  1. Thanks for reading, JeffreyL. I'm glad you're enjoying the story.
  2. Thanks, tim. I'm going have to have Adam take Robert to all the Tourist Traps in Tampa. LOL
  3. Thanks for reading, BabyXander! I almost went with my old High School, but went with Jefferson instead, because they are the Dragons. LOL. There's a short list of places for them to go, but a game at Amalie will be one.
  4. In my opinion, Paranormal is its own genre. Some things can be considered both, like magic, but for the most part, I see it as a standalone.
  5. Thanks for reading, Reader. Yes, Tobit is going to be huge... 🙀🙀 The conversation between Adam and Tobit opens up Chapter 3, and so far is the only thing I've written. It's already pushing over 1000 words for that phone call.
  6. Agreed. I have been doing them a lot lately.
  7. Yes, they are there. It's the Lightning's 25th Anniversary year, and tonight they did the top 25 Lightning Players of all time, so they had to be there. LOL. Though Rob was not happy about Tuesday 4/3/18 Lightning's 4-0 win over the Bruins.
  8. Thanks for reading, Glennish. Yeah, Robert has some secrets, that he's not ready to give up just yet. His father and paternal grandparents are very supportive. As for the hockey game... Lightning 5 - Panthers 4 in OT. Brayden Point #21 scored the OT Winner. (Was the Tuesday, March 6, 2018 game. LOL)
  9. Thanks for reading, Chapter 2 as well, daemok. I own the inner turmoil that Robert went through in the beginning to @Mikiesboy. He rightly so, pointed out, I needed to add more insight into Robert's character there. I won't lie, Duncan cooking Pancakes, Eggs, and Bacon was because I was hungry, and smelling it cook while writing the chapter. It's the little things that inspire us when we write. Yes, Adam does like to lavish on his loved ones. However, you'll see a different side to Adam in Chapter 3 to start because of < REDACTED >! I've been around that style of parenting too, for alcohol. I semi-agree with it. I think it depends on both the child and parent. They both need to be mature enough to handle such things. Adam and his brother Tibot... Oh, I so want to spoil... Thanks again for reading, and for the feedback.
  10. Thank for reading, jp. Yeah, if I was Adam, I' be suing the state of Massachusetts as soon as I found out. There is a statistic that I read, and I posted it once on GA about Homeless Youth in America. It's like 55% of homeless youth in America are GLBT. They are also the most physically and sexually assaulted in homeless shelters, and in foster care, with a percentage close to 85% being assaulted. They also come from all demographics, and political stripes of families too. (CDC-2016)
  11. Thanks for reading, and for the feedback, Potterslashfan. I agree with you on the part of Rob being a tad too well adjusted. I think he is hiding a lot of his feelings, and the counseling to come will help them.
  12. Yeah, same here. I hadn't thought about all the cliffhangers recently.
  13. Thank you very much for reading, and for the comment, daemok. If this had a remained a stand-alone chapter/story, I'm glad it did come across as a 'feel good' chapter. I've noticed, I tend to put a lot of first- and second-hand accounting into my stories. The hiccup with the foster care agency is taken from one such experience. A friend of mine was in foster care for several months, and there were delays because of family members fighting in the courts. I did want to show that when dealing with a government agency, stuff like that happens all the time. I was laughing when I had them wear the same outfit, as I felt it was too cute. Wanted a way from them to bond quickly, and a shared love of Hockey seemed like a good fit. I'm glad you liked the pictures. I fell in love with that house and had to use it in a story.
  14. Chapter 2 is now published. Chapter 3 is being written.
  15. Thank you, Daddydavek. I was hoping the exchange with Duncan would be good and eased any concerns people had from the first chapter. The sex talk was a bit of surprise for me as well, but it fits in what I had planned with the chapter. Yeah, the family bit needs to be addressed in the next chapter. In the notes, I gave Adam one younger sibling and that they didn't talk to each other. (I have some more notes on why.) The cliffhanger was a good point to jump to the next chapter, as this one was getting a little long for me. I want to try to keep them under 5K words. Thanks again for reading, and for the feedback.
  16. Thanks for reading, and for the comment booklove. Chapter 3 is being written now, so It'll be here soon.
  17. Thanks for reading, mayday. Yeah, the chapter was getting a little long in the tooth, so the cliffhanger seemed like a good jump point for chapter 3. Already have a good portion of that convo written.
  18. Thanks, tim! I really appreciate the help you've given me so far in these two chapters. Already started Chapter 3.
  19. Waking up early on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, Robert looked around the room he had chosen and wondered where he was. It took a couple minutes for his brain to kick in, and he sighed when realization dawned on him that this was his new home. Robert was only in foster care for a little over a month, but in that time he had been in three different houses, including a group home, and was physically assaulted twice by other teens for being gay. He looked out the window into the backyard and across t
  20. More to add to the "To Read" list.
  21. Welcome to GA @NapoleonAChase!
  22. Last week, I entered into a discussion about my work here on GA, with some fellow writers. Willingly, of course, and described to them my serial story The Half-Elven Warlock. I included what is already publicly known and published on this site, and my outline and worldbuilding documents. All my behind the scene secrets that not even my editing team knows, and other details about my world The Fairie. This discussion was frank, and I knew they would intentionally pick it apart to tell me, where I might be lacking. By the time it was over, I was depressed, angry, boarderline in tears, and sorely tempted to go through GA and remove every trace of my existance online. Beware of Advice, Insight from others, and Feedback from different sources. That's my topic this week. Have you ever recieved advice, feedback, or insight, that made you want to rage quit?
  23. Dogs and Cats have a way to transcend from being pets to being members of the family. I still miss my cat, Ace. She chose me, out of all the others in the house, and I still can't talk about her without, a bit of a tear-up. Hugs, tim.
