Poor Man's Son is the eleventh story in the CAP Saga. The story takes place in 2000, with Gathan Hayes and Will Schluter as our narrators. Many of the characters in this story were introduced in “Chronicles of an Academic Predator,” “1968,” “The Land Whore,” “Be Rad,” “Man in Motion,” “A Summer Love,” “If It Fits,” “Bloodlines,” “The Box,” and "Millennium."

The story of the Castaway Hotel continues, but this time with Danny relaying the story and taking charge. How will things go as the Hotel continues to add new residents?

"Man in Motion," follows Be Rad and begins in 1985. To most Americans, 1985 was about the second Reagan term and the economic boom that was following the stagnant 70's. The culture was wrapped up in materialism, so it's no wonder that Madonna's "Material Girl" was popular then. Then there is this parallel culture, the gay culture, reeling from the onslaught of AIDS.

Josh’s biological children discover Jake and he are lovers, so they want nothing more to do with him. Inspired by Ricky, Nick ends up becoming an exchange student to Brazil. The family goes on a camping and canoeing adventure that gets a little scary and when they return home, some of the boys are arrested. Will they be able to prove their innocence?

Frankie is unable to find a job in law enforcement, so he joins the Army as an M.P. After training, he is sent to a very dangerous prison. Jake is diagnosed with prostate cancer and Josh has to deal with a school board member who is raising a stink about the gay-straight alliance. Will he succeed?

Ricky is an exchange student in Australia for a year. The family the Curries met in England comes to visit them in the US. That fall, Josh learns one of the boys has been diagnosed with Leukemia and together they battle this disease. Will Josh’s help be enough?

It is 1794, and George Granger takes command of his first ship.

Mr. Becker dies and Mrs. Becker suffers from Alzheimers. Little Ricky decides to use their farm as a group home for boys. When Nick returns from Brazil, Josh takes him to see the doctor, because Nick took some risks with his health while he was away. Did Nick make a fatal mistake doing this?

Josh is a widower whose children have grown and moved away. He’s alone in a huge house, so when a friend suggests he should take in children in need. After thinking this over, he decides to take in boys, especially gay boys. This is the story about how it happens, but will it end happily?

As Josh recovers, some of the older boys pitch in to help out, so they won’t be split up. After 9/11, Josh comes to the rescue of a boy whose parents died that day. He also has to deal with a biological mother who is trying to regain custody by claiming Josh is unfit. Which way will the court rule?
