    Khun would be perfect! It is totally neutral for age, gender, and social status. You and Spike would probably be better off. Phi Drew sounds like you have a sexual fetish because of the pronunciation. It also confers respect for the authority and position of the person you are talking to. Since Spike is in open rebellion, I don't think he wants to do that.🤔

    I forgot to add that I was ROFL with the school name. I had an two week internship at Kennedy Middle School as a requirement for my first teaching degree.

    I don't know if it is the difference of one decade later, or urban school verses the small town rural school I attended. This cafeteria sounds a lot more active and diverse than my own experience. I does sound like most of the cafeterias I sat in as a teacher later on in life. Excellent description Cole! I'm having a great time reading all the responses to this prompt. It's a teacher thing.

    If you are old like me, you might remember seeing duckboards in Westerns of the 1940's or 50's. The word origin is from WW I, for boards used to walk in the drenches. They weren't a reliable surface to walk on, because your foot slipped off the board like water off a duck.

    The forest, lake, fishing, hunting, hikes and home cooked food fresh each day would be heaven for me. It is sad the two boys have been separated. It's a fact of life when you are young. Looking forward to more with both boys. Great chapter Bill.

    I did a google lens scan. It came up with Chinaberry tree. It is supposed to be very fragrant.

    Yep! I had a chihuahua as a child. He was a loving companion. and fierce protector. Took on a Irish Setter that attacked my little brother and sent the other dog running. True story. I love flowering trees in the tropics.
