    An Uncommon Daisy

Thanks, Def. I'm glad you enjoyed it despite it not being the happiest of tales.

    An Uncommon Daisy

Thanks! I was determined to try and give it a proper finish. Sounds as though I succeeded.

    Mystery Machine

A laughter ... I was thinking what? And then you explained brilliantly. A wonderful story constructed out of two disparate words - I know I would've had trouble with them.

    An Uncommon Daisy

The word limit didn't leave much scope for description so you, as reader, had to do some of the work ...

    Courting Ruin

tim, your story made me smile and laugh. Good any time - but on yet another day of upsetting news (national, not personal), even better.

    My Champion

I'm with Puppilull - one space opera to follow.
  15. Javid opened the front door cautiously and peered out at the expanse of blueish-white. Looking down, he found a daisy. He stared, shocked, but then he remembered he still had a pencil somewhere. Was there any paper left? A picture, he wanted a picture of this little miracle. He couldn't remember the last time he'd seen any live flower, never mind a daisy. Since the start of last ice age, however many decades ago, anything green was rare, treasured, almost the stuff of fairytales. “Jay?

    Light Lunch

Wonderful, wonderful story and a masterclass in conversation. Thank you for both!
  17. I am always inspired by prompts - it's just that they're often not the current ones. 488 is the one brewing at the moment, as a change from my on-going chaptered story. Prompt to promote? I'll go for my most recent (not for arachnophobes) Incy, wincy spider .
  18. They are wonderful, and special to play. I don't know his more serious pieces, like the various symphonies. The Fanfare is a great piece, but I can never think of it without also thinking of Joan Towers' various Fanfares for the uncommon woman.

You can but not as before. You can either quote the comment using the quote button (and delete some of it, if you need to), or, you can mention the person you're replying to in your post. You can do this by using the @Ivor Slipper method.
  20. All the composers on the listing are worth exploring, including the two women (Lutyens and Tate). Bantock is a composer from my local city.

Like drought, I'm not a cat person but that didn't stop me from enjoying the story. It made a very interesting change.

Oh, Gary. I can only say I hope things will improve. Like tim, your poetry draws me in to what you are suffering and thinking. Sometimes, I wish it wasn't so powerful but that's only me.
  23. James, they're gorgeous pictures. You should post more in the gallery - they'd get so much more attention.

    I'm On a New Drug

If I know anything about you, tim, it's you're a fighter. And you have Michael and so many other people to help you in that fight to stay strong.
  25. It allows me to experiment and learn my trade at the same time. I love prompts.
