Flight of the Navigator I love that movie as a kid, not to mention Paul Reuben, aka Pee Wee Herman, was the voice of Max, the AI. Interesting that the computerized voice of the ship morphed into Paul Reuben's voice after copying David's memories. When it comes to the queer connections, I think there are fewer degrees than Kevin Bacon.

Elliot Taylor: My life changed when I was ten years old, but no one remembers what happened. I made a friend, who became something more than human words can describe. I could feel his pain, he could feel my sadness. At times, it felt like we were one being with one spirit. He opened my mind and eyes to the beauty of everything around us and helped me feel less alone despite the bullying I endured. Before I met him, I started having feelings of physical attraction, mostly for a certain girl

Elliot and David both had their lives changed by encounters with Extraterrestrial life as children. While most have seen or heard of their tales, it is not the end of their strange adventures. Their stories continue as they traverse the realms of possibilities beyond imagination.

I review stories that interest me on GA or for new writers that need the extra incentive to keep going, like myself. However, most of my reviews on GA storeies are short. For published writing like novels and book series, I follow a synopsis and review format that I used to use in my book reaction reports for High School. I find that too be the genuine way of writing a thorough review of a book. Yes, there will be spoilers and there are pointed critiques in there.

When I write, I create worlds and characters bigger than myself, but at times, they are representative parts of me. They hold all my fears, my hopes, and my dreams of what reality could be. Last year, I was riding high after finding a new job that was more fulfilling, finishing my goal of reading 100 gay stories from across all genres (Haven't written all the reviews, but you can get a hint of my varied reading), and being in better health than I have been in decades with new corneas. Then, something happened, I stopped writing, stopped dreaming. People might have noticed, I have fallen off. I don't know what exactly caused it to happen: was it a change of focus, the need for new goals, or the fact that someone used my stories from GA and represented it as their own on Youtube? Maybe it was a bit of everything and I've been trying to find that spark again to write, share what I've read, and dream. There aren't that many people that write reviews on GA like I did when I first started, very few people in our community offer reviews and ratings on published work. To me, sharing my opinions and reading interests is offering a door for others to open and explore. In terms of storytelling, I prefer to experiment and take the roads less traveled, but familiar to those that know the destination. I don't know what story I can tell right now, what story can re-ignite my spark for writing, but I do want to find it again. If there's any muses out there, please show me where I must go.

Father Christmas, Krampus, Santa Claus, Saint Nicholas, and Kris Kringle
W_L commented on Cole Matthews's blog entry in Writing World
I learned about Krampus from B-Horror movies Christmas is a joyous time of warmth and togetherness, but remember it was originally a pagan holiday with libations and wild sexual orgies before being co-opted by Christians to celebrate the birth of Christ, which technically would not be December 25th. If I were to write a story about the original Christmas, I am not sure if GA's site policies would allow it. -
Train an annihilape up, you will love him. Mankey needed the third stage as Primeape just hasn't seen any love over the last few gens. Ghost/Fighting type is a fun dual form and the evolution by move use was a neat a little gimmick for this old-school monkey boxer. I wish there was a way to link this game up with Legends Arceus, I want my Hisuan Goodra to play.

Walking Through Dark Places short story is now live
W_L posted a blog entry in Life is worth an entry
I was inspired to write this through my prompt, someone who live their life in complete denial of themselves. It's a very interesting portrait of a man who is trapped in a world of his own creation, probably filled with regrets, compromises, and desires. It's a psychological story about accepting mortality and accepting reality even if it's bleak. Additionally, readers will probably figure out that the young man in my story was murdered. I took inspiration on this from a certain gay serial killer that has made his rounds on Netflix recently, but I won't mention his name. I will not celebrate evil, though I will explore it. Hope folks like this very short horror story -
Waiting in the middle of the night is a scary thing to do, but it’s a prerequisite for gay hookups in the modern world, especially when you’re not out and proud. I married a woman I do not love, but I cannot leave her due to obligations. I cannot admit my sexuality to my family, because their sense of morality is binary between light and darkness, homosexuality would fall on the latter. I live in the public eye as the youngest state senator at age 26, representing a very conservative district. I

