  1. Hmm I can see I'll have to do a Rob chapter soon. I'll have to go looking for an appropriate prompt. The next chapter is ready to post, and the one after that just hit AC's mail box. I think you'll like both of them.
  2. Difficult one, and other reviewers have said all that needs to be said on the subject. But I'm still trying to figure out who Solcar was in this story: the Marine or the lover of his brother? Both lost what they loved most.

Even if we know that Solcar will have his heart broken every time, it's interesting to see the different ways it plays out. Sometimes, he gives in to love and in this case he tries to resist, but the outcome remains the same. I have one question though: does Solcar live the full life of whoever he is (so maybe fifty years) or does he only experience the five year cycles? I guess both ways are equally bad, since in the first option he has to live a long life of regret for this particular love and in the other one he gets to love and lose more.
  4. Hmm, so Solcar was supposed to remain aloof from his charges as High Lord of the Milky Way, but he got intrigued by humans? Why do I have the feeling he was caught sneeking down to Earth in human form for small holidays, enjoying the thrill - and maybe breaking a few hearts when he disappeared again. So as punishment he gets to love and be abandoned time and time again. And why do I also get the feeling that Solcar's exile did not achieve what the Council expected... Time will tell, but I'm glad his brother Osclar loves him. Oh and it's hard to rejoice in Tony and Colt finding love when you know what will happen five years down the road.
  5. OMG so Solcar gets five year cycles of love and loss - that means he's been through this one thousand times !! Some punishment, now I really want to know what he did to deserve this. Or is the Council evil?

    Rome 55 BCE

So sad - but it left me wondering: was Solcar the slave in this story, destined to lose love but win his freedom? Only to move on to yet another life of love and loss? I'm sure he must hate the old adage: better to have loved and lost...

So many hints and possibilities in this short prompt. Solcar must be alien from the talk of tears being weird for him and the 5000 years spent in exile. And not only in exile but living lives filled with sorrow, beginning with losing his family as a child. I hope we'll get to read many chapters from the small book.
  8. Well, since both Eric and Nelson are in the drama club what else do you expect? LOLand you know what Nelson is up to, you bad boy, since the next prompt is already written and vetted by you.
  9. It's so sweet the way you all like Rob. I even got a disappointed PM because Rob didn't have a bigger role this time, lol.You have some good points, Gary, and Eric needs to put himself out there to make a bid for Nelson. At least he knows he has several people wishing him luck.
  10. Thank you, I'm glad you liked it.Yes, Carlos does have a way of cutting straight to the heart of the matter. And Maria was already on the right track, so Eric didn't stand a chance, lol.
  11. One of the things I like about this chapter is Simon showing his appreciation of both Gina and Jodie. He tells Gina of his admiration of her behavior in the fateful class with Father S. It's a relief to know she seems OK now and that Father S was removed shortly after. Unfortunately we know that priests such as him and Monseigneur H, were often shunted from place to place and leaving hurt and bewildered children behind. Jodie gets the bracelets which symbolizes Simon's pure love of friendship (philia) for her. She is surprised for a moment, since she knows his love (eros) is for boys and particularly one boy. But his honest explanation soon makes her see and she becomes even more determined to help - and to make Blakie help. But how? That remains to be seen. Loved your review, Gary - as always.
  12. Thanks Carlos. I guess you're right, lol.The funniest thing was that Irri shouted almost exactly what Eric did: "ROB! Why can't you keep your mouth shut!"
  13. Or else Eric needs to be more specific, lol. He did tell Rob he would come out to Tony and Maria today, but omitted the bit about keeping his crush on Nelson a secret.
  14. “Can I talk to you?” Eric caught up to his best friends Tony and Maria, just as they were leaving school. They turned and smiled at him. Maria let go of her boyfriend’s arm to greet him with her customary hug and quick peck on the cheek. “Of course, Eric. Where do you want to go?” “How about my place? I think there’s fresh chocolate cake.” Tony immediately turned round and started for his car. He was a huge fan of chocolate cake, which was why Eric had asked his mom to make one. She knew he

    Chapter 12

I hope Jim comes up with a good revenge on Jarrod, and that Tony finds a way to shame Alex or at least curb his behavior. Maybe he should tell Ethan, he is considering moving out, because Alex won't respect his privacy or Jim's issues. I have a feeling that Ethan will flay Alex badly for that. Wonderful to see Ty blossom as a player and team mate, and interesting to see people outside the club notice too. Wonder how they'll react when the learn it's the gay guy who caused the miracle.

    Intermezzo

Well, I loved it, even if I feel so sad for Michael. I hope you make it up to him by letting him find someone special. Maybe he could come to Sicily and meet the sexy hat maker, yum. But the whole 'let's make Ren jealous' plan, after we've now pissed Eric off, was very funny even if I can see some danger as well. And I'm fairly sure, Michael wants to open Jonah's eyes more than piss Ren off. Hope it works.
  17. Oh what a lovely first date, in spite of a few mishaps, lol. But they still need to talk about what they want. I look forward to their tomorrow.
  18. My, my, Cole, you certainly did the gym thing in spades. That was so hot! Thank you. And I'm glad the rugby guys are friendly and invited Chad to join them. I'm sure Roy will love to go watch him play. And he needs to make a play for Chad before any of the non-attached rugby guys do. I hope Wes manages to make Peterson relax - one way or another.

    Date Day

That was a relief, but why didn't Jay call when he got home? Oh and now I dislike his sister even more, but his parents seem cool. I hope the next chapter has Miles and Jay talking and agreeing how they feel and what they want.

    Chapter 19

I'm not sure it's better to have JP investigate the Parnell guy instead of Brad. Both of them can be pretty ruthless if their family is threathened. But hopefully the name is just a coincidence. In any case, having Brad and a bunch of other guys (Darius, JP, Stef, maybe even JJ) turn up at Zach's game is a good decoy, since it shows his extended family cares about him and not just Will. This should help Zach pretend Will is no more than a cousin who likes football. Though it is sad that it has to be this way. But even in Europe (including Denmark) guys in macho sports are unable to be out.

    Chapter 1

You just reminded me why I don't like politicians and military jerks. Poor kitten
  22. I like Jodie more and more, she seems to be the only friend Simon has, and she's doing her best to cheer him up and help him. Her ploy to set him up with Blakie was so transparent it was hilarious. Oh and there is a mystery of sorts. What is it Simon is afraid to do at the barber's?
  23. I like your analysis of the twin's father. I'm sure he thinks he knows what is best for them and assumes following his directions will lead them to be happy. This might have been pardonable if he was willing to revise his suggestions according to the situation. Oh well...I'm glad you liked the email conversation, I worried about whether it would work.

    Chapter 21

I hope Nik learnt the lesson this time: Bloody well listen to what Sacha says and always ask what he wants. And Lacey needs to stop with the stupid teasing and force feeding already - and she can stop interfering with Nik and Sacha too. Grrr I agree with Suvitar about it being much too soon for a long drive. But hopefully Sacha will love the beach.
  25. You're spot on here. Russell and Evan's lives began diverting when Russ got ill, and especially after Evan left home to go to college.I agree that Jacob seems to be the right guy for him.
