The Schluter men are such good looking studs and they really know how to shine. Darius was perfect and I got my overdue dose of Will! Lucky Patrick Christian! Poor JJ is outfoxed by Steff and JP cuts him no slack at all! My only complaint is that the chapter was way too short!

Interesting northern turn in line with the title.... The chapter ends in August and I presume Granger must take Daventry to Russia and is leaving in September or October and must sail into approaching winter. Granger's quip about a good stove was not flippant and I hope his ship building friend has some good inventive ideas for providing some heat.... More please!

Fifteen years in the internet era is a lifetime. Smart phones were still five years in the future. The iPad was not introduced until 2010, yet now much of the traffic to the site is via mobile devices. Congrats to everyone who has contributed expertise, time, ideas, oversight, money, and especially content! The stories are what make the site a destination. I started coming to this site about nine years ago to read Mark Arbour's stories. I joined his Yahoo Group before that but group access was a bit twitchy at times and so I came here. I joined in April 2009 and saw the changes that occurred in 2010-2011 and the major change earlier this year. A tip of the hat is in order! -

Mark's 9.11 is not a stereotypical gay story that happens to be set in that time. It is a deeply human story about that tragic event and the human cost. As Timothy M noted, to be fully invested in the characters, start at the beginning. But it is a more than worthy stand alone read. Anyone to whom that date was just a memory as a child can get some real adult insights into the time and its immediacy and impact. I heartily recommended it...keep a box of tissues handy.

It seems events made a point of reinforcing Jeff's decision to leave Chicago.... I was so relieved that neither Paul nor Jeff took a bullet and that Dave's injury was just a flesh wound. More please!

I read the following book for the first time when I was in the fourth grade, the year was 1957. I read it again the following year. It was the first book that captured my heart. In 1958 I read Moby Dick and it then became my favorite As I've lived a fairly long life and been an avid reader for more than sixty years, I just can't say which book is my all time favorite. There is a whole library of great books that I've read, including books by Charles Dickens, Mark Twain, Isaac Asimov, Arthur C. Clarke, Anne McCaffrey. Roger Zelazny, C. S. Forester, and on and on and on....

@tabaqui Carlos is familiar with guns and the military. Their rule, is never point a weapon at someone unless you have to and if you do, be prepared to kill them. It's a tremendous burden that cannot be taken lightly. Shooting to maim or slow someone down, may be an option for a long range sharp shooter, but if your life is in peril, don't risk it by wasting a shot to slow someone down intent on doing you great bodily harm.

It's entirely too sad that we are still dealing with this and that they often get a free pass from the authorities. And now with the equivocation of the dunce occupying 1600, the white supremacists are further encouraged by the Arpaio pardon. Thanks for sharing your story and I thought it was well done.

CJAMES' story 'Circumnavigation' is the longest story onsite. The chapters average at just about 6000 words and each was greatly anticipated when posted. My point is write your story the way you think is best.

Chicago pizza is a pie. I like it for a change but usually like a thin crust pizza. Italian sausage and green peppers for toppings. And now I could go for pizza.....pity it's too late at night, I would be up until dawn.

As we near the end of August, I see two teams that have really done well despite all the things that happen over a long season. The National League's LA Dodgers have been phenomenal as have the American League's Houston Astros. I know under the expanded playoff structure these two teams have somewhat less of a chance to advance to the World Series, and if that happens, it will be sad. With a little more than a month to go in the 2017 season, the Dodgers already have 91 wins with a 13.5 lead over the Washington Nationals and the Astros have78 wins with a 5 game lead over the Boston Red Sox. While I wish my Cards were doing better in the least competitive division in baseball, I cannot help but appreciate the talent I've seen on the Dodgers and the Astros.
