A fitting ending to a wonderful story.

IF this is the end to this story, it is a fitting place to stop. You've presented a wonderful story with a focus on what can be done when one has a dream and then the drive to get it made into a reality. As I said before, college is not a guarantee of success or a job. This service provided by Jim benefited all he met - the boys who helped make the Food Truck a profitable business, the community that bought the food, and the various businesses that also were employed - Dominic, the stores, the bakeries. Really well done!!!

I'm still trying to figure out the year in which the food truck was started. Jim is paying $3.50/hr to the guys initially. Granted, he is also giving them a place to stay and providing their food, but I'm still amazed that he actually forms a really supportive community/family. Love the story!!

At last, the story is moving forward and we are beginning to unravel the mystery. Well written!

I am sure that there are regulations from the Health Department that are being glossed over for the sake of this wonderful story. The heart of this story is the sharing of one's talents to better others while providing a service which is benefiting the local community. Great job once again!

I see Otara Markets have been closed as of 20/9/20. Sounds like what we call Farmers' Market here - though it's much more than that.

Good to know...it also would have been good to have had this as part of the story but glad you let us know. I was wondering where all the money was coming from too! I do love the fact that Jim is providing employment as well as shelter to these kids as well as teaching them a skill which will take them beyond the food truck. As far as Paul's distance learning - many school districts offer online programs for students in various situations. The Pandemic is showing how it can be done, but online education has been around a long time.

That type of negative self image is so hard to change. Rick has learned to loathe himself and interprets every situation as a confirmation of his low self-worth. Nice setup though for an upward curve for his life. Great chapter!.

I don't know if it was/is your intention, but as a retired school counselor (I did that for 36 years in addition to 11 years as a classroom teacher), I must say rather forcefully: college is not for everyone nor is it the making of a "better" person! We all need people who are talented in other fields too!!! I am impressed with Jim's analytical skill, his use of resources, his dedication and determination, and his ability to dream and make it a reality! Thank you for addressing this as you tell a compelling story!

Short and sweet and a bit too saccharine for my taste, buy enjoyable nonetheless. "Love" happens a bit to easily but it had to in this short space. Serious like, yes - love, no -- love needs much more than the first night together as teenagers to really happen. It's a commitment that neither is truly capable of making at this early stage. For heaven's sake, they don't even truly know each other yet! I am looking for the next long story - you spoiled me with the last one!

Life does go on, for sure. I can see this story coming to an end but with enough possibilities for a second volume featuring Ron and Toby. Great job!!

Wise move from Jeff where Ron is concerned: a scholarship that pays for Ron's education separately from Toby keeps him in control of his own life. Great chapter.
