    Bi the Way...

Those hard words, spoken with the confidence of youth: you have to know what you want. But what happens when you want different than what is considered normal or acceptable? That’s Lex’s problem, and in a growing sense, the narrator’s. Great story.

    Foolish

So Lex convinces the narrator to continue, or at least to set aside his compunctions. It’s a very difficult thing for both men. At least our narrator chooses to see things from another’s point of view.
  3. For Simon, his phone is a lifeline. Not sure how he’d deal with life without a phone, But it would be better than life with his father, that’s certain.

    Desire

Braiding indeed - the plots are twining and braiding and getting deeper. I’m very fearful for Elias, happy for Mason and Jeremy, glad at Gary’s declaration. You’ll keep me on the edge of my seat.

    Mark Weber!

I really enjoyed reading this. Kelly is a great character; I’m glad you didn’t have to make him up.

    O Holy Night

How very sad. You remind us that all lives are holy. Thank you.

    The Raven

And soon to come is the intrigue and the tension for all those at Camp Refuge. All are excited, yet few know the danger. What remains wonderful are the connections, the sacrifices so many are making for each other. What Harlan does for Gary, Orson for Elias, Elias for Jeremy and the Raven Project, and on and on, these bind all of them into one great tale. I'll be awaiting the next chapter with a smile.
  8. You take me from the cold and grim and bring the summer's warm embrace; I would not call it chance or whim, but in the freezing winter, grace. Thank you.
  9. I am in your corner, thinking of you.

    Squall Line

I feel badly for Philippe, as he seems left all alone. Gerald leaving him in Paris like that seems very painful. I liked how you used light and the squall line as a metaphor for what Philippe has gone through and what he might get experience.
  11. What an interesting take on the ancient stories! You’ve brought so many dusty words to life. Thank you.

    Amuse Buche

Loved when the heart did that flippy thing. Perfect accompaniment to these hors d’oeuvres.
  13. You help us understand Pam better in this chapter. Even as she drives everyone batty, we can grasp what might be going on in her heart. Owen shows how hard he tries to overcome his anger without denying it; he very firmly tells Pam what he feels, yet he boils over only once. Thanks for another great chapter.

    Snowy Pizza

I enjoyed this story, especially after last night’s snow. It’s wonderful when fate or fortune bring two people together. Thanks for this.

    The Potluck

This is a beautiful story of love and care. Wayne and Dooley are the center from which love extends like ripples in a pond; you write that so well.

    Battle

You describe several battles going on, and each holds my attention: Gary’s battle against cancer, Elias’ battle with time and inspiration, and Jeremy’s battle with despair and alcohol. I’m also moved by the peaceable kingdom image I get from Harlan’s view of the campground. Looking forward to what happens next.

    Star of Wonder

I never met any chili I didn't like. I've tasted all sorts of marvelous variants, including venison and kielbasa chili. This is a wonderful tale of a very difficult situation. That white knuckle kind of driving you describe is enough to bring on a headache. You've written a lovely, mystic tale that needs no explanation. Thank you.

    Angelhair Pasta

Oh, this sounds like a scrumptious end to a beguiling story. I feel for the younger sister. Great revenge, too.

    Kimo Calendar

You’re very kind, my brother. It makes me happy that these brought you gladness.

    Kimo Calendar

I’m glad you noticed November. It’s no surprise that the winter and pre-winter months seem to get more lines and attention. The winter seems to last so long. I’m glad you liked that month particularly, as it was very satisfying. Thanks so much for reading and responding!

    Kimo Calendar

February took a very long time to write. The snapshot is harder to write than I imagined. I’m very happy you liked July. I have memories of being in the eternal outfield as a boy. Thanks very much for encouraging me in these.

    Kimo Calendar

You’re very kind. It seems that motionlessness is harder to write than it at first appears. February took forever to write. Thanks so much for reading these!
  24. You’re so right that holidays are often hell on those who have diabetes, gluten allergies or other food conditions. Dealing with uncomprehending friends and family hurts. You illustrate some real love - someone who cares, even though learning and changing for one's beloved is an effort. Thanks.

    Sweet Men

I enjoyed the kindness of Nathan and Drew as much as the Sweet Man recipe. They helped Karen remember that life can be full of kindnesses and sweet men.
