Ben and Caleb Webster, a married gay couple, go out for a walk on Halloween before the trick-or-treaters arrive. It’s a walk they take every night, but this time they end up in a place they barely recognize. (Halloween story)

This can be considered to be a prequel to The Last Watcher, my story in the Summer Anthology, but, as required, it stands on its own as a short story.

Sam couldn't explain why he spent so much time on his long journey, reliving life through dream novels as a teenage boy on Earth, a planet humans had long ago abandoned. Not that anyone even knew where it was anymore. Now, humans were, methodically searching the galaxy for planets suitable for terraforming, spending hundreds of years building interconnecting black strings and then sending colony ships of embryos in stasis. Sam was the only adult crew member on his ship, one of an armada that comes under attack. As the sole survivor, he must figure out what to do when faced with almost certain oblivion.

Tavo is running. Abused and mistreated, he can't take it anymore. He makes one last desperate attempt at escape. Benji didn't plan on getting caught up in Tavo's troubled life, but when he's the only one who can help, Ben won't abandon Tavo. When that man turns out to be lovely inside and out, Benji is glad he was able to catch Tavo. [M/M, abuse, hurt/comfort, abuse, violence]

Streaks of lightning shoot from dark clouds over the battle field as the Great Invaders approach the last free city and hail rains down upon the invaders as the Sky Witch appears. She is flanked by great armies of soldiers, followed by the Great Fire Birds that descend and ignite into flaming balls, scorching all in their path of destruction.

One of the songs on the album was "Intergalactic Radio Station" and I've always thought "what a great name for a story." But, time came and went and I never seemed to get the proper incentive to take that title and manipulate it into words. Until now . . .

Originally accepted for the Library of the Living Dead SF anthology - Rockets, Swords and Rainbows - the anthology was pulled prior to publication date due to a shortage of funds. It deals with relationships and how things are perceived via totally different lifestyles and race philosophies. Written for as wide an audience as possible, so nothing sexually graphic.
