Weekly Wrap Up (May 26 - Jun. 1)

I now know why I was so giddy last week. The fact is I think that @Valkyrie is the reason why   See, she found this silly little web page all about otters, Called In Otter News. It is all about an otter named Steve and his friends  Some are actual pictures, other are cartons of him.   So every day the last couple of weeks, I check throughout the day and get my chuckles. So thanks for that Val  If it wasn't you, then I will retract my thank you and send to the correct person

Weekly Wrap Up (May 24 - May 30)

Well excusssssse me  Seriously, I need to apologize ahead of time. I've been on a wee bit of a vacation this past week and I wanted to take tonight off, so I can do some social distancing visiting with some friends. We will be 6 feet apart in his back yard with a fire pit between us. All of us are on the bit shy of meeting up, but as a group, we decided lets give this a try but practicing everything we can, which is a heck of a lot more that what I see others doing in the grocery stores

Weekly Wrap Up (May 23 - May 29)

Well hello happy campers . I know it is the Memorial Day long weekend in the US of A, and the Late Bank Holiday long weekend in the UK. Also if you live in Australia's Capital Territory, it is the Reconciliation Day long weekend for them. So did any of you get out camping? Do they call it camping in the UK and Australia? I know here we have trailers or recreational vehicles and tents to go camping, but don't you all call them caravans?  Oh wait, if you are out camping, you won't be here to

Wow, Renee takes the weekend off to be a mountain lady and she leaves me in charge of the Weekly Wrap Up. To top it off she changed the format on it too!!!   Well since Valkyrie was the only one to weigh in last week and said she had no preference of which format, I will use the old one   On Monday we had a Featured Story of Song and Dance by Headstall. LitLover did a very good review which sets up the story and will pique your interest to check it out.   Tuesday Renee did a Premium Promo

Weekly Wrap Up (May 21 - May 27)

Another week, another day, another hour  . I had a nice short week last week as in Canadia we had the Victoria Day Long Weekend last weekend, and I believe some 'mericans have the Memorial Day Long Weekend going on right now. I believe our friends back across the pond in the UK have this weekend as one of their Bank Holidays. Tomorrow I do believe the French have Whit Monday, I also think in the Australian Capital Region they have Reconciliation Day on Monday, but does the the rest of Australia

Weekly Wrap Up (May 19 - May 25)

Greetings and salutations from the GA Weekly Wrap Up   For some reason I am feeling giddy today, or maybe even ducky 🦆 ! Why, I have not a clue. My washing machined died on me this morning, and I don't think that should make be feel great. We had another thunderstorm today like the past few days, which I'm not a fan of (look at someone's anthology entries  ). And I went out to dinner tonight and my medium rare steak came out on the well done side. I'm not the guy to make a big deal and send

Weekly Wrap Up (May 19 - May 25)

Well I'm back A big thank you to Renee for stepping in last week whilst I was enjoying the Victoria Day Long Weekend. I know our American cousins are enjoying their Memorial Day Long Weekend this weekend. And correct me if I'm wrong, it is U.K. Spring Bank Holiday. So a lot of people enjoying either a short week last week or this week Before I forget, our list of Reader Recommended stories are nearly done. If you have read a story recently, in the past, or in the midst and it is finished,

Bettlejuice, Bettlejuice, Beetlejuic................... Whoops, just about said it 3 times  So this is the Victoria Day long weekend up here in Canadia and in my little neck of the woods, although we consider this is as the official kick off to summer, we are getting rain and snow  So how about my fellow Canucks? How are you making out? And to our 'merican neighbours to the south, any big plans for your upcoming Memorial Day long weekend next week? I know I have to check every year with a f

Weekly Wrap Up (May 15 - May 22)

Well, it's the end of the week and it's time to take a look at what happened in the various GA blogs this week. A quick reminder, if you're wanting to participate in the summer anthology, the deadline to get your submissions to the proof team is this coming Thursday. I look forward to seeing what everyone comes up with for the theme "Wicked Games". Also, I'm trying out a new format for the weekly wrap up, so let me know what you think!         Anthology Announcements:   ***NO

Weekly Wrap Up (May 15 - May 21)

