelo and Gianni as Sami is a better fit with Reza and Tiziana, least of all the cultural aspect and connection. Not to say that Sami just may end up with a casual connection to his faith, but given a better chance to explore what it would mean to him. Had Sami come to Gianni and Angelo at a much younger age, it just may have worked out, a stronger bond developed, but we can only deal with what we know. I give Gianni all the credit in the world to realize his limitations and to ensure the best possible outcome for Sami. As to Marco, I strongly suspect that there is a diamond in the rough, just waiting to be discovered. He's a survivor, someone who was able to overcome obstacles despite his upbringing. Given the chance to spread his wings, to grow without fear or repercussions. I look forward as he blossoms into the fine young man that I know he'll become!!!

One of the hardest things to do is to convince hormonal, trapped in puberty, teens that if you take a moment and a deep breath...it does get better when all you can see or think of, is your world collapsing behind you..

We are all so much richer for knowing Mawgrim, one of the most talented writers here or at any other story site. A true gentleman and a wise soul. You will be greatly missed and godspeed...

Did you mean topping??? Ha ha ha!!!! I freaking loved this chapter and Bruce...what a delight to meet him, he'll cut a very wide swath thru town and I strongly suspect he's about to become a full time resident... The mill is a work of art to say the least and a great picture...

A very sad but realistic chapter...I hope both find some peace in their souls...

All in all one of the best chapters yet...just because the box of tissues is next to me does not mean I was using them...😉

Angelo really does know how to reach Gianni, he's the balm to his soul. Gianni has some unresolved memories/issues/acceptance due to his broken childhood. He's wistful when he sees' how open Sami is with others. I worry for Marco, Lorenzo worries me in that he may do more than simply verbally confront his son...Gemma is stuck and she knows it, fearing her husband as she believes/knows she has nowhere to go...there's no easy answer or cure for Marco, the years of abuse will take as many if not more, to be able come out of his childhood in a good place... Dani confessing to kissing Giaco, how will the experiment affect the triangle of friends... I think that Angelo and Gianni's decision to stay the course with Sami will pay dividends, it is going to take time to finally settle into a family unit!! I loved the fireworks between them after they left the restaurant...BTW...that waiter should be regulated to washing dishes and taking out the trash for a week or two...

Chapter 1.3 - The Fog over Lake Marron
drsawzall commented on Simon Iskander's story chapter in Chapter 1.3 - The Fog over Lake Marron
Rich can't solve this on his own...he needs help -
Dear lord in heaven...my head wants to explode with the duplicity, shenanigan's, and the goings on behind Grainger's back... The only cure is another chapter...pronto...please and thanks?? The Duke of Suffolk, dear old Dad...nice to not discuss family matters with your son, concerning his grandson and a possible name change... Caroline by her absence has further condemned herself...politically she has shot herself in the food with the awkward attempt to change her son's name... Could it be part of a greater plot, of course it is, to somehow abrogate Lord Heathford's will? Am I wrong in my understanding that not only the title goes to young Alexander Grainger but the bulk of the estate as well??? Are the Havershams tied into the Guild??? Lord Crawden??? Lord Rowley??? Inquiring minds want to know the connections betwixt all of these reprobates... St Vincent, got the comeuppance he so richly deserved, even if it leaves Grainger landlocked, it does give him time to ,sort things out, or will St Vincent ship him off to the Indies to get him out of the way out of spite...Anyhoo...St Vincent publicly stepped into a huge pile of poo.... Lord Eldon...he's looking for something that is just out of reach...and Grainger can open that door he needs opened... Now for my biggest fear...Freddie and Davinia have gambled away, not only their wealth, but it has come to the point that the Duke of Suffolk is hard put to pay off their debts...and again,is the Guild somehow behind all of this?? Personally, I would leave Caroline just where she is till I had a better understanding of her motives, the same with the Duke of Suffolk, I would reach out to his mother for some insight and Cavendish as well...It is also past time for Grainger to assume more responsibility for young Alexander, time to remove him from the clutches of his mother... It is well past the time for Grainger to meet with Lady Kendall's solicitors and understand her bequest... BTW, where in the heck is Bertie in all of this, can't remember if he is local, in the Caribbean, or somewhere else... So many loose threads...We need another chapter or three ASAP Lord Arbor...

Well now...lots of red herrings in this chapter... The expensive coffee pot implodes after a tough...poor baby...night... I've always though $20 dollar Mr Coffee pots made as good a cup of coffee as the yuppie/DINK expensive, do everything but give you head, coffeemaker expensive extravaganza... After forcibly, orally injecting two cups of coffee, a big/humongous/greasy breakfast, home fries included with an extra rasher of bacon to go with the sausage, should have been a must...Rachel is a dear...and believe me folks, she knows exactly what makes Marc's john thomas stand up...it's only purient speculation, but could Rachel play for the same team as Marc and has an eye only for the ladies??? Late or early, Sawyer knew exactly when Marc arrived One has to wonder as to the nature of the secret room/'passageway...and why it was closed up... I'm not to worried as to Sawyers weekend guest, all the signs so far, to date ...would indicate one or the other, friend or former playmate...considering how strong Sawyer is coming on to Marc... Just what is/was the source of tension between Finn and his grandfather, and for that matter Finn and Sawyer??? And...WTF is the story with Marc's occasional/seldom seen parents...and the (expensive no??) lifestyle they seem to lead...it must F with Marc's head... Nearly forgot to mention, I would have left slow acting poisoned doggie treats for Mrs Kennerdale's little yapper...well once the job was finished...maybe...possibly...depending if I had a morning like Marc's... This is getting worthy of a Alfred Hitchcock film treatment...Oh...and Marc...would you please pull your head out of your ass???

There always has to be at least 1 A-Hole in the press and good on Randy and Kathy!!

I'm reminded of the quote, " Greater love hath no man that he lay down his life for his brother"...While Dan may not have thought about all the implications, he gave the full measure of effort when it came to Sam...

Snow in Ravello on Christmas Day, and what a treat for all. Troubles, worries, and cares temporarily set aside. A no quarter given snowball fight enjoyed by all. Photographic memories captured as all explore the winter wonderland of the gardens. Sami has made a connection with Reza and Tiz and has an overnight coming up and Marco remains a bit unsettled. The intervention with his parents remains a concern, there's much to their backstory that we don't know. I just hope they arent setting off fireworks.... Only 2 chapters left and lots of ground to cover....all in all a delightful chapter...

Well, seeing as how the lack of self-control is not working so admirably for either one of them...anyone want to lay odds as to how long it will take for the fireworks signaling their mutual conjugation...

After the G.A.R. Meeting Was Over
drsawzall commented on Refugium's story chapter in After the G.A.R. Meeting Was Over
Sounds like Ritter had the booze goggles on.... -
I think the boys are blessed on one hand and and remain concerned that they may accidently out themselves...

Gianni...WTF were you thinking???? Talk about setting yourself up, an incredibly irresponsible series of poor decisions concerning the menu... While I can understand the reasons and his needs to have a meal from his memories and happier times, the whole episode called for a little bit of discretion and substitution of some food choices... All in all a wonderful chapter despite Gianni being his own worst enemy...at times...at least the brussel sprouts weren't a disaster...

And as so many point out...it does get better...let's hope Robbie has learned a lesson rather than crawling back under the rock from whence he came...
