Weekly Wrap Up (Dec. 8 - Dec. 14)

So who is counting days?  Only 10 days to the start of Chanukah!!!   Oh. Looking at my calendar it appears that is the same day that is Christmas  this year. If I missed a holiday, let me know. I will put in a mention for Festivus as it seems to have made it onto the North American calendar too! Once again, I apologize if you are not into the whole seasonal talk. You can skip down to the recap  if you want. I will be tackling another Christmas topic now. Last week we tal

Weekly Wrap Up (Dec. 1 - Dec. 7)

"All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth, my two front teeth..." Does anyone remember this classic Christmas tune? How about some others like Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer, or even the classic Kevin Bloody Wilson song,  . I worked decades in a retail chain and in those decades, after Remembrance Day on November 11 you got 24/7 Christmas songs on the speaker system. I think that is when I developed a dislike for traditional Christmas music   I did develop a

Weekly Wrap Up (Nov. 24 - Nov. 30)

I hope all our American cousins had a great Thanksgiving weekend 🦃 . It is always nice to get together with family and friends over a big feast if you are lucky enough to do so. For those that didn't, we are thinking about you too  Even though I'm not down south of the 49th, I must have been personally feeling everyone's thoughts as I found myself not only undoing one, but yes two of the buttons on my 501's Thursday evening .  Being a late Thanksgiving this year meant that I was able to get

Weekly Wrap Up (Nov. 17 - Nov. 23)

Steve has climbed into his cave and don't wake him up until the end of April.  I think it it is @Slytherin's turn to stay awake this winter   That bear just happens to be the colour of outdoors.  We got dumped on the past week. No road lanes, no sidewalks, no nothing. All buried in snow. It is beautiful if you don't need to go out into it  Also, the temperature dropped into the minus celsius without windchill  Winter is here, I hereby declare. May you all share the wonder of it

Weekly Wrap Up (Nov.3 - Nov. 9)

Or            No matter who you prefer, Daffy or Sylvester, they both have what's on my mind! I'm at a loss on what to expect of late. Snow one day and cold temps for 3 or 4 days, then mild summer days (20 C) the next few. Rinse, Repeat and carry on. Luckily the snow tires are on! So, tell me how beautiful it is where you are. Tell me it is sunny and 80 in Florida, or California! Let me dream   Speaking of which, the past two winters I escaped in January to Hawaii. This year,

Weekly Wrap Up (Oct. 27 - Nov. 2)

I do this every year at this time  So, if you are in a area that falls back, you can prove to Cher that you really can turn back time   If you missed turning back, you can go back to bed for an hour. I'll let you  Heck, even if your clock didn't turn back, go back to bed for an hour ! After watching the video though, you might want to watch the Village People singing In the Navy  Who's your favourite sailor ⛵  I am not going to ask anyone about your thoughts of time changes, as th

Weekly Wrap Up (Oct. 20 - Oct. 26)

Sadly I have to admit, Monday was the first day of the fall that it happened  As much as it pains me to admit, I'm going have to use the 4 letter s-word... It was a beautiful weekend but around 9 AM things went downhill. By the next day it was gone, but still not the warmest it has been.  Now I learned back when I was a wee child, if you are at a loss for words you could always bring up, 'How's the weather?', or 'What to you think of this weather?' Because it is late at night even in

Weekly Wrap Up (Oct. 13 - Oct. 19)

Okay, how was your week? Mine kind of sucked, but there is not much to do about it.  So here is what I thought I'd ask. We always hear to control what is in your control and to not fret over for what you don't control. The way I read this is there is a lot of things in the world out of our control, but when negative things happen that are not in our control, it is what you do after that you can make the decisions and control the eventual outcome   Now if I didn't lose you already with

Weekly Wrap Up (Oct. 6 - Oct. 12)

So what did you get up to this week? Once again, my heart goes out to everyone trying to recover from Helene, and now a whole bunch more people dealing with the aftermath of Milton   Now not sure if you know, but there is a lot of exploding going on the surface of the sun. What that means is that the northern US and all of Canada and even Great Britain and Scandinavia are having some pretty spectacular viewing of the Northern Lights (Not to be confused with Steve ). Everyday I see pict

Weekly Wrap Up (Sept. 29 - Oct. 5)

Well it finally happened   After several nights of the temperature dipping down to just above 0C/32F, and me going to bed a bit hotish () in the evening and waking up shivering, I think I got the start of the first cold of the season. Well, not a full blown one. Today was a day that was focused on wearing a couple of layers of sweatpants and sweatshirts and some wool socks. Also my eyeballs are floating a bit with all the water I have drank. The throat isn't that sore anymore, so I might ge

Weekly Wrap Up (Sept .22 - Sept. 28)

Depending on where you live, how many days do you have to get in your entries for the In Too Deep annual Anthology? Calling on Poets, Authors, and even readers to get them in. So how many days do you have to the end of October 1st? 1 days 2 days Oh crap, still not too late but pushing it   I am just back from a relaxing week up in the mountains at the lake where I was having a nice, quiet birthday . I'm refreshed and rejuvenated, got a hair cut today as well. I was going to go f

