OK why the big change with Jack's mother all of a sudden. Not that I think she could not change but it was pretty quick.Speculating she spoke to Jeff about his parents at the restuarant.That night when she left for awhile maybe she spoke to Jeff's parents and they managed to get though to her a little. Combine that with Jack's Dad hinting he's fed up with her and seeing how helpful Jeff was maybe she's finally getting it.Tracy could be partially right about if Jack was with Jeff she might calm down.This is a good development. Note to Jack:Sometimes all of us are celebrate.Yeah you better google that word.

I figured Richie would have to be the one to make the first move.He actually talked about it with Mike.I wonder why Mike never broached the subject with Jimmy while they were in high school Mike knew Jimmy well enough to know that if he was wrong Jimmy wouldn't freak out him.Jimmy and Richie make a great couple. It was cool how Jimmy grandparents included Richie and Nick as their "Grandsons".How are the church members going to act when it's apparent that Jimmy and Richie are not brothers?I'm Catholic most of my parish would be ok but I know some wouldn't.Are Anglican's sort of like Catholic's with a few difference's?What is their position on same-sex couples?

Cam wonders if Finn is wrong about Rory.But Rory and Finn are closer then most brothers so Finn isn't wrong.Given how different Rory and Finn live as compared to other teenagers in Ireland and The U.S. I'm guessing they haven't many dealing with other gay teens or people for that matter so Rory could be a bit naive on this topic.Cam might have to be the one to take the initiative

It's the cynical side of me.IRL it can be that simple.In a gay male fiction story it's almost never that simple LOL.I was being somewhat facetious.But who knows

Don't get me wrong I think Nick is a great guy but Jimmy might be being a bit naive here.He likes Nick around to keep Richie company you what that's a recipe for.Up until now they slept three to a bed out of necessity but Bran and Charles are leaving and Nick could sleep where they were sleeping.But he still wants to sleep thee to a bed HMM.Although all of them are not that far along in their sexual thinking with the possible exception of Nick could a three-way happen between them. This is no biggie but a couple of things about going to a laundromat.They could have done it in the main house as long as they did it themselves and not had Marie do it.It didn't sound like it should an issue.And the Grandparents place has almost everything else you would a washer and dryer for the apartment would be a no-brainer

Good Chapter. I really don't see why Jimmy just can't say he's gay at this point.Now as far as being a BF with Richie now that I get.He really doesn't want to hurt Richie because he's a good guy.They are going to the same school and living in the same place so just at first be really good friends and if things progress I think both will be smart enough to recognize that.I'm making it sound so simple so maybe its time for something to happen to make things complicated ,it's not supposed to be that simple right?

Good story of course any story by @Geron Kees is.I'm going to have to read this at least a couple more times because I'm sure I missed stuff.Lot of questions here so I'm sure we will be seeing these guys in the future .Can't wait

Did I miss something earlier?Richie's dad said "He's the only one I have left"Did Richie also have a sibling or was he just referring to his wife? Everyday Jimmy is put in a different department.I think the so called mistakes are being planted there to see if Jimmy will find them.I'm guessing to trying to determine what Jimmy does best and so far he does everything good. After hearing that conversation with Nick and Richie I say go for it Jimmy

If Nick wants to go to Ohio state because of someone of the opposite sex then that three to a bed thing will have to change. Jimmy might already be entitled to a promotion and not because he's the grandson but on merit

I'm late to this story I've been binge reading this and man I am exhausted emotionally.I'm sure I'm echoing what others have said here but this does happen and it makes one want to scream. Zack has awesome friends.Only a really really good straight freind will let you grab his ass cheeks lol. Can't wait for what the plan is.

Very understanding of Jimmy if it was me I wouldn't have made a scene or anything but I don't think I would have been as casual about it either.Nick will be going back home soon right? If he was there longer it would be in the back of my mind as they're only human you know. I love how much of a big family they are.I feel bad for Jimmy and Brand's mom because of her homophobic husband she's isolated from her sons.I never want to encourage someone leaving their spouse but she also has a right to have a relationship with her sons.