Not much to say this weekend, so we will go with the facts, just the facts ma'am  Well, I guess I can ask since in Canadia and other Commonwealth countries I do believe this is a long weekend, any plans? Kick off summer bbq's or parties? I know the US of A has theirs next weekend which is much smarter. One more week for things to warm up  So what are the plans next weekend for all my American friends? Jumping right in, Monday was an announcement by Cia of our new Classic Author Feature:

Weekly Wrap Up (May 14 - May 20)

For some reason today I am giddy  Not sure why. Maybe you can think up a reason why Steve is giddy today. Let me know? Here is a straw poll, with just over two months to go until the publishing of the Secret Author Contest, who thinks they will write one? WAIT. Full stop, it won't be a secret if you tell everyone here that you will be writing. Unless you are up to trickery and have no plans to write and post that you are going to write. It was pretty quiet this week on the GA News Blo

Weekly Wrap Up (May 12 - May 18)

I can't decide where to start tonight  I had an idea, an overused idea, then when thinking of that idea, I had another idea. So I have 1 new and 1 old idea. Do you have any idea how happy I am   So new idea, I know a lot of stories get written here and a lot are incomplete and a lot more are complete. So here is my question, I will limit it to 3 stories. What stories would you call out to have a sequel or to continue on, ending from the final chapter? Let us know the Author, the story and t

Weekly Wrap Up (May 12 - May 18)

Wow. It's been a while since I've done one of these, but Steve is away for the weekend and asked if I could take care of it. Of course! Between not feeling the greatest the last couple of days and not having done it in a while, let's hope I remember how! So, let's take a look at what we had this week.     And don't forget to check out Myr's post about the recent update! Weekly Wrap Up (May 10 - May 16)

Sorry Myr, I'm going to takeover the word of the day and give a new one for the overnight period of Saturday into Sunday morning. Now it isn't glamourous and I"m sure that many of you have used it a lot in the last while. Bored. Yep, plain old bored. It is a long weekend here in the Great White North, as I'm sure it is in most of the Commonwealth as we celebrate Queen Victoria's Birthday. What that means is a Monday off for a 3 day weekend for some, even longer if you haven't bee

Hi Everyone, a little late today as I was sleeping on the job Renee has taken some much deserved time off and will be back later.   This week in the GA News Blog we had a couple of different posters.   Monday started off the week with Cia announcing the May CSR Feature, London and Love By Carringtonrj. The invite is out to all to read and then review and discuss this 45K story later on in the month. Make sure to add it to your reading lists for this month.   Wednesday, I made a special ap

What a week it has been! We had May 1st, 4th and 5th all wrapped within the week! So before I get into N'Sync (as I was so rudely corrected about), May the Force, and Cinco De Mayo, I want to announce that spring has finally showed it's face where I live. The trees are budding, the flowers are popping up out of the ground, the bunnies are hopping around, the skunks are tooting . Also rain predicted for the rest of the week. Well, it is nice to finally catch up to most of you in the North America

So, don't tell anyone  but I think Renee missed her hour of sleep this week  . This makes less work for me, and gives me something to tease her about  . I do have to admit that I don't have a lil' one under that age of 1 that I'm tending to day in and day out, so I guess I shall forgive her  Why don't we all share our love  .   On a more sad note, we have members in New Zealand that we should share our love with too  .   Monday, Renee introduced us to another featured story

So, what is new in your neck of the woods ? I guess we all are being impacted no matter where we are in the world by the COVID-19 pandemic. Looking at the status updates on site, many if not all of you have had some disruption of our normal day to day lives. I did a search, and ended up in Wikipedia, and according to them (not to be construed as 100% factual) that the last pandemic that rolled across our planet was the HIV AIDS one, and one we are living with, and IMHO, started to win final

First off, a PSA on behalf of the World Time Federation (WTF)  If you live in any of the regions that observes Daylight Savings, it kicked in last night. So if you are late to everything today, don't say I didn't warn ya Well, I'm shocked, shocked I say. I looked out my window today and there was a tiny little white bunny rabbit frolicking around the courtyard. I honestly believe it was the Easter Bunny's scout checking out places for when the big guy (or gal) comes in a few weeks to leave
