Does Sarah love Matthew? Almost from the first you get that feeling; what does she feel for Daniel, the father of her children? What would happen to Daniel if Sarah were to marry Matthew? Does Sarah have enough money of her own to sort out the situation with his farm? Sarah intuitively knows that something is going on with Miss Carolyn, on some level she may even suspect her health, but she truly has no idea how bad it is. Sort of surprised with Sarah's sudden ruminations on Tom. Will be interesting to see where that goes. Who is Kyle? I can't place him. I know that Britney is the first born, but can Miss Carolyn bypass her and leave the farm to one of the other girls? I mean, leave Britney money but not the farm itself?

I have no doubt that the Herald is behind the treatment of the civilians. I don't understand the Bulwark's position. I am starting to really dislike Fennrin, honestly, if he isn't smart enough to realize he is being used for evil purposes, maybe it is time for Ainreth to move on from him, no matter how much Ainreth cares for him.

Ronan and Tomas spoke to make sure that those they lead to the keep after the fall of the town would be taken care of and protected. The Baron made a dead to ensure that the keep held and no one else was harmed, giving up silver and grain to do so. Kaylen made a decision that only the death of those who burned the town and followed the King would protect Thornmere; let's hope that his decision was the right one.

A genre that is not easy to write well in, but there are so truly well-done stories here.

I don't know what the Herald's plan is, and I am sure he is behind it; but Ainreth is right, this is beyond stupid. It was done to separate Ainreth and Fennrin, but not sure why yet.

Bloody Hell, Thomas Englert got more than he ever expected. Charlie blew up and gave him more than an earful. But, from his reaction, I don't think he had anything to do with Daphane's murder. Louis is trying to help Charlie get over what has happened, but really all you can do is be there, and try and keep them occupied. Actually, love the idea of the new book, not sure how for kids it would be; but it is fiction, tell everyone involved to get a lawyer and suck it up. Oh, can't wait to see Ian's idea for the back garden done up right. So much going on, can't wait to see what happens next.

While I despise the Herald, I am starting to dislike Fennrin.

Oh Lord, ruin a perfectly good Sunday with mention of taxes. While Texas does not have a state income tax, as evident by our woeful education system as well as horrible healthcare; the federal taxes I get stuck paying are enough to ruin my mood.

The Warlock understands the role Rae will play, even if the Prince himself does not. Where is the Rae's older brother? The knights must start preparing for the coming battle, their numbers are few but will grow as their fight against Septimus does. Despots always provide help to their enemies, they can't help it, it is in their nature to turn all away from them. What is the message? Is there more known, that we have not witnessed yet, or just confirmation that the Prince has been taken?

Honestly, a little impressed that Will gave up control on something like that. A vehicle is a big deal for someone that age; yes, I know he already has several, but being in the right one is important. Amazing what the right American Express card can do for the attitude of some. Jeff, Travis, and Will are hot. I wish Travis would or could acknowledge how much he is letting Julian stress him out. He keeps trying to downplay it, but you can tell it is bleeding over into other areas of his life. Nice chapter can't wait to see what is next.

Well, Neven and Deni are both in for it. Neven is obviously a true believer, and that makes him all the more dangerous. I think the Queen fully realizes this already, she is just like all autocrats, she believes that she can do no wrong and will win in the end.

I was sort of worried that the creatures that chased the twins would still be in the area, they were nasty. The family knows the twins are missing, now it is just about trying to find out how to track and reach them.

So glad that Quin was able to open up and touch Iris mind so that they could find out what was going on. Angelo acted like a typical vampire.

Honestly to god, I truly thought for a moment that Frank was going to strangle her. It would have actually solved a lot of problems, but not sure that Carolyn would have overlooked Frank killing Britney. Although, she probably should. Of course, she is pregnant and there is the unborn child. I don't think Alice knows what she wants, but she is going to have to make a few decisions whether she wants to or not and sooner rather than later. Frank knows what he wants, but will he get it? Dante is just lost, but at least at his core, he is truly a good person. But I wish he had opened up to Alice more about what Carolyn said. Lord, the explosion, when it happens will be epic.

Ainreth and Fennrin aside, their side seems to understand little about actual security. I am starting to despise the Herald. I wouldn't put it past him to have helped freed Neven for some reason known only to him. Yarima may have been freed by her brother, if Neven is the love of his life, what might he do to secure his release.

Tomas and Ronan found that war is not glory, but death disguised as honor. They found the true horror of war is not the death of those fighting it; but the innocents that are caught up in the wake of it. Thornmere will endure.

So many divergent areas of interest for all of the characters. Pericles, aka Joss, is worried about the case. He knows there is a tie in but just hasn't had the break to lead anywhere. That is why being dogged is so important sometimes, it is just about grinding it out. We finally get a nice look at PJ again, he seems too only pop in and out, but he really adds something to how we view Joss. Loved the look in at their place and how it reflects them both. Louis got to meet up with Betty, the assistant curator for the museum. She clearly wasn't what he was expecting, but she was more than just a little bit excited about his work and how it might fit in a show for them. Eillen trying to pump up Louis, getting and keeping him upbeat about this opportunity. Charlie being there for Louis, for the laughs and keeping him focused. And Charlie seems to be getting over his issues about Daphane's death.

Well, that certainly too an unexpected turn. I so did not see that coming. Ainreth played Neven perfectly. But while he wants to protect Denir, will he truly betray his Queen? This is just too delicious.

Christos wants to do something, wants to help, even if he is not sure how. I wonder how many will be like him; I am afraid it will be too few to truly make a difference. Chandar has come to the village with Christos to see the knights that have arrived. And finally, in the dark, Luther and his group arrive. True, this group may well not be able to overthrow Septimus, but every fight must start somewhere with a few good men.

Much like @drsawzall, not sure what to make of this chapter. Blaise seems to have rewritten parts of his life or memories of that life to suit him. I would honestly like to know what he remembers of the accident that took Anthony's life. Dante seems a little drawn to Blaise, which I find uncomfortable because of what he knows about the past. This just makes me sad, confused, annoyed, and I don't know, my mind is just in a whirlwind after this chapter.

Can't wait to see what everyone comes up with this year...

Ainreth and Petre were able to follow as luck would have it the right track; and they were able to catch up and rescue Fennrin because carrying him caused the Oretski to have to take more breaks while traveling by air. I truly doubt they will get many answers out of him without torture, and never sure that gets you the truth anyway.

I know, @Gary L, he had just either gotten back from a cruise or was leaving on one when this was posted...

Rory and Slav disappointed Victor, as they should have. The return trip was relatively painless. Slav gets one more night with Rory, but they need to get looking for a larger house. Slav has decided to be more open, and that can be good or bad, only time will tell for sure. Can't wait for further adventures if they are to come.
