Lost - Two Timer series - 6. Chapter 6

Breakfast
Confessions
And a new case for Adam.

Anton woke early and wanted to make everyone breakfast. He dressed and headed downstairs to the kitchen. After talking to Troy last night helped him with his anxiety. A clearer head and a lighter mood made Anton optimistic. That is until he walked into the kitchen and found his son and boyfriend entangled on the kitchen floor ass naked.

************

The gourmet kitchen filled with the morning light and the smell of coffee, eggs and biscuits. Patrick woke up first. He first snuggled against Adam then the delicious aromas made him open his eyes.

Anton sat at the table beside them drinking his coffee and enjoying his breakfast.

Patrick looked up and caught sight of him and at first, he only smiled then the realization came to him he was on the floor with Adam. He glanced and to his relief a blanket covered their nudity. But he didn’t remember them having one at the time of their loving making.

“Good morning,”

“Good morning, Anton.” Patrick shook Adam who roused and yawned before opening his eyes to Patrick. “Adam, we got to get up…” Patrick couldn’t finish his words when Adam kissed him moving his hand along his skin. Patrick tried to stop his advances when Anton interrupted.

“Good morning, my little man.”

Adam’s body froze in place after hearing his mother’s voice. He relaxed his hold on Patrick who bite his bottom lip worried.

After gaining his mobility he turned to his mother who waved at him.

“Mom,” he said.

“Breakfast is ready.”

“Thanks,” Adam said, confused.

“You’re welcome. I brought your robes,” Anton said, reaching for them on the chair beside him. He gave them the garments and stood up holding his mug. “I’m done, so I’m going to call your father to say good morning while you both enjoy the food.

Anton left as Adam’s head dropped back gazing at the ceiling. He looked to Patrick who was grinning.

“Why are you smiling?”

“Because I told you we’d get caught.”

“I thought I get up before him.” Adam looked under the blanket. “You’re covered with my rope.”

“It’s not the first time.”

“You’re not embarrassed?”

“After being caught in your mom's kitchen when we last visit nothing embarrasses me.”

“Really?”

“Yes,” Patrick said, rising from the floor and tugging on his robe drawing it closed. He moved towards the food when Adam grabbed his leg, surprising him.

“Have your parents ever caught you in the act?”

“Yes.”

Patrick stared at his detective who ran his hand across Patrick’s smooth leg then looked up his robe.

“You are insatiable,” Patrick said, playful.

Adam rose to his knees running his hand higher up Patrick’s leg, yanking the robe opened and pulling it from his shoulders. He took Patrick’s partial hard-on into his warm, wet, mouth. Patrick’s cock responded as his whole body shuddered from the emotion racing through him.

Patrick reached out and ran his finger through Adam’s hair thrusting his hips forward and deeper into his throat. Adam reached around and inserted one of his fingers into Patrick’s hole, sending his climax down his throat. Adam drank every drop.

He slipped to Adam’s lap wrapping his arms around his neck as Adam raising his legs, entering his cock in one smooth motion. Patrick buried his face into Adam’s shoulder. Muffled cries vibrated against him as he worked his hips crashing into his lover with urgency. He buried himself to the crown as his climax spilled inside Patrick.

“That’s a nice morning pick-me-up,” Adam smiled, holding the slender body. Patrick embraced his lips, his body floating from the afterglow.

“I can’t get enough of you,” Adam said.

“That’s good to know,” Patrick smiled. “Because I can’t see myself with anyone but you.”

Adam got to his feet, still holding Patrick. He carried him to the back stairs setting him on the bottom step.

“Why don’t you go run the shower and I’ll make us a plate and meet you up there,” Adam said.

“That’s brilliant.”

“I knew you’d say that.” Adam grabbed their clothes and Patrick’s robe and gave them to him.

“Okay, see you soon.”

Adam watched Patrick’s naked body climbed the stairs disappearing at the top. He tugged on his robe and gathering dishes.

***************

Patrick moved to his bedroom with his arms full dumping the clothes on the floor in the bathroom. He figures they’ll sort it later. He started the water in the shower when a knock came to his door. The robe Adam wrenched from his body in the kitchen cover him again as he opened the door. Anton rushed in frantic.

“Anton?”

“You need to get Adam out of here.”

“Why?”

“Because I now know where Devin lives, and it’s his day off.”

“Oh, but Adam’s making a tray and he’s coming up to take a shower.”

“Well, speed things up because we’re pressed for time. I need to get home tonight.”

“Okay, I’ll think of something,” Patrick promised.

“Just don’t let him into the shower with you. If he takes after his father he’s not coming out until the water’s freezing.”

