Can we permanently ban that word from the lexicon and go back to the much older and much more dignified "triad"?

Can't win for loosing
Fae Briona commented on Fae Briona's blog entry in Thoughts from the Faerie Fool
Dr. confirmed that the shots can raise blood pressure "for about 48-hours" -- lasted closer to 96 for me but at least I know what it is. Don't remember it doing this this 1st time. Taking this Friday and next Monday off for a long weekend to try & relax and de-stress.- 3 comments

Blood pressure still up, but not as high as it was last night. Think it swung some throughout the day which has made me feel exhausted.- 3 comments

He want's to "stay in touch." That's not going to happen.

Well, apparently, in addition to not lasting more than a few days when it should last a few weeks and increasing my shaking, the dual steroid shot I got on Friday makes my blood pressure go up. It's increased every reading [morning / evening] since Friday. Of course, I did need something to break the pain for a bit at least and it did let me get up to the memorial & back which I wouldn't have been able to do otherwise. If I get it again I need to remember that the higher reading isn't one of the normal "blips" where it drops back to normal and adjust my bp Rx to keep it from going up (as much).

Kinbaku requires a great deal of skill and talent to be done well --- and beautifully.

Raining -- again (but only rain this time). My brother sent me a pic earlier. Right after he went to bed last night a huge crash of thunder made him jump. Lightning had hit a house 2 doors down. House looks gutted but the family is ok.

Wasn't sure which emoticon to choose for this one: 'love' for the thoughts contained, 'sad' that it is necessarily at all, or 'angry' for the act itself. Chose 'love' but 'sadness' is winning today. 😢

The scene with Markus brought to mind Armistead Maupin's chapter, "A Letter to Mama" from the story, Tales of the City. The 1st link is from the original film, which includes the prior chapter - the letter he received from home; 2nd is the chapter read by Sir Ian McKellen; 3rd is a written transcript of the chapter.

Love Katy Perry's "Unconditionally" and the video is lovely.

$1.44 here; not too different Severe Thunderstorm watch has been extended til 4am, and there have been tornadoes in the Western part of the state. We're supposed to be past this by now and just be having flooding rains.

I have to try clothes on, unless I know the brand really well. Too tall and thin to fit easily.

Find me a new pair while you're at it? I hate shopping for clothing. 👞

Jimbo's father is definitely a piece of work. Growing up on a farm we at least had barn cats -- not "pets" per say but not completely wild either. Kept themselves fed by keeping the mice down; and important task when you grow wheat.

Hugs and hope that things will get better sooner than they think. Living in constant pain isn't a fun experience.

I've tried CBD oil, from a source that has 3rd party testing so I know that it was what they said it was. Good news: it did help with my pain and with my anxiety; Bad news: it caused my blood pressure to spike (which it's not supposed to do ).

Woke up early this morning (too early for a Saturday [ah - just remembered re-reading this that I need to reset my alarm!]) and drove up to attend my Aunt's Memorial service. Took mom so she wouldn't have to ride with my brother -- that and I have a handicap sticker. The slideshow / video her oldest boy made with a bit of help from my brother was nice. Could have done without the ministers congregational recruitment blah blah that I found a bit out of place and inappropriate for the situation. Was a short but lovely service. Mom managed to get through it ok. Had a little dinner afterwards, provided by the "ladies of the church" in an attached building. Had a few short chats with those cousin's I knew I wouldn't want to strangle, then took mom home, swung by to see dad on my way out of town and wish him a Happy Father's Day, then came home. Heavy rains coming in over night with possibly damaging winds (70-80mph), possibly tennis ball sized hail, and -- because everything is still saturated and full -- another chance of flooding.

Reflection: Commemorating PULSE

I noticed MacGreg had it at the end of the collection. Wasn't thinking well that evening, and probably shouldn't have been on. -

I loved this chapter, with the initial steps Stanley and Kent are taking.

I couldn't let myself think about it until after I got home from work last night. Was talking to a coworker this afternoon about it and started to get very emotional. Joint pain & stress probably didn't help keep the emotions under control but hadn't really sunk in how much the anniversary bothered me until that conversation.

Doesn't sound like the most fun evening. If I had to stay over with my ex one of us probably wouldn't survive the night.

Yippy -- more rain chances next Friday/Saturday when I need to be going about 90-min away for my Aunts memorial. Put the tie and tie tack with the suit this evening so I won't forget either of them. Need a new pair of shoes if I can fine a pair that fits well.
