    I'm reserving judgement on mom till I find out just what Paddy did. I would think seeing dad is pretty important to him right now, and withholding that should be kept for a whopper transgression, something that if mom doesn't deal with quickly could go really bad.

    Well what is taking you so long? I finished the dang thing the first time in 22 h 35 min the day I got it! (Well that day and the next.) I did go back and read it a second time after my daughter finished it, just to be sure I didn't miss little details.

    I would think it entails all named characters, regardless of method of demise. As such I would include the fireman that Carullo was involved with, but not the thousands of un-named people who died on 9-11. That days total should remain at 4, Carullo's boyfriend, Robbie, Hank and Janine.

    That is what happens when people who don't understand teens try to write about them. Would be like me trying to write about being a victim who survived Chernoble. I have no clue so could not do it well.

    Bottom line is life isn't all hearts and roses, so a realistic story can't be either. Death happens. Sometimes you see it coming, but the taxi speeding around the corner comes out of the blue. Authors have the advantage of knowing WHY that person was hit by the taxi, the rest of us have to trust that an author had a good reason, and didn't just do it because he wrote a character into a corner and didn't know how to extract him.

    No one preventative is enough. Gay or straight, we ALL need to be careful and aware. Measels is a rare occurrence now due to vaccinations. But would you let your little one go play with a child with measels because he or she has been vaccinated? PrEP helps, but is no excuse not to be careful.

    Good looking dude, but if that is what they are calling a plus size male we still have a long way to go before we accurately define "normal" sizes.

    I agree, he earned the honor and should not have been censored. I also think the principal waited till grad day just before go time to tell him because he knew if given the opportunity the public outcry would have been tremendous. The principal was gutless.

    People in their 20's are adults and as such responsible for their next own sexual health. Sex Ed including comprehensive HIV info will help but is not the definitive answer. As Ashi said, PLAY SAFE. It is your responsibility to stay healthy. You cannot rely on others.

    Well done sir. Watching Tait grow stronger as the story progressed was quite the interesting read. Your writing is also growing stronger as you move forward. I enjoyed this story from beginning to end.

    Very is also on my list. And I don't strike them out off hand, but read each sentence with and without the offender, or in the case of very, using an appropriate substitute. Sometimes that is just the right word to go in THAT spot!