“Okay.” Anton left as Patrick went to the bathroom.

*************

Adam balanced the tray of food and coffee and knocked on the bedroom door. Patrick opened it dressed causal and smiling.

“Pat,” Adam said, confused.

“Yes?”

“Why are you dressed?”

“Oh well I couldn’t wait. I saved you hot water.” He took the tray and moved it over to a table by the bay window overlooking the garden.

“Pat, I was going in late, so we can have alone time.”

“But the food.”

“Yeah but…”

“Your mother made us breakfast, the least we could do is eat.”

A sigh escaped Adam before grabbing Patrick and pulling him close.

“Pat, it’s not food I want to eat.” He unbuttoned Patrick pants. Patrick knew if Adam continued, he will get his way.

“Adam, maybe…” Then a cell ringing interrupted him.

Adam considered ignoring the caller, but Patrick was out of his arms in the bathroom searching for the cell in the crumped clothes.

“I found it,” Patrick said holding up Adam’s cell which he took to him.

Adam saw the caller was Justin. He looked at Patrick with an apologetic stare.

“It’s work.”

“You should answer.”

He hesitated before receiving the call.

“Yeah, Justin?”

“Boss, he’s coming.”

“Who?”

“Sergio Blackheart.”

Adam’s face went pale as Patrick approached concerned. Adam held up a finger going into the hallway closing their door.

“What does he want?”

“You.”

“Has he threatened you?”

“No.”

“Okay, I’ll be there soon.”

“Okay bye.”

He dreaded telling Patrick as he reentered the room. Patrick sat eating a piece of toast and sipping on his coffee.

“Pat, sorry I need to get to the office.”

“Okay.”

“I’m taking a quick shower first.”

“I’ll get your clothes ready.”

“Thanks.”

When showered and dressed he kissed Patrick goodbye and headed downstairs. Patrick followed him and waved when he drove away.

**************

Anton descended the stairs with his jacket.

“Come on, I called for a Hitch.”

“What’s that?”

“Cheaper than a cab.”

“Oh, that’s different,” Patrick said, going to the side closet and getting his jacket.

They left the house and boarded the car. Anton received a text from Molly telling him Devin came into work. Anton asked the driver to change direction.

“What’s wrong?” Patrick asked.

“Devin’s at work so you’ll talk to him there.”

“Where does he work?”

“it’s called the Pleasure Hole.”

“He’s a stripper?”

“No, he works in an adult erotic shop.”

“Wow. I’ve never been in one.”

“It’s intimidating at first, but the staff is very helpful.”

“You’ve been in one?”

“Several. Troy loves it when I bring home a new toy.”

“His boss won’t mind?”

“Molly knows we’re coming.”

“Are you sure you don’t want to talk to him?”

“He won’t listen. I need you to persuade him to give me a chance to explain my side.”

“What is your side?”

Anton realized he needed to tell Patrick everything before he sees Devin. He asked the drive to drop them off at a park two blocks from the store.

**************

Adam arrived and took the stairs skipping every other one. He busted into the office finding Sergio Blackheart sitting in Justin’s chair.

“What did you do with Justin, you son-of-a-bitch,” Adam’s tone sent shock waves through the office as Sergio stared back astonished while Justin stood frozen holding a mug and coffee pot.

“Adam, I’m fine,” Justin said, raising a crooked eyebrow at Adam’s outburst.

“As you can see Detective,” Sergio waved his hand towards Justin. “Justin, which he gave me consent to say, is fine.”

Adam not sure what was happening.

“No hard feelings Detective Potter, I know you were doing your job.”

“What are you doing here Mr. Blackheart?” Adam asked, relieved he wasn’t there for revenge.

“That, I need to tell you in private, detective.” Sergio rose from the chair and smiled towards Justin. “Could you bring my coffee into Detective Potter’s office?”

“No problem,” Justin said.

Sergio entered Adam’s office first as Adam took the coffee mug from Justin. He followed, relieved Sergio sat in the client chair. He sat the ceramic mug on the desk in hand reach for Sergio. Adam took his chair and rest his forearms on the table.

“If you’re not retaliating, then why are you here?”

“Isn’t it obvious? I’m here to hire you.”

**************

Anton moved through the house cleaning, he and Troy had to do most of the place until their boys got older. The bedrooms were each person responsibility. Anton supervised Adam until he was twelve years old because for unknown reasons, he liked to hide sandwiches around his room.

Anton had wanted to organize the basement and his chance came when Troy, Paul and Kyle had to go to their Cosplay town to take inventory.

