A good talk with two great women in his life as well as another talk with his therapist did wonders for Chase, but then he needs every bit of help he can get. He is still hurting from various wounds: his mother's death, his depression, the absence of his father, his stupid reaction to Hank's proposal, and the loss of his beloved. But in spite of the bad endings so far, we do see the possibility of a new beginning.
Yeah, Jahke got hooves and horns in the first version too. And they're also mentioned in some of the later stories, eg Fallen Pride.
Great ending to the story, but I'd love to hear Jahke wither Baccha with his words.
Chase had some tough things to face in this chapter, but he also got a lot of help from his therapist, which was good to see. The advice about not chasing Hank who has his own issues, was particularly important.
Sorry to hear about the shoulder, buddy. Hope it improves
Interesting that they had already noticed Simon and talkied about approaching him. I wonder if Jeff was attracted to Simon and that made him resist the idea of Freddie talking to him.
I liked the way Jeff showed Simon that those stupid Alpha boys and girls were a minority, with not much going for them. But I wonder about the boy in the expensive shirt. He disliked Tyler's hateful rants.
I have the feeling Honey will enjoy being cosseted and cuddled by his mate for a long time. And Jedrek's beast won't care if his human feels a little embarrassed over being both possessive and soppily romantic.
Well done, Jahke, for standing up to Kiorl, taking care of your mate, and having fun with other demons. I'm not surprised Sitka is proud of his boy. I wonder what Nassau was telling Kiorl during the argument.
Uh Oh, that last bit was a surprise. Other than that, I liked the way matters were resolved, including saving poor Maurice and Shawn joining the love and lust fest. But I hope they told Franklin what happened to his friend.
thank you, spikey (I'm very glad I'm not just the nagging person trying to wring reviews out of you )
- but also because it's one of my favorite stories.
Poor Jahke, he will be very upset that his wish to go for a walk is the reason Sitka almost got killed. And where is Zai when they need him ? Hopefully, Kiorl will get Sitka back to the house fast, instead of scolding him for taking his mate out.
Jahke fits so well in the house, but he'll probably have several more embarrassing moments with the empaths. Does Zai have sex with others, even if his mate won't ? I hope Sitka got other books and cookbooks as well as porn, but he probably did, since he likes food a lot. It's great that Shindae and Jahke like each other too, then he won't come between the friends, but make them closer.
It's good to see Tobias and Jahke find something to bond over, and I like how delighted Zai is about it. The bathroom scene is both sweet and hot, with the demons having a friendly shower and appreciating Jahke bursting in on them.
At least Kiorl knows a lost argument when he sees it, the way Sitka knows he's found something unique. Now he just needs to get Jahke used to his new life without those silly inhibitions.
It's not only Simon but also Rosie who feels backed into a corner, but at least Simon appreciates having Nicki and her staunch opinion and behavior in his corner. Right now she's being a better mom to Simon than Rosie, but I hope this will change when they defeat Matthew in court. Maybe Simon should start visiting his aunt Kate who seems like a nice and clever person.
It was good to see Simon's friends cheer him up, but I'm surprised Freddie doesn't try to set Jeff and Simon up with each other. Maybe he does have some discretion after all.
I agree with @Israfil - Corbin did well in controlling the various situations and his own baser instincts. When he finally did let his emotions loose, it was well deserved by his 'brothers' and that English prick. Even after all this time, I'm ready to strangle Pete. But I feel very sorry for Nick, because he was good for Corbin while it lasted.
As an author who has three stories on Temporary Hold, I can tell you how difficult it is to keep writing when inspiration and time are lacking. And being met with critical comments, when finally getting back to posting, would be totally demotivating and depressing for me.
I think Jwolf is being brave and awesome to take up the task again after such a long time. As I understand it, he is determined to finish the story. If you worry about this being true, simply wait until The English Year is Complete before reading again.
- scary and painful, even if the car took most of the damage. Nice firefighters compensate a bit, but it's still
Glad to hear that, but sorry about your shoulder and the other soreness. God bedring from Danmark.
