Well now, we've seen nearly an entire gamut/emotions of reactions to this chapter and I can only conclude that all of these inhabitants of this story truly deserve each other. I find not a scintilla of evidence that any of these denizens had any redeeming qualities... Truly a beggars banquet for the fellowship of the miserable I've lost any respect for Seth...he's proving in his own unique way, as @Summerabbacat would have it, a worthy twin to his, runt with a capital C, to his sister. Damn,” he moaned when he pulled out. “That was awesome, Seth.” I stood and smiled at him. “Feel good?” I asked. At the moment, I felt that I would do anything to please Craig. I could never express it, but I felt I might be falling in love with him. If I were a betting man, prom night should prove climatic

Wow...simply stunning, talk about food for thought, much to ponder here

Time to count your blessings, do I get a hint that Fiona and dear old dad might/may seek some adult comfort/understanding/canoodling time together???

The issue with the grandfather could be stress related but I would not rule out subterfuge....

There's no doubt...this is a YA novel... “You know, the way you put that makes it all sound like a lame YA novel you can only find online.”” Perhaps we should at birth of a male child or at least before the onset of puberty, perform reversible vasectomies' and see if we can't skip that hormonal fustercluck to a later age...

Well it is long over due, it just might possibly be too late for any serious corrective action...

I would not be surprised if there are a few more adoptions...soon!!!

Rugby, Telescopes, Champagne
drsawzall commented on Sean J Halford's story chapter in Rugby, Telescopes, Champagne
Well this chapter had it all and I had to choose angry as my emoticon, it infuriates me when folks don't think before opening one's mouth. The damage one can do when holding antiquated notions... I have to say tho...the following sorta summed up what I find to be remarkable about the boys... It would be easy to imagine that, as far as things physical were concerned, Chris and I went from zero to two hundred miles per hour… especially with a vacation ahead of us with no parents interfering. But it didn’t happen that way. It went very slowly. And it didn’t seem to bother either of us. We were still courting each other that autumn: there was a shyness in everything, even as the contours of his body became as familiar to me as my own. Something had deepened too, as we shared our secrets with each other, him anguishing over his parents’ break-up, me trying to make sense of a lake of sorrows of which I had yet to plumb the depths. It was difficult to decide whether we were behaving as best friends or as lovers. One moment we’d be in the car staring dreamily into each other’s eyes, the next we’d be tossing a ball about on the beach like any two friends our age. It didn’t matter—it all felt good. That and I never liked blue slush puppies either... -
I have to agree with @Mattyboy, I like how both Chris and Cal aren't rushing into anything defining or definitive, that the relationship they are enjoying is growing slowly, becoming friends and equals. The world is their oyster if they keep this connection, growing! Loved the following and I had to highlight plangent...loved the use of that word...well done!! My tone became plangent. ‘I’m scared neither straight nor gay people are going to, you know, get me. Like I can’t be trusted. I was watching this episode of Sex and the City with my sister, where one of the girls dates a bi guy and her friends say “bisexuality is just a layover on the way to Gay Town.” Are you scared I’m going to cheat on you with—another woman?’ ‘No, stupid,’ he said, smiling kindly. ‘Well, not any more than you’d cheat on me with another guy. Being true…fidelity? Fidelity, yeah, it’s not related to what makes your dick hard.’ ‘I know.’

Grandfather Lloyd needs to remember to play nice, talk to people not at people, and to remember others like to play in the sandbox as well... Alice Springs is another site on my bucket list... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alice_Springs

An astute observation, and at the risk of being pedantic, it's those who profess their holiness the most that are the least, nothing worst than someone who cherry picks scripture...
-
@Dan South, Thanks, we often get caught in a trap of thinking the past is just that, not understanding the valuable lessons that await us...

Young love is a brightly burning incandescent flame... I don’t quite remember cycling home, I was in such a heady blur of happiness. I knew nothing about the world, but I knew everything about the universe.

The Gospel According To Chris, Part 1
drsawzall commented on Sean J Halford's story chapter in The Gospel According To Chris, Part 1
This was very interesting to read and I feel it worked well... Then again...the heart wants what the heart wants... -
I wish this was around a few decades or so ago when I was babysitting my obnoxious nieces and nephews...get them all wound up and scared and leave 'em with my equally obnoxious sister...

Could it be morning sickness and These young men will be leaders in whatever future endeavors they find themselves in!!! The flight home for the boys wasn’t as exciting as the flight to Europe. They were becoming international travelers.
-
Well now...what sort of adventures await the boys???

I think there is so much more to enjoy in this story than the interactions with the Chinese. Most of the time Quokka takes us on a series of exceptional tours, of what makes Australia so unique and enticing. Living here in Massachusetts, I've always dreamed of going to see the wonders of Australia. Kakadu National Park is one such gem, it is a testament to getting things right, correcting wrongs of past generations. For the philistine's among us, spend 5 to 10 minutes exploring the link below... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kakadu_National_Park Once again, thanks Quokka for sharing some of what makes your home so unique...

The points brought up in this chapter are valid and reasonable...One can sense the frustration Mac is feeling, to wit... “So, I can’t do this with you?” “No, I’m afraid not.” “Damn, I can’t wait until I’m a skinwalker and we can do these things together.”
