haha. Before I moved to California, I just assumed that it was one big suburb from state line to the coast. Who knew there were rural parts.
I only live 2.5 hours away from my folks and I only manage to visit about once a year . Thank goodness I get credits for phone calls .

I'm with that Kevin person ...
While I can't wait for the world to be a place where it didn't matter whether someone was straight or gay (or however they want to label themselves), we certainly aren't there yet.
I feel it is our responsibility to march, demand, or do whatever we can to make it an easier place for the younger set. My life as a gay man is soooo much easier than it was for someone 20 years ago.
Pay it forward dudes

You may never be rich, or look as 'hot' as you think you need to be, but there are people out there (some your own age ) who will find you attractive.
You ask what you should do. I'd suggest learning to like yourself. Yes you may have some faults, but you're a decent guy. Others see that, you should do.
And also, quit worrying about all this B.S. If you need to distract yourself, throw yourself into your schoolwork
Decent boyfriend and such will all come soon enough
Nice Pictures, thanks for sharing! It's great to put some faces with screen names
Vic (who's extra giddy because if Joe is a fashion barometer - it seems that skinny ties are back in style and I have a ton of them from the late 80s )
No worries, I've sent some other requests to be passed along to other attendants, but due to their private nature (and they may be considered illegal in some states) those went through PM .
I hope everyone who's going will have a great time!
Oh, can someone give Joe a noogie on the head for me? Thanks!
Vic (who's not even sure noogies are given in this day and age)
The LA times has a good interactive fire map. I'm not sure if you have to be registered, but here's a link

I seem to recall that Rory (in describing Seth) said that Seth was as tall as Aaron & Luke, but had a broader chest/upper body than both Luke & Aaron. Since Seth wasn't described anywhere else as a muscular, than I'd infer that Luke was probably just muscular in the toned sense, as opposed to bulky.

P.S. - When I see our Leo's picture, I think of Eminem
I remember as a little kid that my friends and I LOVED that song, but way back then, the gay themes weren't as obvious.
I wonder...Let's say MTV was around when YMCA first came out. Do you think it would be just as popular? I could see my parents having a fit if they saw that video .
OH MY!!! I thought I misunderstood you! Luke being on the wrestling team is a key factoid. Luke & Dave (and some of the others) were on the wrestling team. Aaron used to be on the wrestling team too, but was shunned/booted off when the team sided with Luke. You do know that Rick Leto is on the swim team, right?
I think you're going to have to re-read Desert Dropping. And this time don't skip the sex scenes. It sounds like you've missed more of the story than I thought!

I'm curious why you think it's lame too. Are you coming from the POV that 'Coming Out' isn't a big deal anymore? Because I'd be happy as a big old gay camper if society has come that far that most people didn't think it was a big deal whenever a gay person came out.
Maybe I'm old school, but I have the impression that many people would still be shut out, beat up, or kicked out for coming out. For anyone to come out in any of those situations just so they can stop living a lie should still be celebrated.
I look forward to the day when people will sit around and feel that coming out isn't a big deal and that the 'Day' was created as a Hallmark conspiracy to sell more merchandise.
'Ugh, I can't believe that it's only August and the stores are filled with National Coming Out Day merchandise. Have they no shame?'
