    Chapter 15

Reggie may stop writing in that journal, but I think he’ll probably keep writing his thoughts down in some form or another somewhere. He’s already realized that he enjoys seeing the progress he’s made since he started writing in it. He knows it helps him think things through too. The journal has been a significant part of transforming him from being so introspective all the time! ;-)

An American Werewolf in London and Alien are my favorite horror movies – as you can see I’m not a huge fan of the genre, so my favorites cross into other genres.
  3. I can’t speak for Dave, but no one would ever be able to convince me to wear rompers/step-ins or any form of shorts (saggy or not). Even if he was the perfect guy who ticks off every single box on my very, very long fantasy ‘ideal man’ list (‘must own magic wand’ [to fix me] is one of those items on the list). I often wore very short short-pants (not to be confused with short-shorts) back in the ‘70s and into the ‘80s. I was very skinny in my teens and 20s. But that was a long time ago… ;-)
  4. I’ve already started a Frameline41 topic. I will sllllooooooooowwwwwwwlllllllllyyyy be posting my thoughts on the movies I saw. My comments will mostly be brief and not really reviews. However, I will mention whether I liked/disliked or recommend them. If you’re in a hurry to read some reviews of F41, one of my friends has a blog and he’s way more serious about his reviews (he even takes notes). He also has access to screener copies of some of the movies since the festival categorizes him as a journalist. Just a warning that I disagree with at least two of his ratings (one that he liked and one that he disliked), but in general I think his opinions are fairly similar to mine. Many of the directors or producers mentioned that their films already have distribution deals. Among the most commonly mentioned venues were limited theatrical releases, DVDs, Netflix, Amazon Prime, iTunes, Hulu, and YouTube. And, of course, additional film festivals. There were also some that will appear on networks and channels like HBO, Showtime, BBC, the UK’s Channel 4, and even Lifetime! I also saw a few shorts that are part of web series.
  5. Frameline41 has concluded, so I now have time to catch up on my reading. I noticed some weirdness, but I don’t have the energy to try to decipher them. I’m skipping the corrections for a while… I like Matt. 😉 During the Q&A after the Fun In Boys Shorts program, one of the directors (who was given the nickname ‘Potato’ by his mother) mentioned a series of fairytale-themed short films he had done. One was Cinderella, another was a very weird amalgamation of The Little Mermaid and Tom of Finland (which he was there in support of), and Peter & the Wolf. I thought you might find that to be inspirational…
  6. I just got home from ten days of 10-12 hours watching LGBTQ films! Add 1½ - 2½ hours of commute time in each direction (bus, BART, and Muni Metro). Today, because of the parade, BART’s maximum length 10-car trains were packed solid from Oakland to San Francisco leaving some people stuck on the platform. I am totally exhausted. I’m watching the parade on TV – an independent station is showing it from 6pm until 11pm. When I get through my Notifications, I’ll try to find the energy to add to the Frameline41 thread. And I’ll be sleeping for the next couple days… ;-)
  7. I think if you give in and accept society's stereotypes, then you start thinking, 'I cannot dance till late at night because I'm 70.' ~Yoko Ono

  10. I hope you got to do one of your favorite things on your birthday: torture one of your characters (and I mean this in only the nicest[?], most sincere way)! ;-)

    Chapter 13

The Addams Family Saga would suggest something entirely different! ;-)
  12. Well we know Billy’s mom has been less and less accepting of things she sees as sins and sinful behavior.
  13. Wow, strong! Love it!
  14. Vulnerability is not weakness. And that myth is profoundly dangerous. ~ Brene Brown

So deeply touched. Nearly out of words. But this: Love you.
  16. Damn straight! You can cry about anything you want to today! It's your day!
  17. Happy Birthday! I wish you the best!
  18. Yeah, it’s interesting how you can sometimes tell when someone knows that you’re Gay even if no one wants to say it out loud! There are subtle differences in the ways things are said and just the way they interact with you. George is not a stupid person. Brett has been around a whole lot more and more often than the vast majority of straight friends would – and the interactions between Brett and Billy are probably pretty obvious to anyone who pays attention!

I'm not well versed on the subject of poetry, but this went straight to the heart. Nicely done.

  21. It's hard for me to believe that this song is 20 years old. Kudos to Jakob Dylan for not getting stuck in the tall shadow of his father. And what about those eyes?
  22. just for you, Lux. Smile, plz - this music insists
  23. Thanks, Lux, and warms hugs for you, my buddy, today
