I feel like you are going to get a lot of mixed reviews with your story, but I'm entranced. What wonderful writing and descriptions of inner feelings. I've one writer here that I just read for his great imagery, which I need to catch up on. I'm so behind. But, back to you. I'd say, keep your descriptions of the relationship in a comfortable place for you and your readers. I don't mean take away from your story. Just be tasteful and make your readers appreciate your writing and the emotions you write. JMO. I love it!

The underlying turmoil in this chapter read like a "brushfire". I was hot just reading it. What a way to end a day. Your best friend gives you advice that you know is true, but your inner self pushes you in the opposite direction. Fitz opened the gate though

I was right. didn't take away from my enjoyment of the sweet Christmas story. Now, I hate that it's over and just have to imagine Chris and Frank's journey from here on.

Basil had already alienated himself before Will came along. What will the loss of a limb do to his emotions, his confidence that Will has helped him regain? Will's tears are understood, not just for Basil's loss, but fear of the unknown. The next chapter should be heartbreaking as well. I'm sure when Basil finds out the after effects of the attack, things will change. Can't wait for more. Love it

Never thought someone tripping a geriatric in a round about way would be funny, but I had to laugh. Great take on the prompt. BTW, the scene in the living room could be the scene in a million teen oriented movies. Mom and Dad can't watch us all the time. -

I'm so glad to see Ryan and Will back, and of course, "The Purpose." I love how he annoys the hell out of Will. So, Barrington is back out on the streets. The good thing now is he'll have to deal with Will and Ryan. I'd say the odds are in our boys favor. This was a great surprise to wake up to this morning.

As a reader, and just a regular author, you're doing all the right things. You're mentioning your chapter in your status, you have a discussion thread, and you're putting the word out there that you have a story. And it a damn good first chapter if I may say so.