He sorted, labeled, recycled and donated books, clothes, and mementoes. The basement stretched the length of the house.

He finished stacking boxes when one caught his attention. It rested on its side next to a folded card table sealed, with the words fragile stamped in four different places. 12 X 12 in size Anton picked it up and dropped it when the name, TINA’S BELONGINGS in bold red letters came into view.

“Where did this come from?” he wondered. He suspected Chris gave it to Troy, and he tossed it here and forgot. Tina had no family to send this.

Anton carried the box to a bench in the corner. He sat with it on his lap reading her name again to be sure it wasn’t a mistake. The betrayal and lies came rushing back when Tina tried to kill him and take over his family.

“Tina, you bitch!” His tears wanted to come, but he swallowed hard. “No, I won’t cry for you anymore. You don’t deserve them. You framed me for murder.”

He considered tossing the box out, but something stopped him.

“Why Tina? Why did you turn on me? I loved you. You gave me four healthy boys something I can never repay.”

Anton ripped the tape off sitting the book on the bench as he dropped to his knees. He hesitated before opening the flaps. Unfolding tissues paper, he pulled out journals ranging from the years they knew Tina.

He pulled out the books finding a picture frame at the bottom of a picture of Tina holding a baby. Anton left it in the box as he opened the first journal. He planned on skimming through it, but got caught up in them.

Hours passed as he read through the books and discover when Tina slipped feeling worthless and unloved. He read when Tina had an infatuation with Troy, and she wanted to keep Adam to herself.

Anton wanted to scream, to think he trusted her with his children. He spotted something under the picture. Another journal with Adam’s birthday. He read the only four pages in the book dealing with Adam’s birth when he and Troy followed their new son out of the room. Tina was still in labor and gave birth to a second child telling the doctor she only had to give over one child.

She arranged for the baby’s care, separated from his brother.

Anton turned to the picture in the box and removed it staring at the baby in the picture. Adam was born with golden locks that turned darker matching his father’s. The baby in the picture had black locks.

***************

“How did you find him?” Patrick asked.

“I had to go to Tina’s home town. There I found out he spent most his life in an orphanage being shipped back and forward to foster homes.

“Why didn’t Tina raise him. She had the baby she wanted?”

“I have a theory. Adam favored his father.”

“But Devin’s his twin.”

“With two variances. Adam got his father’s hair eyes color, who Tina was in love with, and Devin got mine, who she hated.”

“Poor Devin.”

“Tina visited him in the orphanage and told him she couldn’t take care of him they couldn’t be a family because of me. So, he hates me and want nothing from me. He blames me for everything.”

“Anton, I’m sorry. I’ll do my best to persuade him.”

“I missed out on so much. He didn’t deserve to be alone he should have been loved and cared for by his family.”

***************

“Why do you need me?” Adam asked.

“I need you to find a person of interest for me,” Sergio said, taking a sip of his coffee.

“Okay, my fee…”

“Covered.” Sergio remove an envelope from the inside his lavish coat and handed it to Adam. “Here is a two-thousand dollars upfront and another three-thousand when you find him.”

Adam placed the envelope on his desk keeping his focus on Sergio.

“Who do you want me to find?”

“The man is on this disk. He’s outside my friend’s place of business. His face is hard to see. I need his name and location.” He handed the disk to Adam.

“Okay. Give me a couple of days and I should have it.”

“Excellent. I knew I could count on you.”

Sergio stood to leave when Adam asked a question.

“Who did you think I was at you club?”

“That’s no concern of yours, detective. Good day.”

Adam heard him say goodbye to Justin as he took the disk and placed it into his laptop CD drive. The video was grainy and filmed in black and white. It showed a store front, no one was in the shot for a moment then someone caught his eye. He walked up to the business and rang the bell. Anxious when he turned around waiting for someone to answer the door. Adam froze the image and stared at the person on the footage.

I cannot choose 'like' for this chapter as my confusion level has risen to the point I am lost. Is the name of the mother here, Anton, which is a male name and in the narrative 'mother' is repeatedly referred to with male pronouns! And now memorabilia from a different character, 'Tina'. The name "Tina" is a diminutive and female version of Anton, adding another level of confusion about characters.

I've been lost since the very beginning, so much so I had to start a 'cheat sheet' trying to understand who was who and  what relationship each was to the other. 10 characters in the first 3 chapters with pronouns bouncing around willy-nilly.  I'm going to guess, no hope that perhaps English is not the native language of the author and if so I can overlook grammar and misspellings.  As an English and Literature teacher I'm apoplectic. Not sure I can struggle through the rest of this.
