    We get very little snow here in middle Tennessee...about one inch total during all of last winter. I vividly remember the heavy snows I saw during two winters at Yosemite. There are some great pictures at Yosemite Snows.

    You are right, Dom. The world is full of them. You can't do anything about most of them. The wait at the pharmacy may have been an exception. You should have said, "Excuse me" and requested your prescriptions. I don't think you would have gotten any reaction from the people behind the counter other than a little embarrassment when they remembered why they were there...to serve the customer. If they did give you a negative reaction, you have other remedies, like complaining to the manager or going over the manager's head when you find that he/she is also a jerk. Pharmacies are slow enough on a good day.

    I'm using Windows XP and MS Outlook for e-mail. If I need to reduce a picture size, I just e-mail it to myself: Right click on picture/Send to/Mail recipient/Make all my pictures smaller That opens a new e-mail message with your reduced size picture already attached. When you receive the e-mail, you can save the reduced size picture and use it to upload to GA. BTW, nice picture, Mathieu!

    Another great chapter, Cliff. I'm still looking for Eric to start a relationship with Jansen. Is that going to happen? Will General Bradson's mission be successful? Will the volcano blow up in everyone's face? Will there ever be another cliffhanger-free chapter?

    Nick, I was one of those who said in a post that we must be willing to compromise, be patient, and persevere. I understand that we want what we want. But, we aren't going to get it now. We need to take what we can get. We need to build on each right we gain and show the majority that we are responsible citizens. I am convinced the day we come when gays have full rights equal to those of straight people. I for one am not yet impressed with Obama. I keep reminding myself that he is a politician. His agenda is one thing, his accomplishments may be another.

    Actually, you shouldn't light a new, fresh cigarette either. Yes, I think it means something like a cigarette butt. Come to think of it, it's something we should never have started; now it's something we need to step on...be sure it's stamped out...finished. Then we need only walk away with a concern about our future health.

    Don't smoke a cigarette, Steve. Please! I can tell you what happens when you do without cigarettes for several weeks and then smoke just one. You will be so sick you will want to throw up. Then, thirty minutes later, you will want another one. Just that easy...you are hooked again. Voice of experience here. I did that once and ended up smoking for another five years before I finally quit. As a cancer survivor (not lung cancer), I beg you to celebrate your success in kicking the habit every day...one day at a time. Each day you don't smoke a cigarette you are one day closer to healthy, pink lungs.

    Very good chapter, Cliff. I expect things to heat up on the General's mission in the next chapter; a lot of skulduggery is at work. I also expect things to heat up in one or more bedrooms. Now that the volcano has let off some steam, perhaps all the talk about cliffhangers will abate somewhat. Chapter 24 could easily be free of cliffhangers. It all depends on our esteemed goat.