Loved the chapter.Forgive me for being cynical but since the story is not ending here I'm wondering what complication can happen.I guess that can be Kyle graduating and you said State is 2-3 hours away.If it's me I would be willing to wait and only see each other on weekends and spring and winter break and I bet Kyle would also.Jake and Danny still have a bond and Danny showed some signs of maturing in this chapter.Can spending a year with a changed more mature Danny complicate things. Jake saying to Mr. McHenry "Kyle wants to tell you something" Well it worked but I think it was inappropriate for Jake to do.It could really blown things up.I do know his heart was in the right place. Initially you didn't say Kyle's drawing was a nude drawing so Mr.McHenry's comment“Impressive, Finnegan,” he said. “I wouldn’t have guessed.” Cracked me up

Good chapter. Jimmy and Richie took the first step.Baby steps but still steps. Jimmy has determined that Nick is straight but it sure seemed like Nick liked sleeping three to a bed. Back where Jimmy's parents live I don't know how big or small of an community it is but there may be gossip on why Richie got hurt.If Jimmy's dad hears about that and then finds out that Chris lives with Jimmy then maybe Jimmy is outed.

I always suspected the really smart students with the high GPA wasn't distracted with BF/GF issues.And they weren't all nerds some of them were athletes and cute.One trait they all seemed to share was they were all quiet Jimmy seemed to fit that somewhat.Speaking for myself noticing someone hot was always a big distraction for me when it came to school work.I remember thinking at the time these smart guys must never think of these things I'm thinking otherwise their GPA wouldn't be as good. Every chapter keeps getting better and better

Just discovered this story and now I'm all caught up I like what I'm reading. I see in the chapter That James was introduced as Jaime .I live right next to the border in San Diego I grew up and a had a number of friends or co-workers named Jaime none of them ever went by James although one of them did go by Jamie.Did you come across this?

I would agree with that usually but in this case Kyle is going to be at nearby Penn State if they wanted to continue it would be more doable.There will still be a lot of time Jake and Danny will have without Kyle being there so a lot could happen. BTW if a messy room is a sigh of genius then I should have been Stephen Hawking and Albert Einstein roiled into one.

Is that why Kyle and Billy can easily talk to each other?If I recall conversing wasn't one of Billy's strengths. No biggie here and I know its coming close to the end but is it possible Aiden can make a cameo I liked that character

I agree something might be off bout Kyle. The way he was described writing poetry, excellent musician ,good student etc. then to find out he has a messy room was unexpected. Danny seems cool with things now but I suspect there will be future issues. @Wesley8890 alluded to this a little last chapter there are some parallel's from WAR.In WAR Billy and Dustin were friends then Brett got in the picture and Dustin hated Brett, here Jake and Danny were best buds and now Kyle in the picture and Danny if not hates certainly dislikes Kyle.There are differences's of course but the similarities are interesting. How about having Mr.Reilly ask Kyle to help Danny for next year. some good stuff can come from that. Kevin,Keith and Kenny.I'm a Kenny and a lot of times growing up I've been called both Kevin and Keith by people In a few cases they never stopped.Makes me think a number of families did that exact same thing with naming their sons.

I think I might have misunderstood it. I thought a lowercase xd meant extreme excitement or happiness.So my interpretation of the message was when is the next chapter I'm excited about it.If I'm wrong Im sure somebody here will let me know how stupid I am.

Are we going to continue to see an expanded role for Brent?We found out a lot about him. If that happens I hope it's because Danny says to himself 'I can't keep living this way".You know the saying. when someone marries a person that is similar to their mother people will say 'You married your Mom" or "I married my Mom".If Jake and Danny marry then people could say to Jake "You married your Dad"

When Jake said "We never did get back together"Is that a permanent statement?Is Jake narrating the story from that moment in time or is Jake telling the story from say a year or so in the future? Ryan/Jake jock/band geek comparison I don't think is valid because Ryan doesn't have those stereotypical Jock qualities. @jkwsquirrel had Mr.Reilly be dyslexic and if I remember right Billy had Aspergers so with that in mind Could Danny have some condition that makes him act the way he does. Since @jkwsquirrel likes to throw curves here's a scenario.Jake is willing to be with Kyle doing things Kyle's way like not bringing his phone(whoa).So if Jake and Kyle get close then maybe Jake gets Kyle to go to a party by saying something like "I've done your things you like to do now try something I like to do".It would take maybe only 1-2 beers for Kyle to get drunk so under those conditions maybe Kyle and Danny?😲 If you want to be optimistic you have it where Danny tells Jake "I couldn't do it because I knew it would hurt you". Hey I"m not writing this just my random goofy thoughts. BTW why was this chapter called Ft. McHenry? Did I miss something?
