    RIP - Comicality - May 1975 -- April 2024

    By Myr

I have been following Comicality since New Kid in School first showed up on Nifty in 1998.  I started exchanging emails with him that long ago.  We've been online friends since.  When the opportunity arose for me to start Gay Authors in Sep 2002, Comicality was the first author with us.  When we opened the forums at the very end of July in 2003, it only took me a few days to get Comicality on the forums.  Back then he was on a WebTV... He continued to grow and grow as an author branching ou

A Writer’s Fuel

A Writer’s Fuel I think that many of us would probably be absolutely terrified to realize how much of our lives are constantly operating on autopilot on a daily basis. Honestly. Have you ever really thought about it? Some of these automatic actions are pretty harmless. You lock your car doors when you get out to run into the store. You hold the door open for someone with their hands full of groceries. You feel the urge to say ‘bless you’ when someone sneezes, even if they’re a total stranger

Thank You to Our Prompt Team!

Prompts have always been an integral part of GA and something to look forward to every Friday.  Starting with our dear Comicfan and now continuing with the Prompt Team, seeing how authors come up with different takes on the weekly prompts is always exciting.  Prompts have sparked some popular longer works and also some great short stories and character sketches.  I always look forward to seeing what my fellow Prompt Team members come up with every Friday.  So, the Admin Team is continuing our we

Thanksgiving... Lasagna?

Every Thanksgiving week for many years, I've prepared a Lasagna on Monday. The reason for this is quite logical. I love it, and have been making it for years. In a week dominated by cooking a turkey, how did lasagna become involved? To answer that question, we must travel back in time to a golden age: the late eighties. The family gets together, we have a turkey feast and football. So, before traveling to my parents, I made a lasagna. It's one of my best recipes and it always turns out

Thank You to Our Moderation Team

Continuing on with our week of thanks, the Admin team wants to call out the amazing volunteers on our Moderation Team!! When most of us think of moderation they think it is all about discipline. We all try really hard to educate first. Then in limited cases, we do have to let some know what they are doing, how it is harming the site, and what we need to do to avoid it in the future. Due to the actions by our Mods, this is about always the only occurrence due to their willingness to help eve

Thank You to Our Blog Contributor!

On the second day of Thanksgiving, my true love gave to meeeee....   Oh wait. Wrong holiday!     I think @wildone 's Weekly Wrap Up is influencing me Anyway, our week of Thanksgiving continues with extending our appreciation to our fearless, resident Coyote Cub, Aaron!  Aaron stepped up to the plate to bring us two of GA's most popular featured blogs: Ask an Author and Author Guess Who.  His blog posts are always humorous, interesting, and informative, and never fail to draw lots of comments!

Of Pride and Power Chapter 12 is live

Chapter 12 Surprise! An Early Chapter before US Thanksgiving Holiday! You did not expect me to go full battle-oriented chapter   I appreciate several GA authors for their understanding of history and military tactics. I enjoy writers who create scenarios for sea battles and squad-based combat scenarios, but I seldom read anyone explore the gritty battles of defense and tactics that I displayed here. Outnumbered 3:1 on the battlefield with inferior firepower, most modern folks would con

Thank You to Our Anthology Team!

It's Thanksgiving week in the USA, so we thought a perfect way to kick off the week would be to thank our Anthology Team for their hard work throughout the year!  There is a lot of work that goes into producing the GA anthologies, from the behind-the-scenes technical support from @Myr, banner creation and general support from @Cia and @wildone, and the unsung heroes of the anthology - the Proof Team!   The Proof Team works diligently to ensure anthology stories meet site standards and basic edit
