  1. As far I can tell, she's Stella McCartney, the designer and you would have thought she'd be well pleased with her efforts and how everything looks on the 'models'. Maybe she's too cool (or bored) to allow herself to smile.
  2. Thanks, guys. Three recommendations and I'm still chewing over a review for one of AC's neo G&S libretti - I think I'll be around this neighbourhood a fair bit ...
  3. When I commented on AC's photos of the Famous-Barr building I had no idea that they were there as props (sort of ) for this series of stories. Living on this side of the pond I have to say the name means nothing. I shall be adding these stories to my ever-growing reading list . The first piece of AC's that I read was Hubble which gave me (pleasurable) brain ache and took up residence in my head. These stories will hopefully be a less intense intro to AC's writing ...

    A Matter of Taste

Another delicious slice of torte (or maybe a flambeed dessert would be more appropriate ...). I love our hero's stream of (self) consciousness. The only thing that jarred slightly was him drinking the beer that he finds revolting rather than aiming it at a suitable target (Logan). Hope you manage to keep both this and My last day going at the same time.
  5. Yep! Both at work (perhaps not much of number 3!) and at home. Still amazes me how many people at work call a tech out at the first sign of trouble and watch them employ step 1 or 2 ...
  6. At school: aged 14-16 Macbeth, 16-18 King Lear. I suspect we only scraped the surface of Lear (unsurprising really!)and as such I didn't get much out of it. As a musician I never cease to be amazed by the amount and variety of music inspired by Shakespeare, whether written for or about the plays, settings of texts from the plays and sonnets, or written in honour of the playwright himself.
  7. I've been slowly making my way through your links: was the sand-covered church part of the inspiration for Lego (it certainly should have been!)? Really distinctive outline.
  8. Might that have something to do with the bdsm tag ... Must make time to read the next chapter (or two)
  9. I've only read 3 chapters so far but I can't visualise Joel with tattoos at all never mind that one. Although maybe that's because I'm not into tattoos ... Really enjoyed the story so far - the all-pervading sense of cold (accompanied by snow and darkness) is very real.
  10. Although if Quinn keeps adding chapters, the 'binge' would have to be spread over several days (with breaks) to avoid sugar overload - so not really a binge at all! Puppilull, just discovered your stories yesterday and adding them to the list of things for me to read. Just too much good stuff here. Quinn, thanks for yesterday's installment.
  11. I've been keeping up with the new chapters avidly - reading each one has been a sort of chocolate substitute ... I can certainly imagine binge reading from the start again!

    Collide

I really like how our two heroes complement each other now, taking it in turns to soothe, encourage and restrain the other. The feeding frenzy of a social media / news organisaiton is well depicted - trying to find anything to move the story along (I do hope there wasn't a camera in their favourite elevator ...). Looking forward to what Coach is going to add to the mixture.

    Chapter 1

Come into my parlour said the spider to the fly. This fly might be willing and eager and the spider might be a decent banker sorry! human being but I feel there are definite echoes there. Maybe the banker is skewing my judgement ... Looking forward to reading the other chapters (to prove me wrong?).

    Chapter 36

Wow! What a start to the chapter: justice dispensed. Although I'm a little sad to see Michael go - who's going to take his place as someone to hate? I'm really enjoying this story and surprising myself a little because shapeshifters are not my usual fare.
  15. I love the guilty pleasure this romcom represents (and no prior knowledge of ice hockey needed, either!). It strikes me as potential film / TV script material (hope this doesn't strike you as an insult ..) - maybe you'd also be able to suggest possible actors or role models?! Do you experience the same gulity pleasure when writing this? Looking forward to finding out how our heroes avoid the raging paparazzi. Thanks, Quinn!
  16. This is exactly how I feel about this novel. The episodes in the cinema and at Christmas are two that keep on coming to mind (and others). Yes, an intention to reread one bit always seems to lead to a more extended stay....! Thanks, Parker for a story that grabbed my head and my heart.
  17. That was quick! I'm off to read it now ...
  18. Being new(ish) I've only just discovered this thread. I really enjoyed reading CC so far and I'm looking forward to the next chapter (along shortly?!) Haven't got round to writing a proper review yet ... Thanks Tim!
  19. I'm following this story with interest - i can't say that I'm enjoying it exactly because I have too many ambivalent feelings around the main relationship. The domination, control and infantilisation of Noah are things I find unsettling. As the previous reviewer commented, the willing acceptance of a tracking device on your phone is something most people wouldn't countenance in any circumstances. So far, Noah doesn't seem to agree ... See what happens next...?

    About Time

I'm really enjoying this romcom - yes, it's sexy but also touching, engaging and funny. A real antedote to a working day. I hope the 24 hours stretches out as long as possible!
