An interesting primer. The thing that disturbs most of those that suffer from PTSD that you only just mention is guilt. It can be most debilitating and worsen depression, cause irritability, and the emotional changes you described. Getting a person to realize that their feelings of guilt are out of proportion and why that is so, is one of the major problems in treatment.

You are special James. You can' t change the past and making peace with it is easier said than done, but you are making progress. Progress is not a straight line as you well know. Despite set backs, your determination is laudable and with fortitude your continued improvement and insights are making a difference. I salute you.
Jeremy, I don't see you having a career in concessions at a movie house. But money is money and if you look at it just as a transitional job you are doing only for the money, then you may slog your way through. Of course it will never satisfy you, but if you are worried about keeping it for a while for the money, make friends with the co-workers and ask how they do it is my advice.
