You know, the stepdad is an idiot, but the mother is worse. No decent mom would do that to her child. She might still end up deciding that he was better off with his dad (particularly if the 'familiar voice' belongs to a guy, lol), but not like this. I bet her betrayal is the main reason CJ is upset.

Well, I'm impressed by the guts of Clem and Ash, going to the rodeo with Ash in a skirt (and stockings plus lace panties). It's sure to provoke not only Nate but plenty of other people. I hope we get to see the counselor confront Wally with his obnoxious behavior towards Zach after games, and I hope it's not all sugared over with us and Zach being obliged to feel sorry for Wally because he got treated the same way by his dad. It may be an explanation but it's not an excuse and Wally needs to acknowledge this and apologize and change his ways (probaby via lots of therapy). If he cannot admit that he's at fault and not Zach, then I think the counselor should tell him that his advice to Zach would be to cut all ties for the time being and focus on the family who really cares about him (Frank etc). But I guess a good counselor would confront Wally with this before they meet Zach, since it would be easier on Wally if his son isn't present. I'm just so pissed with Wally that I want to see him suffer.

I liked that Malik took Ash in his stride, but I guess there'll be some more teasing. Clem should introduce his boyfriend to Mrs. C (can't recall her name) she'll approve. I wonder how long it will take before the gossip gets back to Nate. Oh - and I guess Clem and Ash haven't had the boyfriend talk yet, either ?

I guess there's cause for some hope for Dave, but I have the feeling it's going to be a long, tough road. Same could be said for Liam in relation to Neil. I'm not sure either of them will reach their goal, but maybe they'll end up better and more compassionate persons. If Dave can deal with his anger and Liam with his bully tendencies, they can at least have friends. Hopefully down the road a girlfriend and a boyfriend may materialize too.

I'm glad that they had a happy end and everything was solved. Lucky for Chad that Roy enjoyed being proposed to this way. Too sentimental and 'public' for me, but then I utterly hate being the center of attention. I'd have died of embarrassment or run away cursing in Roy's place. Sorry... didn't mean to be a wet blanket.

Good start and likeable characters. I would suggest expanding the first chapter so that the time between Ren saving Fen's life and Fen explaining his obligation is longer. It would be interesting and seem more credible, seing as they are going to be stuck together for several days. Hope you'll write more soon.

I agree, tak for julegaven, Mark. Especially since there was lots of Zach and Will in it. I think it would be a good idea for JP to go with Zach and Will, but even if he doesn't I hope Zach can come to some sort of understanding with his parents. Surely they can see that if they love him they shouldn't put more pressure on him, when he has to keep this potential career wrecking secret.

Oooh, Clem may be a bit out of his depth, but he sure is enjoying the ride. I wonder how people in his home town wil react when he turns up with Ash as his boyfriend. That should send tongues wagging and Nate into a fit of disgusted anger. I hope Clem decks him. Hard.

Interesting to see Will the Volcano do controlled eruptions and even get Zach to erupt on his behalf. And I loved the way he brought Brad into the situation to help Marc and avoid 'secrets'.

I had to go all the way back to chapter 7 and read forwards to build up to my rant. And lo and behold, what did I find: Ren admitting "I often say shit when I feel someone is about to lecture me, criticize me for what I did…" So I'm still convinced that Ren is an insensitive, possessive idiot but not a cheater. However, I was surprised that Matteo is a fool too. Even if he doesn't know Jonah well, he knows his huband, who has the same tendency to focus on the wrong matters and miss the greater picture. Matteo should have told Jonah straight out: "I think you could very well be wrong about Ren cheating on you. Do you want me to find out what's been going on, so you know for sure?" Oh and I loved this line from Jonah: "I don’t want to be lectured by pompous bitchy assholes. It just triggers something evil in me…" That should make him understand why Ren acted the way he did in the cafe meeting with Chris. Honestly, I want to kick the backsides of all of them. And Jonah cut off his hair. Idiot. OK, rant over.

Well, we finally know what's wrong with Dave. I hadn't thought about it being a child molester, so that was a shock, but it makes a lot of sense. Poor guy, but hopefully he can get some help now. And if they manage to put Mr R away, that might help too. (Pus we all know what happens to child molesters in jail,) Very intense chapter, Graeme. This chapter still sends chills down my spine.
