An amazing chapter, Stef was so proud of what Jeremy did with Travis's place that he was damn near speechless, and then when he opened up, Jeremy must be bursting inside with pride to have the master say that. Love how Stef put Julian in his place, of course, once he isn't there Julian will revert to form. And honestly, I think Stef is right. If you are so worried that you can't come out of character for fear of losing that intensity, well, there are more issues than you think. Method acting is a time-honored way of performing a character but never coming out of it with those around you when not on point, is a little weak. This house will prove to be Travis's oasis. Let's hope it serves him well.

I am to the point that while I think they need to kill the Queen, which neither of her children seem to mind; I am all for the Orinovo winning the war. They honestly seem like the better side.

Louis, Charlie, Ian, and I would so get along. I love days like that. Just wandering in lovely gardens, seeing what they have done, and how or if you can modify it for your place; I never can. LOL. Then Louis and Charlie off to see a few exhibits, one that each really enjoyed but the other got something out of as well. Perhaps another outlet for some of Louis's work, we will see. And I don't like Charlie going to get Daphane's things from Graham alone. I don't trust him at all.

Darryl and Siren appear to have evaded the Syndicate bad guys; but they are no closer to figuring out why someone is after them nor who. Lord, these two bicker like an old married couple. The boat in the bayou is a good way to escape, way too many twist turns, and switchbacks to ever find someone, especially after dark, unless one of them has a tracker on them.

Honestly, I know that Fennrin is naive, but I am starting to believe that he is plain stupid.

Granger was able to get a good look around El Ferrol and had a charming and handsome escort to boot. An open and honest, as could be, exchange on the difference in both the boatyards and the ships themselves. It appears that Granger will be able to meet Capitan Palomar in Cartagena and perhaps with a bit more privacy, be able to sample his charms as well. Granger was able to use his connections to make sure they are traveling in both style, comfort, but also security. It will make the trip to Madrid much more pleasant for him and Daventry as well as Winkler and company. I am sure that Granger will be able to accomplish all he needs to and meet Weston in June in Cartagena. Well done, @Mark Arbour, I was needing a Granger fix.

I cannot believe how Fennrin has handled all of this. Is he turning into what others feared most about the Shadowforgers of the past? I don't think you can kill that many people and not be affected, and if you can, well that is a whole other issue. Ainreth is worried about Fennrin, and rightly so; if he doesn't or can't realize that the Hearld is playing him, more fool him. The Bulwark is who worries me, I would have expected her to more sensible; is she being misled by the Herald as well, or is she just wanting to make sure that Orinovo can never attach them again? I hate that Enlin was hurt trying to save Fennrin, and if she doesn't make it Petre will be devastated.

Drake, whose father is known to Chandar, brought news, which they are knew, but more importantly, he brought the knowledge that there were ways into the keep and the dungeon known to a few. That would allow them to get into the keep, and rescue Rae. But as Luther and a few of the others know, it is in getting away the problem will lie. I have to wonder if the Warlock will be of some assistance in this matter, although they do not yet know what he knows. Drake made a perilous journey and did so gladly for a chance to serve and a chance to bring about change. But far away from home, he caught the eye and noticed himself Christos, who is always wanting to serve. One has to wonder how many men Chandar has in hiding, training and preparing for what is to come. And one must also wonder, how loyal are the men that serve Septimus? Their loyalty is bought either with money or fear; never a good currency to hold over a man.

Does Sarah love Matthew? Almost from the first you get that feeling; what does she feel for Daniel, the father of her children? What would happen to Daniel if Sarah were to marry Matthew? Does Sarah have enough money of her own to sort out the situation with his farm? Sarah intuitively knows that something is going on with Miss Carolyn, on some level she may even suspect her health, but she truly has no idea how bad it is. Sort of surprised with Sarah's sudden ruminations on Tom. Will be interesting to see where that goes. Who is Kyle? I can't place him. I know that Britney is the first born, but can Miss Carolyn bypass her and leave the farm to one of the other girls? I mean, leave Britney money but not the farm itself?

I have no doubt that the Herald is behind the treatment of the civilians. I don't understand the Bulwark's position. I am starting to really dislike Fennrin, honestly, if he isn't smart enough to realize he is being used for evil purposes, maybe it is time for Ainreth to move on from him, no matter how much Ainreth cares for him.

Ronan and Tomas spoke to make sure that those they lead to the keep after the fall of the town would be taken care of and protected. The Baron made a dead to ensure that the keep held and no one else was harmed, giving up silver and grain to do so. Kaylen made a decision that only the death of those who burned the town and followed the King would protect Thornmere; let's hope that his decision was the right one.

A genre that is not easy to write well in, but there are so truly well-done stories here.

I don't know what the Herald's plan is, and I am sure he is behind it; but Ainreth is right, this is beyond stupid. It was done to separate Ainreth and Fennrin, but not sure why yet.

Bloody Hell, Thomas Englert got more than he ever expected. Charlie blew up and gave him more than an earful. But, from his reaction, I don't think he had anything to do with Daphane's murder. Louis is trying to help Charlie get over what has happened, but really all you can do is be there, and try and keep them occupied. Actually, love the idea of the new book, not sure how for kids it would be; but it is fiction, tell everyone involved to get a lawyer and suck it up. Oh, can't wait to see Ian's idea for the back garden done up right. So much going on, can't wait to see what happens next.

While I despise the Herald, I am starting to dislike Fennrin.

Oh Lord, ruin a perfectly good Sunday with mention of taxes. While Texas does not have a state income tax, as evident by our woeful education system as well as horrible healthcare; the federal taxes I get stuck paying are enough to ruin my mood.

The Warlock understands the role Rae will play, even if the Prince himself does not. Where is the Rae's older brother? The knights must start preparing for the coming battle, their numbers are few but will grow as their fight against Septimus does. Despots always provide help to their enemies, they can't help it, it is in their nature to turn all away from them. What is the message? Is there more known, that we have not witnessed yet, or just confirmation that the Prince has been taken?

Honestly, a little impressed that Will gave up control on something like that. A vehicle is a big deal for someone that age; yes, I know he already has several, but being in the right one is important. Amazing what the right American Express card can do for the attitude of some. Jeff, Travis, and Will are hot. I wish Travis would or could acknowledge how much he is letting Julian stress him out. He keeps trying to downplay it, but you can tell it is bleeding over into other areas of his life. Nice chapter can't wait to see what is next.

Well, Neven and Deni are both in for it. Neven is obviously a true believer, and that makes him all the more dangerous. I think the Queen fully realizes this already, she is just like all autocrats, she believes that she can do no wrong and will win in the end.

I was sort of worried that the creatures that chased the twins would still be in the area, they were nasty. The family knows the twins are missing, now it is just about trying to find out how to track and reach them.
