Weekly Wrap Up (Aug. 23 - Aug. 29)

    By wildone

Well it finally happened, all   If you are thinking I finally ended the streak of being a 57 year old virgin, I'm not talking to you anymore   I guess the 1st of September is the start of meteorological fall. Today, I got my first sunburn of the summer 😮 Yes, I had sunblock on, and yes it was only 22 C/72 F out, but there was nary a cloud and I was sitting watching a flag football game for about a hour and a half. It doesn't hurt and it isn't too bad but when I jumped in the shower a f

2026 Poetry Anthology Announcement

The GA Poetry Anthology is returning for 2026 with the theme "Choices"!  We face all different kinds of choices in life, so this would be a great opportunity to explore some of them.  I look forward to reading what our site poets come up with!   Submitted poems will be featured throughout the month of April to celebrate National Poetry Month. I will work on getting the threads set up in the anthology forum and the event posted. Give me a little time to get that done.    2026 Poetry Ant

Retirement from Writing

Dear GA Just five days before the 12th anniversary of me joining GA, I have come to realisation, that I am not able to continue my writing hobby. I wish to thank every one on GA for all of your support over the many years I have been a part of this writing group. I will continue to monitor my page from time to time for any comments, emails and messages. Wishing you all a happy and prosperous new year in 2026 and beyond. Well, no great announcements about 2026 from me... Except the start of CSR! I thought I'd do something a little fun, a twofer! That's right, this month's feature was written by 2 GA Authors! That means double the fun on the Discussion day.  Raven's Secret Crush by @BendtedWreath and @chris191070   Length: 5,301 Description: Raven Bran always feels stuck behind his brother, in basketball, at school, and even with friends. But when he meets someone who truly understands hi

Weekly Wrap Up (Dec. 28 - Jan. 3)

Oh wow! 2026 you say   First off, to Myr and the rest of the GA community: With all the days off last week, if you got them, I didn't know what day it was . I forgot it was Saturday, but I'm going to blame a extra long turkey hangover in not doing the Weekly Wrap Up. Then Myr posted the stories for the week and a gentle reminder/hint, that if anyone (me) wanted to add more, to stay tuned. I tried  I really, really tired . After my 3rd attempt to add in the all the blogs and the WOTDs, and l

Comprehensive 2025 Reading Report -- Wow!!!

After an "eventful" last few days over the New Year (you can read all about it in the comments in Chapter 7 of Medellin), I got such a nice surprise this morning when I saw the 2025 reading stats, especially that Swing for the Fences was the #2 most recommended story of 2025, and ranked in the Top 10 in eleven different categories. Even Medellin made the Top 2 in two different categories, and it's barely gotten started yet. Of course, many, many, many thanks to my readers and "fans" for all thei

Happy New Year!

Last week, Myr outlined some plans we have for 2026, and there are some exciting things on the horizon!  We had an outstanding response to our writing events in 2025, so I'm hoping we can equal or better it in 2026.  Stay tuned over the next few weeks for announcements regarding this year's anthologies.  Cheers to a great 2026! Let us know in the comments how you celebrated and if you stayed up till midnight.

Pokemon Scarlet/Violet and Pokemon Z-A

It's been a while since my last blog about my special interest Pokémon games. In my last Pokémon-related post I said I'd talk about Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, so I will briefly go over that one before moving on to Pokémon Z-A. Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are "ADVENTURES WITH A SANDWICH-LOVING DRAGON MOUNT/BUDDY!" This game was also meant for the release of the Switch 2, so the graphic quality had to be reduced. Players complained about the quality of the graphics, brilliant glitc
