Plans within plans...

Always plans within plans. I'm excited for Corbin's newest schemes to start coming to light. Should be interesting and fun.

WOW, did not see that one coming - David Marcossi! .... and Corbin on the humpity horse once again. David is definitely coming across as a likable character and someone that is very intriguing all the same. Genuine, caring, concerned, and naive in so many ways. The awe of innocence. I like him! Corbins first IFC meeting went off without a hitch, taking the advice of the VP to lay low, yet he caught the eye of someone ... a Chip of sort. The banter back and forth to The Homestead was intriguing to say the least ... maybe even flirty. A hand, a thigh, and what next? Those long road trips in the car when a hand just seems to find its way there. Damn, that brought back a memories! Thank gawd we never crashed! LOL!!! LOL!!!  And then there was Pete .... Oh Boy! 🙄 FANTASTIC chapter as always. Definitely got spoiled during the reading marathon and now can't wait for the next installment. Oh, and happy National Donut Day everyone! 100 year old recipe and going strong!

I expected Pete to be in the bed! Where could he be....? Surely he’s keeping tabs on Corbin while he makes up his mind. He and Amanda have been so quiet lately that I wonder if there’s something going on between the two of them. I’m also worried that Hutch is going to blackmail Corbin into quitting IFC in order to regain that seat as president next semester. Devil Wears Prada is mentioned so much that it makes me think Corbin will be humiliated like Nigel was when he was suddenly replaced by Jacqueline. Can’t wait for the next chapter!

Thanks for the comment! Honestly, Devil Wears Prada was the only DVD I had in college, so I watched it LOT... probably where Corbin gets that unapologetic boss bitch side to him... Pete is out there doing his thing... Corbin is waiting... for now. That's all I can say about that dynamic. Hopefully David being in he bed was too much of a let down...

Thank god there were no crashes! I echo that. Been in too many cars where the hand finds the thigh, and then... Anyway... Thanks for the comment. Now I need a donut.

Won't spoil anything, but we'll get to even more about Chip. I think he'll bring out a different (or more flushed out) side to Corbin, but we'll see... And David is fun to write. That relationship is fun to write. More to come.

Can you do the same for me, as my birthday present?

Publish a chapter on my birthday?

It's my birthday on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Every day of the year, in fact!

I'd be a happy boy!!

A chapter a day keeps the birthday blues away?

I like that Corbin was nice to Lee.  Out of all of Corbin's hookups, Lee is my favorite.  Hopefully Corbin will hurry up and get Pete out of his system.  Corbin's obsession with Pete is causing him to lose sight of what's really important.  For example, if Corbin were thinking clearly, he would realize that he ought to be using his relationsihp with Lee to get all the inside information about Dom and Hutch.  One can only hope that Corbin has an epiphany soon.  Preferably in the next chapter!

“You’ll see when we get to The Homestead,” Chip replied.

I can’t wait until the next chapter. Corbin is always scheming… And what if Pete were to choose him? Will it really make a difference? Pete will have conditions too, you know. Is Pete really that valuable to him? I would tend to think not. David, on the other hand, comes with no conditions, yet.

And what about Chip? Will he become another sexual chapter in Corbin’s life? I think Pete would be better off to leave Corbin waiting indefinitely. I guess I just don’t see a future for Corbin with Pete in it. Kind of sad really. 🙁

Great chapter, Jon.

I liked this chapter quite a bit.

Corbin remains tough for me.  I can't imagine living my life quite so transactionally.  But he makes for an interesting character!

We’ll see. It’s been interesting to develop some growth with Corbin, so you never what his relationship with Lee will evolve into. Or any of his fraternity brothers for that matter as he sets his sights elsewhere for a bit...

Great chapter, Jon.

Lots of great questions, and no way to answer some of them without spoiling. Pete and Corbin have history, so it won’t be as easy as letting each other go indefinitely. And no matter how unexplainable, Pete is still the gold standard. In getting ready to pick up the story again, I read early chapters and their chemistry palpable. For us readers, it’s been years, but for those two it’s been months. More to come and thanks for the comment!

Thanks Jasper. Welcome to Corbin’s next transactional episode. But are we sure that it isn’t Chip acting that way here?

Oh, they both are for sure.  I guess I experienced literally nothing like this in college.  And I worked on Wall Street pretty successfully for a long time and never really experienced anything like it.

Old Dominion is quite the training ground!  Although I imagine most of the student body goes happily through life drinking, studying and shagging.

I would agree and say most people don’t pay attention to the machinations that happen in the background. But isn’t that part of Chip’s point? Even the ones who become influencers (wasn’t a word back then, but you know what I mean) spent their first years coasting. I dunno. Guess it was the filter there. It’s a fun one to write and remember

Well I wanted the surprise to be Mike, but Corbin/David isn’t a bad substitute. And they each approach this knowing it’s for fun no-strings.  At least we know that of Corbin.  David to me is still very much a mystery...what is his end game.  I think I’m through buying into his simple easy going approach. He is just as complex just maybe more quiet about how he approaches things.  I don’t think he is all that naive either, but what the hell do I know.  Every time I think I’ve figured something out you go and fuck me.

so ifc huh, so glad I never played in that court just didn’t have that same drive or daddy’s money...in fact daddy didn’t have daddy’s money either.  I like chip and Christ 10 words and he has read Corbin like a book.