Weekly Wrap Up (Sept. 15 - Sept. 21)

First thing first, I really need anyone who is thinking to enter our yearly Anthology, please see Val's Thursday blog and if you fingers haven't started typing, get them going! As you read this, I am indisposed. Read into that what you want . But I'm up by a lake in the mountains looking at the colours change for fall.  So next week in the northern hemisphere, we flip into fall, autumn, whatever you like to call it. Down under the equator, they are about to hit spring   What is y

Weekly Wrap Up (Sept. 8 - Sept. 14)

There went a Saturday without really realizing it   Saturday AM I thought I would see if there was anything interesting on Prime. I haven't been on in a while. After the other week of me saying I haven't finished some of the streaming shows that I have watched past seasons of, I saw that Season 2 of the The Rings of Power was out and streaming. The thing is, it was so long ago that I can't remember the Season 1 happenings  Don't worry, @Krista is keep a collection of retirement home pamphle

Weekly Wrap Up (Aug.25 - Aug. 31)

I know there is a thread going on what you are listening to now, and probably watching too! I haven't been watching or streaming too much of late. Maybe it has to do with the summer. I have Apple, Disney+, Netflix, Prime and Crave which is kind of like HBO for Canada. I got into a couple of series over the past few years and I've tried to get back into them, and just can't. Sweet Tooth and Cobra Kai.   So I'm curious, what series have you watched over the  past few years and dropped them li

Interesting question for you all, I think. Boxer or briefs ? No, not that one, I've asked that before. Also I know I would have to add in the granny panties option for one particular Author here at the site . Nope. This might cause some fighting  Are you a dog person, a cat person, both, or neither? I"ve never had a pet and I don't think I really want to ever own one to be honest. But it seems like I am judged for that opinion . So if you must judge me, go ahead, I have broad shoulders.

Weekly Wrap Up (Aug. 4 - Aug. 10)

Hmmm, what can all the gif's be about?  Quick straw poll, how do they say that? Gif as (g)if or (j)if? I've always been a (g)if person myself   So I survived camping, barely?  I sat down in a hammock and promptly fell over backwards and landed on my back on a tree root and knocked the wind out of myself. Still in quite a bit of pain (yes, I've seen a doctor and no broken ribs, just soft tissue damage in an awkward spot). Tore open the back of my calf on my one good leg and promptly got

Weekly Wrap Up (Jul. 28 - Aug. 3)

What’s up Buttercup? 😜 So I’m saying that to portray that I’m in a happy mood. I have been creating the wrap up all week with the plan of handing off to Myr on Saturday night for him to add the story list and publish. So the entire blog was done, ready to go. I just was putting in the last secret author entry, went to hit save, a pop up came up and asked me if I was sure. As normal, I didn’t read what I was doing and deleted the whole thing 😮 Happy thoughts, Steve. Happy thoughts   So

I’ve got a secret, secret, secret 🤫  No, I’m not going to sing all of Mr Roboto by Styx. That song was in my mind though when writing this. Go to YouTube if you don’t have a clue what I’m talking about 😀 The secret is out though, partially. Rather than doing the blogs in chronological order, let’s jump to Thursday where Cia kicked off the 1-a-day Secret Author contest. Now all you have to do is read, react, comment and then guess who you think the author is. No problem.  Being Sunday n

Weekly Wrap Up (Jul. 14 - Jul. 20)

It appears that I'm back in the here and now. So welcome me back   You may not know it, but a huge thank you to Cia for her help last week. She works in secret and mysterious ways! Speaking of which, make sure you check out the Thursday blog! The deadline is fast approaching to get in your Secret Author entries. Get them to Cia as she seems to be the only one that can keep a secret around here . Probably for the best. So in case you are wondering when the stories will release, I think it wo

Weekly Wrap Up (Jul. 7 - Jul. 13)

Welcome from the past   I've done it, I have traveled back to last Tuesday and did the Weekly Wrap Up!! Pretty neat, eh? Just so you know, I came back, but before I did I drank a lot of water. Tuesday and Wednesday were stupid hot in the city. I think you could fry an egg down at the Stampede grounds those days. At least we had some relief finally on Thursday with cooler temps and some storms. Now why did I travel back in time. I was listening to Cher belt out 'If I Turn Back Time' tod

Weekly Wrap Up (Jun. 30 - Jul 6.)

G'day all  Or is it actually Howdy y'all  Afterall it is my 10 days of fun with the Stampede in full force!! So I just had the pleasusre of being sandwiched into an LRT (above ground subway but not in the air) with probably 400 of my closest friends in a single car heading home from Stampede. No one needed to worry about hanging on to handles or bars, as nobody could move enough to fall over with lurching of the train on starts and stops. Then, to everyones extreme pleasure, someone deciided tha
