Weekly Update Weekly Wrap Up!
Timothy M. commented on Renee Stevens's blog entry in Gay Authors News
No, Rob is a Signature Author, not a Classic Author. I checked, and that's why I counted him, even if his story was listed as Premium and not under the Sig A. So you're even with the Prom A not ahead. Regards from the AR stickler for numbers and details. -
Chapter 42 You Can't Turn a Heart into a Diamond
Timothy M. commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 42 You Can't Turn a Heart into a Diamond
You Can't Turn a Heart into a Diamond. Somehow the chapter title makes me hope (together with dugh) that Nate's dad is redeemable. Because someone and something tried to make his heart as hard as diamond on the matter of having a gay son. I mean, Mark wasn't born a bigot, this was instilled into him by parents, peers, the community he grew up in, the church he attended, the slurs and lies repeated by friends, school mates, work mates and the media, or wherever he got his bigoted views created and bolstered. Obviously he's been clever enough to keep his unacceptable opinions under wraps when visiting the in-laws, and probably there hasn't been any occasions for the matter to come up, not as long as Kendall was in the closet and Michael oblivious. Indeed the Aceto Family members might have avoided the subject during Christmas etc, so as not to put pressure on their son and adopted son. So Mark never had his attitude questioned or challenged, and therefore no chance or incentive to change. I might even say that Nate's problem was a little bit due to K&M being too scared to acknowledge how they felt about each other, before now. I know that's unfair, but I agree with Eagle-eyes that Mark may well make that connection and 'blame' M&K - and I bet he probably already secretly disliked Michael, because he was in awe and jealous of him, and hated feeling inferior. so he sort of enjoys being able to look down on him (in secret) as a 'fag' - and that could easily slide into hate for 'corrupting' Nate, even from afar and by association. Illogical, I know, and perhaps far off the direction Gary will take the story, but it was how this chapter made me feel. Anyway to get back to the title, I hope Mark's heart beats harder for his wife and his children than for all those who want him to turn it into stone against a gay son. Of course, he still has to make amends (including apologizing to Josh !!), and he will have deal with his issues (therapy or whatever), before Nate can go home. Oh and I agree Nate cannot go back to his old school, unless it is willing to tackle the matter and ban / punish the bullying and namecalling. But in the long run, Nate is better off being with his close family, even if I'd enjoy a story development with M&K fostering him. So I'll keep my fingers crossed and my hopes up for Mark to do a fast Carson conversion. But while Megan gets Mark onto line, I'm delighted to see Kendall exercise his worrying / caring side with Nate, and for Michael to go all protective and supportive. It's what they do best - apart from what they do in bed. -

Well done, Promising Authors ! Even if we count Rob Colton's story amongst the Signature Authors, the Prom A posted as many as the Sig A. -
Black Widow (Story Discussion)
Timothy M. replied to Mark Arbour's topic in Mark Arbour Fan Club's Topics
are we still talking about Mark and the CAP rollercoaster? Oh, and I can still remember when Mark got my CAP review cherry. He likes those, too. -
My main comment is too long and complicated to go in a review, so I'm gonna take it over to the forum, but I want to say here that Linc is so brave to face these trials for the sake of himself and every other gay kid wrongly suspected and accused. And I do believe only a public humiliation of the bastard Sheriff McClusky could have vindicated Linc, because if he had told the truth as they took him away, they'd still have made him do the perp walk, and that would be the image left in the public eye, because they would have let him go on the sly and the media would not have cared to report it. And you've gotta love the judge for telling them an apology is in order. I also want Linc to ask for a medical examination and bring charges against the local jail for violating him. But I know it's not realistic. As for his parents, I think Linc is being too kind, and of course children have every right to be disappointed in their parents - and in this case to reject them too. But to be fair, I think his dad would have been just as much of an asshole if Linc was straight. It's simply another way of putting him down. The only way to handle him is to threaten his image and tell him he is despicable and not worth wasting time on and then ignore him like trash. God I hate that man, and his wife is scarcely any better, for all that she seems to be a little sorry, Thanks for resolving the cliff hanger, AC.

that's OK - but I recommend reading the story, it's great ! Snowflake and Brian, oh my

Ohh how did I miss out on this chapter last night ?! Yum, and I'm glad he finally came to the right conclusion about their relationship. But now I want to know how Levi reacts, I'm hoping his happy surprise is not too obvious to Jack, lol. Oh and I have the feeling they are going to have an extra intense night. Well done on using the prompt twice - or at least very nearly the same question. You're getting very good at this - and if your prompt responses get any hotter, my laptop may burst into flames. good thing I had my Danish Drool Diverter ready.

