This is a story of two young people and there discoveries.

It's the year 2032. The Unites States has just ended a civil war, with the western states seceding from the union to become The Pacific Republic. Dr. Elliott "Ell" Pierce is a trauma physician with a dark past serving in the Army of The Pacific Republic. When he meets Ryan, a rugged Texan with a heart of gold, he starts to confront his demons hiding in his past. At first he fights it, but he soon realizes that it is possible to find new love in the midst of uncertain world.

When Mike’s 47 year old cousin (also his best friend) dies he realizes he must make major changes in his lifestyle or his own funeral could be soon. A self-imposed journey to improve himself both physically and emotionally leads him to discover the Mike he has been repressing for years and he comes to terms with life as a gay man.

A gay bachelor finds a son

Prologue.

When I was in college, I had a friend that worked the summers at various resorts. In the fall when school would resume, he’d hold court at lunch and tell us tales of his summer experience, showing us his trinkets, that’s what he called them. Based on those tales, I wrote the following story, Home Away From Home.

Be warned, the story involves explicit sex between gay couples. If you have read any my other stories, this will be quite different.

This story takes place in the future