Chapter 1 - The Fraternity House
W_L commented on Bill W's story chapter in Chapter 1 - The Fraternity House
@Bill WGlad you took up my prompt and I enjoyed this story. Daniel's plight isn't explained, which is the point about horror and the fear from the unknown. You don't need monsters, ghosts, or unnatural forces acting overtly, just a hint of it is enough to be frightening. It reminds me of the story of Roanoke and the mysterious disappearance of the colonist, which I am not sure if you were going in that direction, but it's a nice unsolved mystery to this day. -
The next day was full of activity as the Xie household began their preparation for Xie An, the prime minister, and their illustrious head, to head into court for official business. Xie Lian was accustomed to courtly practice as both the Crown Prince and later as the Guoshi 国师1 of Yong’An when he was known as Fang Xin. Xie Lian had participated in courtly rituals from the proper grooming techniques that involve certain lengths of hair, beards, and even fingernails to the colors of robes between i

@Valkyrie The theme for the last anthology was fun and open-ended, I am only one story short of reading all the stories (Primal Park will be the last one and everyone knows I like Sci-Fi/Fantasy so that one I am savoring ). Several writers, myself included, were really captivated by the concepts surrounding anniversaries, because it was a universal concept.

I agree science and fantasy can intersect, even in the genre of gods and magical creatures. it's just a matter of perspectives. One of the reasons why I enjoy TGCF/Heaven Official's Blessing is that magic isn't the solution to every issue, but it is something that grows and develops with the user. That's sort of how eastern fantasy operates in a nutshell with magic, while there are a set of principles and ideas to follow, the application of it is based on an individuals ability.

Chapter 10 It took a bit longer than usual to publish a new chapter of this story, but sometimes, good things come to those who wait I know I am opening up a lot of knowledge in this chapter about the ancient world, the nature of cultural differences, urban organization, and some respective observations about both Chinese and Roman/Western Civilization. They're both looking at the world through different lenses, but there's also some fallacies that each side holds in regard to themselves and the other. Christians, especially the missionaries, during this era were idealists, hoping to create a world where everyone embrace the Roman-Christian ideal. The Nicene Creed had recently been approved 325 AD, where the absolute divinity of Jesus Christ and core tenets of Catholicism, Eastern Orthodox, and Protestantism was formed. After centuries of endemic factionalism and disunity among Christian beliefs, the new centralized ideology created renewed hope as it ended strife within the Roman Empire through the unity of a "single God" and "single empire". However, such renewal was short-lived as Rome would fall in less than a century to "Christianized" barbarians. Effectively, men like Antonius would be on a Quixotic quest with pyrrhic victories, but they held high ideals and dreams for something that sadly did not exist, except in false euphoria. Chinese Civilization also had its own issues too as I noted before with the mixing of another Barbarian rule, such as the Di, who renamed their nation as the "former Qin", in order to show they wished to rule under the same rights as the Qin Dynasty from earlier times. Urban decay and issues with the organization were also rampant, since the fall of the Han Dynasty and the Three Kingdoms period, cities had become disorganized with large waves of refugees. Historically, under Xie An and other capable Prime Ministers of the Southern Dynasty, Jiankang became of the few rays of hope in the world. By the middle of the 5th century, the city was able to house more than a million people, which is a testament to urban planning and organization. As promised, I opened magic in my story. Magic in my story is something understandable and unknown at the same time because it does not operate under the same frame of reference as some other fantasy stories with fixed rules. In order to use it properly, you must understand the basics of science and material interactions between energy and matter. Observation and continual improvement with knowledge of interactions would be how you gain advancement in the use of magic along with the accumulation of energy and matter itself.

Chapter 10: The city of Jiankang was originally called, Jianye1 建業. It was one of the provincial capitals in the Han Dynasty governing the southeastern region of Wu, ruled by the Sun family. During the Three Kingdom period, one of its members Sun Ce would make this city his capital for the State of Wu. When the capital fell to barbarian armies, it became the new capital of Jin under Emperor Yuan. The city was renamed Jiankang to avoid an ancient taboo of naming your capital and nation with

Lovely romance, the story is beautiful in its sentimentality. Paul and Woodrow shine in their characterization with a common tragedy binding them.
