  1. Happy Birthday, Cia!
  2. Night Shift I don’t do blind dates anymore. I’ve learned the hard way, is all I’m going to say. I also avoid all those happily involved friends, when they get this special twinkle in their eyes. ‘I know just the right man for you!’ (Insert saccharine smile here) No, thank you! But then my friend Vincent from the night shift caught me in the elevator. I was just explaining to a colleague why I was staying home on a Friday night, and boom, now I wasn’t because suddenly I had a blind date. I mean
  3. Welcome to GA, Andy.
  4. Vampire! Could a vampire visit the Lonely Heart Club? I only have another chapter of L&F to finish, and the antho story and then...

  7. Ha, I'm still using 7 on my desktop pc. I have 8.1 on my laptop and it took me so long until I had it how I liked it. Well, I still don't like it. I will update to 10 on both next year. You guys test it for me.
  8. I have a collection of piano versions of my favorite songs. Here is my latest find: Shots (Acoustic Piano) Imagine Dragons
  9. When I first found this I declared it mine and even bought the t-shirt. You must still have chaos within you to be able to give birth to a dancing star. (Friedrich Nietzsche) And there is still this: Science is organized knowledge. Wisdom is organized life. (Immanuel Kant)
  10. Why didn't I answer this? I'm so sorry Suvitar. Thank you for reading RRS, reviewing every chapter and even telling me it's a wonderful story. THANK YOU!

    I Say No!

I am embarrassed and ashamed. I hoped that people in my country would never say things like ’Fucking niggers! Let them drown. We should burn them.’ ever again. But they do. Out in the open, not hidden anymore in some back room. And they do more. They burn down refugee homes, they organize torch parades, they post hate speeches on facebook and other the social medias. We are a democracy. They are allowed to do at least some of this. But I say No! Loud and clear. I neither tolerate nor accept racists. You may ask why I’m doing this here. I saw a comment by Anja Reschke yesterday. She asked us to say no and that is what I do. For those who speak German, here is what she said.
  14. Thank you, LBO! I don't know how many times I watched this scene... I'm glad you liked it.

  16. Thank you, AC! What a wonderful comment. It made my day. I felt like a real poet. *hug* Yay!
  17. Do you remember home, my beloved? Rolling green hills with meandering streams, the orchards in blossom, the smell of spring, the taste of ale and strawberries with cream. There is no color, no sound of water, only black and grey and clouds of Sulphur. There is nothing but fire. No further. I’m naked. Nothing between me and him. We made it this far. Let’s finish it here. Together as one, nothing can stop us. I give you my legs, my strength, and my heart. And you give us back hope
  18. Thank you, Tim.
  19. Cecil was an African lion who primarily lived in the Hwange National Park in Matabeleland North, Zimbabwe. On 1 July 2015, he was shot to death by an American dentist and big-game hunter, Walter James Palmer, who had wounded him with an arrow two days earlier. Cecil's death resulted in international outrage and condemnation. (wikipedia) Killer of Cecil the lion was dentist from Minnesota, claim Zimbabwe officials Cecil had a rare black fringed mane and has been studied by scientists from the Wildlife Conversation Research Unit in Oxford since 2008. He became famous and with that obviously a trophy. This is not about where the hunter came from or even about hunting, but how unscrupulous trophy-hunters from all over the world flout the law to kill for their record books, not thinking or not caring about the consequences. Even the consequences for themselves. I know it's 'in dubio pro reo', so either this man is lying or he is incredible stupid and blind (Cecil wore a collar), in which case he should really not bow-hunt.
  20. Hail our editors!
  21. Many people learn English as their second language today. When we visit another country, we speak English instead learning French or Italian, much easier. It doesn't need to be perfect. The important thing is that we understand each other. Writing is a totally different matter, especially if we want to publish stories, at least for me. I want it to be as perfect as it can be. Thanks for Grammar Rodeo. @ Mann I don't think learning English is more difficult than German, just different. And who wants to learn German anyway, lol.
  22. Sending positive thoughts to you, Lenny. Come back soon.
