    Chapter 10

Adored this chapter; just sweet on so many levels. Love Sam, every family should be blessed with a little on like him. I really like your choice of songs in the last few chapters; just perfect.

    Chapter 9

I fully agree that living in touch with the land grounds you and gives you a better understanding of the seasons and how they truly flow and effect both the natural world and ourselves. I really enjoyed this chapter, well written and the pacing was good. I don't need a story to be linear in format; but there seems to be a lot of back and forth without much explanation as to why; this is making it a little harder to follow this story and stay with it.

    Chapter 8

I know that Squirt and Eddy only came together because of the tremendous loss they both felt they had suffered; but what they had meant something. There will have to be some repercussions on some level from this.

    Chapter 7

Often the best men in war are not the ones that glorify it or seek glory in it; but are the ones that simple do their duty to the best of their individual abilities. Serving in the military, even in a time of war can make a person a better person; because they have seen the worst of mankind and survived it.

    Chapter 6

    But what about Eddy?

    Chapter 5

WTH, leave it to the US military to screw something like this up...

    Chapter 4

Lovely chapter, but I was almost confused; this seemed a strange sense of timing to do a flashback like this. I would have expected it either later in the story; or just to tell it before the previous chapter.
  8. Honestly, I know that Tyler has been through a lot but starting to feel that he is just too dumb to live...

    Chapter 17

What a lovely chapter; only to end with vile and deceit. Lady Neith's warning may be more important than anyone could possible realize.
  10. Great chapter and interesting how getting old never changes...

    Chapter 19

The scene in the bank was just too cute... But, Jimmy will come completely unglued if the rogue is tracking Sawyer. Not sure the rogue has been near Sawyer's house at least not yet, as often as Jimmy has gone wolf and followed Sawyer around the trails and back home, I would think he would have picked up the scent of another wolf. This chapter just vibrated with so much tension and suspense. Can't wait to see what happens next.

    Chapter 37

I loved how Granger handled the Countess; it was like watching a great Maestro directing a beautiful symphony. Granger, as usual, has done the right thing and filled in Winkler, Jacobs, and the other two with what it going on and how to handle things if they turn south. They will at least have some guidance on how to help them and get the information to the right people. Mark, this was simply a remarkable chapter, the writing was crisp and the pacing was first rate.
  13. This just made me sad.
  14. Honestly, there are people that just truly don't deserve to live; it is strange but they usually have good families or friends. I believe some are just born bad... Will was one of them.
  15. A wonderful first chapter; the writing and pacing were excellent. I too love westerns; was never the way the movies made it out to be in reality, but have always enjoyed them.

    Arguments

Damn, have to wonder what hit his shoulder and what type of damage there is. I realize that without thread for four hundred turns everyone got use to living life as if it was never coming back; but now that it has returned, it will probably every turn or at least more often than four hundred years. Holders and others are going to have to start going back to some of the old ways of growing, building, and doing other things.
  17. I read this in two settings after the story was finished. I realize it is sometimes hard looking at the dates of the chapter posting to stay with a story when there are large time gaps; that being said, this was an interesting story that had fascinating characters. The development was slow but steady and well done. This is not a story for everyone; but those that like unique settings and characters will find something to truly enjoy.
  18. Well, a fascinating end to this first book; so much uncovered and yet so much left to understand and overcome. I have to admit that I can't wait for you to start the second book.
  19. Well, will the two of them coming back together bring hope or despair.
  20. The arguments used by the oppressors never really change; and in the end they all are proven wrong.
  21. Oh, all hell is about to break loose...
  22. Well, damn, we find out some about what happened when Barken was called to help the Princess. Have to wonder what caused Barken to go off after arriving on the shore? How did the this new one know about the Princess?
  23. WOW, so that is how they are finding the ones to help them; making them addicted to this HC substance. Amelia's betrayal really hurts, I liked her.
  24. Hard to understand the attack, without knowing what precipitated it. Barken can obviously do more than either he or his partner can understand; maybe they will find some answers here; it seems to be a truly unusual place.
  25. Damn, did someone betray them or does the Princess have some type of link to Barken because of the healing?
