  1. OK, maybe I should have made it clearer that JAR asked me to post for him in the topic, because he was traveling. But it's not very important, since all his prompts are related to the MetaVerse, and his readers will find it anyway.
  2. Thanks for the highlight, I'm glad I managed to use a current prompt for once. If you meant to include all the Prompt 448 stories, you missed JAR's usual MetaPrompt chapter: http://www.gayauthors.org/story/johnar/metaprompts/37
  3. Yeah, I'm loving it - and you did include the population explosion Definitely keep going and I want the story from before they met, please. This is going to be a new favorite !
  4. Ohh, sounds interesting. You forgot overpopulation, though. The main probem of mankind: we're too succesful and breed too much.
  5. Aww thanks CG, another wonderful review. I'll have to find a gay redhead for you, because unfortunately Jasper is terminally straight. Now Rob on the other hand... your assessment is very valid, and although Rob is probably 95% straight, there is perhaps leeway for a bit of exploration if the opportunity presents itself. I'm not promising anything, but I won't close the door on the possibility either. Oh and the pressure to date is of course much less in college than in high school, right? I love your rallying cry for Eric and will do my best to get the next chapter on the road soon. But the CC twins are getting pissed with me...
  6. “What did he just say?” “Nothing.” “Come on, bro.” “That’s all he said. I asked him what was wrong, and he said ‘Nothing’ and ran off to the bathroom.” “And you let him?” “Well, I could hardly stop him, if he really needed to go.” “Why didn’t you follow him?” “I don’t know, do you think I should have?” Eric started pacing in front of the door. “Jasper, what do you think?” “If he’s not back soon, I’ll check up on him.” “So you agree something’s wrong?
  7. In spite of the small remnants of bitter dregs (the jail experience, the Oliver parents, what Jack's siblings did), this chapter focus on the triumph of love. Finally the support of the gay community get some media time, and Lincoln's decision to let himself be victimized and vindicated pays off. I think that's the best moment for me, seeing how 'their' people recognize what he has done, how he can be a symbol and an icon for the unfairness of seeing and treating gay love as different. They understand and they show it and back up his passionate plea in Court, asking WHY? I'm glad Linc saw this before he went back to Jack and had this reward fresh in mind, and so right to get this surrounded by the symbols of the Day of Lovers. I guess there was also a lot of symbolism in using Mrs Shaw's ring. The beacon of young teen love conquering all and lasting till death and beyond. I wonder if Jack's sleepless night, and the pain and worry she must have seen on his face, helped persuade her that whatever is needed to keep Linc at Jack's side must be done and according to the wishes of her son and his husband-to-be. But as Hunter says, Jack will need parental permission too.
  8. I love it when my readers are in tune with what I want to convey. Your comments about Rob mirror my purpose and thoughts so well, it's almost uncanny (did you read my mind?). Eric's trepidation is understandable, yes, but what he may be forgetting is that the prom is several weeks in the future, and he may feel differently by then. Nelson knows he has to be patient and understanding, but what your mind and your heart feel can be two diffent matters. More on this in the next chapter. Thanks for a great review, Eagle-eyes.
  9. Thanks CG, I'm guessing Rob can borrow lots of science fiction from Eric, lol. So he only has those books which are personal belongings (gifts). you're spot on about Jasper - and he does have an advantage as Nelson's best friend. More on this in the coming chapter. Your insights on Eric and Nelson are amazing, yes we forget the relative innocence and inexperience of Eric when he takes charge, and in any case he is a lot more confident in familiar (safe) surroundings. Nelson has just gotten the boy of his dreams, he certainly does not want to do anything which might scare Eric (off). But I'm also holding on to the hope of a prom with dances and kisses.
  10. Oh, I'm sure Eric wants to dance with Nelson, but he may not be too keen about everyone staring at them. Perhaps the Drama Club experience can help, since Eric has been on the stage. Or we can hope them being a couple is old news by then or that noone cares, since Trevor took Nelson to the prom last year. Stay tuned for more, lol.
  11. Thanks AC, you'll get the next chapter soon. I like your take on Rob, but we actually don't know how tidy his room is, since Nelson mainly focused on the books. But I have the feeling you are right. Yes, Nelson knows what to expect, and he's looking forward to dance with his boyfriend - assuming Eric still wants to go to the prom...
  12. thanks Victor, I'm glad you're hungry for more. I can't take credit for the chapter title, since the prompt decides that. But I'll take it that you liked the prompt I chose. When you and Drew tell me you understand how Nelson and Eric feels I'm always since you are much closer to their age and situation than I am. I think Eric is justified in worrying, particularly about the prom, even if he has told and shown Nelson he is fine with them being a couple in public. As you say he's only fifteen and has just come out. He has no idea what this entails. Nelson knows and he can understand Eric, but he can't help feeling upset (more on this in ch. 37) and I think it's understandable too. As I said, I'm thrilled you feel the same. Thanks for the review and the picture in the forum
  13. yay, you've got a Finnish reader. and I love the way Suvitar is gently pointing out the small native details only she would notice.
  14. LOL, I'm sure there were clothes and stuff lying around, but like me the first thing Nelson looks at are the books. And I'm glad you thought them suitable to Rob's character which I'm trying to develop in case I ever get to do the Rob at College sequel. I loved that you've noticed that Nelson is an observer and a thinker - just like Eric in fact. But now they need to switch to acting and talking in order to deal with Nelson's fears and Eric's worry. Thanks for reviewing and posting in the story forum.
  15. Thank you Gary, I'm delighted you thought I achieved a good balance, and that you consider them all as friends. Yes, Rob's parents have expectations, but I think they are will be supportive rather than demanding, and the aim is for the boys to lead happy and useful lives. The insecurities of being young and in love - not always easy to deal with. And Eric and Nelson are still a very new couple, something which is easy to forget. Let's see how they deal with this.
  16. You're welcome Drew and thanks for a great review in return. Yay, you spotted the hints from the books. I'm not quite sure yet what Rob has in mind (here is where my lack of knowledge of the US education and career systems is a problem, but I shall have to rely on my beta). But he certainly wants to achieve and have success one way or another. Eric has been keeping a low profile for a long time (easy to hide behind Rob), so the idea of being in the spotlight can be scary. But with Nelson at his side I think Eric can do anything. Glad you liked Sir Rob, and you just made your own catchy phrase: 'evil clutches of bigotry' - I may have to use that in a future chapter.
  17. Awww dugh you made me laugh, putting that picture in my head. Thanks and let's hope they avoid the knights who say Ni! I think you're right, also because there are still several weeks till the prom, and surely Nelson and Eric will be old news by then. We shall see - if I ever get that far. Best wishes for your poor head and thanks for reading. Hope it cheered you up.
  18. Thanks, LL, I'm glad Rob the Knight struck a chord with you. And your observations are very clever. Stay tuned.
  19. “Where did all of that come from?” Rob looked at Eric, who shrugged. Jasper and I exchanged glances, but neither of us said anything. This time we congregated in Rob’s room, and I was interested to see the similarities and differences to Eric’s room. The furniture and color scheme were the same, but that could be the influence of Mrs. Perry. They both had a few posters of baseball players, but I suspected Eric’s had been chosen for their looks rather than their fame. Rob’s shelves held more sp
  20. I guess I wasn't around when it wasn't good-natured, so I hadn't realized my posts could lead to anything unpleasant. Sorry. But at least there was some posting on this topic, which doesn't always happen.

