The magic letter for the week is "c" - as in Cia and comicfan!   We started off with a wonderful review by joann414 of Cia's newest complete story: Burden of Secrets. As joann says about the story, "I was enthralled with the story from the get go. Cia writes in a way that always makes me take sides when it comes to her characters".   For Wednesday, we had a great blog article on "Leaving Reviews" - that I basically stole borrowed from comicfan. Based on the comments, looks like it was a grea

ANNOUNCEMENT: We've heard your requests for more "Likes" and everyone has now had their ability to like content increased per day. To balance this, an author now needs a slightly higher reputation to have their stories no longer subject to the moderation queue.   We started our week with a great review by Daithi of Hosted Author Lugh's Binding. Binding is a Premium Content story, and we additionally talked about how Premium memberships help GayAuthors.org. Even being only available in Premium,

GayAuthors.org has been here for over ten years, with so many wonderful authors calling this site home. There are other gay fiction story sites, and great authors elsewhere on the web (GASP - I know, shocking, but true). So recently when TheEggman started logging in and posting his fantastic story, A New Life, I was very excited. joann414 also was happy, as you can tell from her great review of this story, that we ran on Monday.   On Wednesday, we had new GA.Stories site help advice with a pos

The week started off on a great note with a review by Wicked Witch of Promising Author JMH's The Centurion Cycle.   Wednesday, we had a great (and timely) article by Andrew_Q_Gordon on So you wanna be an Author - hope you took marketing classes. He's baaacccckkk! Heh - this is my first Weekly Update in seven weeks, but as I mentioned in our Wednesday blog, I've been able to use this time to deal with a number of things and now that I have a handle on my offline life, I can put in a bit more time to this wonderful online community.   So - what has been happening around here? Well, as is usual for the last Monday of the month, we had the Discussion Day for our Can't Stop Reading book club, where May's reads were four Reader's Choice A

Are you having a good weekend? I intend to spend mine relaxing and writing! I might even fit in an answer to one of this week's prompts! Or maybe I'll read some of this week's updates from our Hosted and Promising Authors.   Running Far Afield by Libby Drew was our featured story on Monday. This 17k short story was reviewed by Fishwings. A huge fan of hers, he had this to say: I was more than just pleasantly surprised. “Running Far Afield” proved to be one of the best stories I have come acro

Once again from yours truly... a look back at this week on Gay Authors!   This week's blogs started with a review by Wicked Witch of The Rider's Pride by dkstories. This novel length story is a fanfiction of McCaffrey's Dragonriders of Pern stories. Dan did a great job creating a story in much the same manner of the original work; Wicked Witch called it a "superb piece of fanfiction". As a fan of the series since I was a girl, I have to agree!   Wednesday brought something a little differen

Well - I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaacccccccccckkK!     I want to thank everyone for their well wishes while I was in the hospital. I'm home now, and loving that part, but still isolated to the bedroom because of immuno-suppression. Right now, physically I feel great, but as my sister's cells finish grafting and producing new blood cells, especially white ones, I have to keep isolated and constantly washing hands, being careful, etc. But on the good side, I have my laptop, and can f