Auburn Ski Camp: A Melting Snowflake
Timothy M. commented on MrM's story chapter in Auburn Ski Camp: A Melting Snowflake
Oh man, the lovemaking was out of this world, in spite of the sadness of knowing what happened in Snowflake's past. Brian is brave to admit his feelings, and I want to him for doing so. I hope Snowflake stays melted, but I'm sure Brian will hug him and fuck him and kiss him and bliss him until he finnally believes with all his heart that the love is real and the forever kind. I shall now go to bed and dream sweet dreams of fire and ice and the hottest sex on a mountain. -
Auburn Ski Camp: Brian's Embers
Timothy M. commented on MrM's story chapter in Auburn Ski Camp: Brian's Embers
I'm so happy you started this chapter with the declaration of Brian understanding how he has found love, and it has changed him profoundly. I can now enjoy the lengthy flash back knowing all will end well. Once more we have to applaud Sabrina for doing all she can to ensure Snowflake's happiness and I'm glad she can read Brian's sincerity. Telling him Snowflake cried and about his issues is a good move, because Brian needs to think and not simply cruise along and react as he's done before. Snowflake is so special and irresistible and good for Brian - and the best is Brian knows it too. I hope Snowflake feels the same. A great chapter - and reading it again feels like I got a present on your birthday. Kiitos ! -
Auburn Ski Camp: Fire and Ice
Timothy M. commented on MrM's story chapter in Auburn Ski Camp: Fire and Ice
One of my favorite romantic chapters of all GA. The way they both feel drawn together and Brian loves Snowflakes smile and thinks he is beautiful, while Snowflakes realizes Brian makes him laugh and is the Fire to complement his Ice. Loved the Norn idea, I feel all Nordic and satisfied and I know he's right. Their fates are entwined forever. -
Auburn Ski Camp: Snowflake and the Lion
Timothy M. commented on MrM's story chapter in Auburn Ski Camp: Snowflake and the Lion
Sabrina is the key stone of this chapter, or at least most of it. Through her we know that Snowflake's breakdown is unusual and scary, she gives him the knowledge of Brian's injury which leads to the dramatic skiing machine situation, and she lets us experience the aftermath of Jimmy's heartbreak - oh and of course we also feel very strongly for her own loss when she realizes Snowflake has been caught up in the vortex of Brian. And I loved the final part about Brian being warm. -
I've been to Finland several times, so I've picked up a word or two. And those are two of the important ones, right ? From SATW I've learned Perkele... http://satwcomic.com/computer-technician

finally got home from work so I could say Tillykke med fødselsdagen to the Snowflake man. Danish birthday flag waving and cheering

Loved the way you used the weather and the cold to mirror Morgan's mood. Tyler was awesome (told ya, lol) and Grant was the coolest brother in town. The awkward conversation by the firepit had me but at least they worked it out. I hope Connor wants to leave town too and go to university.

Chapter 41 Not Everyone is Dealt a Good Hand
Timothy M. commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 41 Not Everyone is Dealt a Good Hand
Well, it looks like Michael and Kendall may become 'parents' (or at least 'in loco parentis') before they expected. So sad - and now I wonder if Nate came out to his parents because his uncle M was 'suddenly' gay. Is he the son of Michael's sister, and how does she feel? Somehow I cannot see a child of Michael's parents being intolerant, but you never know what marrying a bastard can do. I'm glad we had the happy scene with Chet and Arron before this. At least Ace and Deuce had a bit of celebration first - and I bet Chet and Arron will be helpful as great role models and protectors for Nate. Poor guy, but for now he's safe and surrounded by loving, caring people. I bet we'll see Kendall's caring side as well as Michael's protective one appear next. While Nate has been dealt a shitty hand, I trust these four people will help him win in the end, and be a stronger and better man than his father. Just like Kendall was. -

Bad Night, Interesting Day
Timothy M. commented on comicfan's story chapter in Bad Night, Interesting Day
Me three. More ! But I think Roger should have paid for a cab to take Tristan home to get clean clothes - and perhaps take the rest of the day off. Then he could get some sleep after he told his house mates to take a hike. If there is something I despise, it's inconsiderate idiots like them. And how did Roger know Tristan is gay? Or did he simply take the chance? -
I have to admit I don't care about plagiarism for my own sake. However, if it hurts GA, ie because readers, who might have joined us here, instead use sites which are careless about accepting stolen stories, then I might feel differently and make the effort to check. Not that I think anyone wants to steal a couple of half-done stories, but perhaps if I ever manage to get them finished, lol.

This chapter confirmed some of my suspicions about why Hamish and Christie were so nasty to Jack. I always felt that their problems came from feeling neglected, and while you'd think their adult minds would make them reconsider and deal with their emotions, it's not so easy. I know from close up how deeply rooted feeling of betrayal and abandonment as s child can poison your relationship with parents and siblings, and even though therapy and admission of 'guilt' from the parents will help, it can take a long time to get over. And in this case the focus on Jack to the exclusion of all else is still ongoing. But at least Christie has taken the first step. And I think that if Hamish can save his Brother, it might make him feel 'superior' and 'good' which could help a lot with his attitude. Frankly I don't care who donates the tissue, as long as Jack survives. Mrs Shaw has me shaking my head about the Young Love disbelief, but it's interesting that she immediately talks about the practical obstacles to getting married. I'd expect her to assume an ongoing engagement which would only develop into actual marriage plans when Jack is well.

Farrs enjoy winding up James, but I guess he makes up for it, so it's OK. Maybe James is a little bit stuffy and worry-warty, so he needs to learn to relax? But I'm not surprised Faris asks James to marry him, since he's lucky to have found someone who will put up with his ways, lol.
