And we’re back!
In this series, random questions from GA members have been shot out to various authors here on GA. Those authors have the opportunity to either decline or answer, and the answers are just as quirky as the questions. This shall be a fun way to learn a little more about some of the folks here on GA.
In AtA #1, we had questions for authors furnishedsoul, podiumdavis, and CassieQ.
In AtA #2, we hear from Graeme, Andrew Todd, and Joann414 . For their p

In January Cia introduced us to the wonderful idea of the Can’t Stop Reading Book Club, and in January we got to read a story by Nephylim called Memories of Forgotten Love. Personally I thoroughly enjoyed the story, and it wa
It's that time again! Can't Stop Reading (CSR) Book Discussion Day! This month we are discussing Nowhere Man by Jwolf. This roughly 45,000 word modern story was published back in 2011 and was nominated on last month's discussion day by Percy. If you haven't read the story yet, please be aware the following review will have several spoilers, and several of the comments most likely will as well.
My review:
I hadn't read this story in a long, long time. So, in preparation for today I read i

Libby Drew has been great in providing us with content for the GA News Blog and continues to bring us some wonderful articles on the art of writing. I hope you all enjoy this lesson that she took the time to put together for us.
Less is More
That thing I say all the time, how less is more? It applies to your characters too.
Less detail makes for more believable characters.

As some might have noticed, I have taken a more active role in the GA News Blog. I will continue to do so while Robert (aka Trebs) is taking care of his health and wish him all the best in his recovery. With that being said, I don't know about anyone else, but I always enjoy having a story brought to my attention that I haven't yet read. That's what Monday's on the Gay Authors News Blog is all about. Whether it's as part of the CSR Book Club or whether it's in the form of a review. Today, we've

TGIF! Thank goodness it's Friday and we all know that means prompts! Check out this week's inspirations from our lovely prompt guru, Comicfan.
Prompt 210: As if things didn't go wrong normally, you were killed accidentally this morning when a bus driver swerved on a wet road to avoid a kitten and plowed right into the coffee shop where you were waiting to get your morning coffee. Instead of a trip to heaven or hell, you are met and told you are actually going to work as grim reaper. What is
Dark came to us a while ago about an idea he had to ask some of the authors here the questions that readers were wondering. We thought it was a great idea and will now be doing a once a month feature of Ask an Author. If you have a question that you have been wanting to ask an author and, for one reason or another, haven't already asked, let Dark know and maybe he'll be able to get that answer for you! Without further ado, let's look at the first feature of Ask an Author!

Monday's are a great day, not so much as they are the start of a new week but because it's the day we look at one of the stories here at Gay Authors. Maybe you have been looking for a new story to read? If so, why not read the following review provided by andy021278 of Eliotmoore's story Turbulence. After reading about the story, you can decide whether or not it's one you want to take a look at! Enjoy!

Personal Announcement: For those of you who have been following my health status, here is the short story version - I may be more absent from GA depending on my upcoming treatments. The best part of that though is a recent test confirms that I am IN REMISSION (ie, no current trace of Mantle Cell Lymphoma - so the chemo worked). My sister comes in later tonight for two weeks, the first week will be tests to confirm she's healthy enough to be a donor, then the second week to stimulate production o
I don't know about everyone else out there, but I always look forward to Fridays. Not just because its the start to the weekend, but because every Friday our resident prompt guru Comicfan brings us two new prompts! I couldn't tell you how many of these prompts I have started writing something for only to decide it needs to be continued. I have at least six prompts began on my computer. Maybe one these days I'll get them finished. Until then though, check out the new prompts and share them in the
Hi again readers! We had some great feedback and thoughts on last books kick off book club selection. I appreciate all of the time readers invested in participating. This month I've picked a selection from the suggestions made by commenters last month. As February is a short month, so the discussion will take place on February 25th. I truly hope we can continue to see success with the book club! Okay, on to this month's selection! Drumroll .........

I miss the old days! When, I was a kid at summer camp. The only possible question or one of two likely answers to any sentence that had kindle / kindling or rekindle in it, was and/or were:
Q - Got a match?
A 1 - Yes.
A 2 - No.
(To this day I still carry a match/lighter, just in case?)

Here in Central Massachusetts, the center of the universe, we are experiencing high temps along with an outrageous humidity index; the combined effect will have "feel-like" temps hitting the triple digits...lasting through the Fourth of July!

The concept of rekindle—the act of reviving a lost passion, a forgotten memory, or a dormant connection—is a powerful storytelling tool. It injects vital emotional stakes into a plot by forcing characters to confront their pasts, heal from trauma, or rediscover their core motivations, making the narrative deeply relatable and resonant.
Emotional Stakes and Character Arcs: Rekindling breathes life into stagnant or disillusioned characters. It acts as the bridge between a character's "before
Rekindle means to ignite or revive something (like a fire, passion, or relationship) anew. The word was formed in the late 16th century by combining the Latin derived prefix re- (meaning "again", "anew", or "back") with the verb kindle (meaning "to light a fire"). Initially, the word was used strictly in its literal sense of setting a physical fire back to life. However, its figurative use (to reawaken faded emotions, memories, or interests) has been popular since the late 1600s.
We've had timely rains this spring and June has not been too bad so far, but this coming week for my area is forecast to be toasty with temps 95F and above with heat indices in the triple digits through next weekend. The troubling part is that the overnight lows are to be near 80 F which doesn't provide much overnight cooling...AT least most of us have air conditioning and don't face what has happened in Europe this past week.
