Hi Albert!

The House of Storms is a very well written novella filled with danger and suspense. It is also a time capsule of post WWII life in the USA. Ben Dane, his sons and their friends are off to a vacation that turns into a case for the famous detective. His boys Frank and Joe are very like the Hardy Boys, who with their friends are caught up in the case and help Ben gather information. It is an action packed adventure with a little romance for seasoning. It has an amazing plot with a deadly car chase, a Dark Magician, a Seer from India, a waking dead man, and a slithering assassin. Geron is a great storyteller and this is a great book to read on a dark, stormy night reading in bed with a flashlight. I highly recommend you read this book.

What an enjoyable read, Geron. Being born a few years after WWII I grew up in a time close to the setting of the story. You did a great job of researching the time. I could easily picture the places in my mind from your wonderful descriptions. It felt like I was reliving the time of my childhood. Reading the adventures of the Dane boys was so like the many Hardy Boys adventures I enjoyed as a young teen.

Laura this is one awesome chapter. I loved how you worked you humor into the night without spoiling one bit of the romantic love that was made. I was expecting Matty to say, “I am jealous and want only only for me.” However, it would have spoiled the cat characteristics Rusty loves about Matty. Of course Rusty is also spoiled for others by how he feels for Matty. Like Jonathon and Maddox, these two are doing everything except saying, "I love you." Rusty's confession that he needs both Matty and Catboy in his life was great. The only problem is Rusty doesn't realize he has both in one package. The birthday party will be very interesting. It would be even more interesting if Matty went as Catboy.😈

This is going to be a great prompt for stories. Expect a murder by the book response. 😁 A Columbo or Nero Wolfe style tale would be fun.

I had thought the will might be found in the hidden room, but commented in the previous chapter I was hoping mom might redeem herself. I can only console myself by saying, YES! I was right the first time about that conniving, self serving, neglectful b**ch! I can wait for the battle tomorrow when Marc, Sawyer and Finn trash the PUs and send them packing. I did get a laugh out of the fact Marc, trying to be quiet, managed to wake the others in the house. This was in comparison to Sawyer to using ninja skills to scare Marc, then beat him to the kitchen. This is a delightful chapter that compelled me to read as fast as I could.

Thanks to GG another tragic loss was turned into a miracle. Not only did she help Pepe join the family, but she also eased his fears and sadness at the loss of him mother. Pepe now knows he will be loved and protected by his new family. Wonderful chapter!

Got it and replied.

This is sad, but true especially sites with only one owner/administrator. I've seen many disappear over the last 20 years. I wish there were some mechanism to insure the stories on the other sights would be saved. GA has a great organization, so has little risk of folding. Unfortunately, there are only a handful of sites where there are enough administrators to keep things going.

Very funny Geron. I've read several of your stories more than once. I've got several more already lined up for the next couple of months.

Hi Everyone! I won't be around today. My best friend and I are going to lunch, coffee, a condo meeting, visiting a friend in the hospital this afternoon. Have fun.

Thanks for sharing Drew! The blog is a great idea. Loved the pics, especially the mountains.

You had to mention Nature Boy! So romantic.

I'm old enough to remember the Hardy Boys and anxious to see how Frank and Joe Dane are different! No sure I read this story before, but know I will probably love it.

There is a horrible price to pay in war, and the courageous people of Norway who survived Nazi occupation during WW2 know the price well. This story of Nils, Rune and the people of Norway is a powerful testament to courage and honor. Geron's elegant combinations of words to create visuals of the beauty of the country border on poetic. He applies the same skills to the emotions and actions of the characters. It is a reminder that even now we must not forget history, or it will be repeated. Romance, danger and triumph are infused in this must read tale.

This is one of my favorite short stories. I a glad I have the chance to read it once again. Now I am able to express how I am impressed by this story. It brings to life both the horrors and courage of those who fought against tyranny. The lovely and elegant words you combined to tell us the beauty of the country, the dangers faced by the freedom fighters in Norway as well the varied emotions of Nils and Rune demonstrate your talent as a writer. Thanks for sharing your art with us, Geron!

Do you think they'd mind a voyeur or two when they shower?

Thai King and Supreme Court of Thailand doesn't recognize your claim Drew.

That was a very unexpected twist to the plot. I did like the build up to the duel. The duel was well described, but Eduardo's skills were much weaker than what we were led to believe. The question is why Gideon did not want to complete the bond, especially since it would save his life. Conte Ballarin's invitation was also an interesting and unexpected twist. I anxiously wait for the next chapter!

I had to laugh at the teacher/student scene. You got it spot on. I'm sure a student might think a teacher doing his/her job is sadistic. The not yet mature Beckett's lack of sleep probably led to his inability to control his impulses and therefor his mouth. Parallax is becoming more interesting and substantial as a character. I would love to see the pattern created by the scratches. '

It seems unlikely that Marc will find the will. My wish is that Marc's mom will come thru and give the new will to the probate lawyer. It would show not only her love for her son, but also her own upbringing by Aunt May. I can't believe that she is so shallow as to not follow the lessons she learned from Aunt May. Turning over the newer will would do so much to heal the mother/son relationship she abandoned for a-hole. Marc would heal much faster and better knowing she gave up something so valuable for his sake. The part I liked most in the chapter is the hope for Finn and Sawyer re-establish the relationship they had as children. The fishing story did change things a-lot.

Hey Spike! Here's your reward.

Hey Bucket! You must be out shopping. You're too quiet. Hope all is good and the weather is great there.