    Chapter 1

Stephen was quite clever, helping Brat in his own way, even if he did annoy him with all the talking and not always considerate questions. I hope he and Brat become friends, and that Stephen's parents will be glad they listened to their son's request.
  22. so now I'm trying to work out what time that would be in GMT+1 Anyway, I'll just ask my question: Even if you're not writing a sequel to The Rainy Day, did you think about what would be the future for Brat? Would he be able to get some sort of more normal teenage life? I realize he'll always look out for his brother and sister, but my hope was he'd find some happiness and trust in his foster family.
  23. I think we need a Moderator to solve this, unless you can show a GA link which says the above (I haven't been able to find such a statement). Not that it's super important. Cia?
  24. Kære Tim Life is a miracle. Love is a miracle. This story is a miracle. Not just because of Michael who is bright enough to see the beauty and strength in you and to cherish and protect the miracle he has found in you. Because never doubt it, you are a miracle too, a small stubborn star who has come into our lives to remind us to appreciate love and loyalty, and the strangers who become family and friends through acceptance and recognition of the worth in each other and of kindred spirits. Please give Michael lots of and from us and thank him for taking care of the new Tim in our lives, so that you could tell us one of the best love stories I've ever read. Kærlig hilsen Tim (the elder)

    Prompt 425

I guess you can teach an old dog new tricks, sometimes. If you're kind and patient enough, lol.
