Ahh, poor Cavendish. I can certainly understand his reluctance to wed a Lady Elgin clone. Love the Hornblower gossip.

I feel sorry for the Cupek crew who died because their captain was an idiot. And I'd never trust an A.I. who casually blow up a space ship. Clever reasoning about the book.

Lol, I was wondering about my magnets too. But I fear they can find even crazier stuff to do than watching TV.

Ugh, I hate clocks that tick, when I'm trying to sleep. But you made me feel sympathy for the alarm clock and I was pleased he got bought by someone who appreciated him. Wonderful story.

July C S R Discussion Day: Reece's Choice by Renee Stevens
Timothy M. commented on Cia's blog entry in Gay Authors News
Interesting, I didn't think they were proceeding too fast, and I liked the way Reece considered the issue before sex, the L word, moving in with Dave, meeting the parents etc. At times he held back, but mostly he acted on what felt right, and to me that was completely natural. However, I'm certainly not against a longer time span, where we get more of their dates, some background on their work / studies, more insight in their interests and how well they fit together, and most of all more months where he is snubbing the family dinners and his parents. One thing I suddenly realize was missing was Dave introducing Reece to his friends, since surely he has some other than Josh. We know Reece doesn't have any, which is slightly odd, since I assume he's only had to work and study online since he came out? On the other hand I totally get the shyness and being socially inept and preferring books to people. And being in the closet was probably a barrier too.- 15 comments

July C S R Discussion Day: Reece's Choice by Renee Stevens
Timothy M. commented on Cia's blog entry in Gay Authors News
I read the story again, just to be sure I remembered everything. I'll try to reply to your questions. 1) My favorite scenes are the ones where Reece stands up to his family and tells them the truth they need to hear. Not for their sake, since they are probably beyond reason, but for his own sake. 2) It was a little strange that Reece didn't say goodbye to his landlord, only to Jeff. They seemed to have a good relationship, with Reece helping out and Jeff's father not raising the rent for the apartment. Even if he was in a hurry to get to Dave's place, he might have said something about paying a visit later, before Jeff and his dad left, or something. 3) The starting point was fine, but I'd like to know some more background as we go along. How did the family treat Josh before this? It's hard to imagine any of them being affectionate and kind, especially his parents. Is this why Reece feels he's nothing special when Dave shows interest? Why are the cousins so cool, they must have had other strong influences in their lives, to lack the bigotry of their parents. 4) I'd like to hear more about the cousins telling their parents to get into the 20th century, not to mention the 21st. I could imagine Josh' parents perhaps being less stupid than the rest (unless his dad was the 'favorite uncle'), since he seems basically a good guy and the role model for the cousins. I don't expect the older generation to 'accept' Reece, but perhaps they'd be delighted to pick on Leslie or Reece's mom, just because they get annoyed with them too. 5) Perhaps the only thing I felt was a little too much, was how scared Reece was about meeting Dave's parents. I can understand him being nervous, but he's petrified. But he does rally and scold himself, so that helps. In fact, I like that Dave and Reece generally talk about their issues and sort them out fairly soon, instead of agonizing forever in secret.- 15 comments

Seeing skinnydragon's icon in the birthday list saying he'd be 31 today made me and want to rant the the unfairness of the universe. I hope he's soaring in the skies and being hugged by gorgeous angels.

How could Mrs. Anderson give her trusty pot to someone who doesn't know how to cook. Disgraceful ! But I'm wondering if he's revenging himself by burning the food.

Hmm, I hope the iPod won't regret saying yes to the iPhone's offer of a trial run. It didn't seem the best start of a relationship. But at least they're compatible.

Someone, somewhere, obviously thought Jo deserved someone to talk to. His need called his fire friend forth.

Yeah, I agree, dugh, but the TV did represent a lot of money. But I really disliked Marc for making Peter spend money on the running thing. I'm never going to buy a new TV after this.

Jävla bra ! I could hear the slightly bitter or cynical voice as I read it. Makes me want to treat my tools better.

MetaPrompts 595: FLts (MW8)

I like the idea of Gavin as a Military Alpha. And the seducing attempt of Colt by him and Isaac made me -
Yay - we're getting a Bryce story later.

Well, that was certainly effective...and now they have popcorn all over the floor. I'm glad Liam took charge and told Alek what he needed. The sex was always good before, and he had to experience that connection again. But now, physical intimacy will be the icing on their relationship and not the main thing.

My guess is Alek was never worried about his neighbors, only about any rumors getting back to his parents. Now he's out to them and his friends, he has no worries about the rest of the world. In fact, I bet he finds it liberating to do all the things he missed out on the first time: dating Liam openly, holding his hand in public, talking about his plans for the house, and hopefully asking Liam's opinion - in case they'll be sharing the place in the future. Yay, I've caught up in time for the next chapter. Time for bed.

Hmmm. did Bryce try to hook up with Nathan when they first met and after he knew Liam wasn't interested. And if he did, was he turned down by Nathan? It does seems as if they're standing at either end of the spectrum, and I'm not sure they can find a compromise. However, I suppose they are getting to know each other via Liam, so perhaps Nathan will be OK when Bryce makes a play for him. But will it lead to a relationship, and can Nathan accept Bryce's out-going past? As for Alek, I'm sure h'll be so happy and grateful at Liam holding a dinner party, that he'll bear with the line-up of friends telling him not to break Liam's heart again.

Somehow I feel worse about the experience Bryce had when he was eighteen than the recent encounter. At least this time he resisted and took action when he got the chance, and he managed to get away. But for a teen to be treated so callously by the cops makes me

Dean was woken by something tapping and pushing on his left arm. As he surfaced from an alcohol-induced slumber he smelled something burning. Forcing heavy eyes to open he saw the cigarette had dropped from his right hand and was smoldering on an old magazine occupying the floor. A dark patch was spreading across the perfect abs of the model on the front page, and as Dean watched, trying to get his act together, the first small flame appeared. ”Fire and smoke! Do something, you idiot!”

When you’re lonely and drunk, even a fire extinguisher can be a friend. Especially, if it starts talking to you!

Thank you, my kind, kilted friend. I'm sure Imp would love for him and Angel to wear kilts (for easy access to those interesting new parts ). I'm glad you liked the glimpse of Peter, Patrick and Michael, and very pleased you think I managed to integrate @aditus fun angels. Sablo will make sure our sweet boy is safe. on the idea of Imp 'instructing' Angel - you just may have inspired me to a small A.I. vignette.

Sorry about missing this comment. Thanks for reading, and I'm delighted you liked the ending. And at least I can say the last part of the trilogy is posted.

I hope your summer is relaxing, Lisa, and that you have time to do some reading. Now there's a batch of Premium stories in the blog review for you to add to your list.

Ah, so the nine dead wolves were a mix of the two packs? Makes sense.

Finally, and that was epic, but I'm glad all the blood and gore is done with. How did nine people die in the road house if Carl didn't bring guns to the fight? If Jared survives he''ll be ashamed of doing so badly in the fight with Carl in spite of all Hector taught him - and the advice to use his instincts weren't much help either. But I liked that Darwin got to shoot Carl. Hopefully, they'll all survive, even though Darla might prefer to die, and it would be easier for the pack in some ways. But Darwin would feel even more guilty. I look forward to a nice long chapter or two wrapping everything up.
