Happy October! This month we have an epic-length story, so get ready to spend all your spare time reading in order to be ready to discuss Dayne Mora's Wolf Like Me on Halloween. See the theme? Well, there are no werewolves in the story (sorry!) but there might be some nibbling. You'll have to read the story to find out! Due to the length of the story, don't feel like you have to complete it to come comment. I will encourage anyone doing specific comments to the story to use the spoiler code.

by Dayne Mora

Length: 125,742

Description: Cory, 18 year-old walking Texas stereotype who swings both ways, comes to Virgina Tech to play football and hopefully be less of a closet case. There he finds a sophomore wide-receiver who likes to bite, a pretty boy pre-med with a talent for name calling, and a grad student with a big...chip on his shoulder. (Formerly "Efrain and Cory")

A Reader Said: This was such an amazing story! I've read everything, except the last four chapters, twice. Such great characters and depth, so good! I can't wait for the next book. Thank you. ~ blueirealand

This month's Discussion day will be on Monday, October 31st.

I started this story a while ago...not sure why I didn't finish it as I really enjoyed it.  I will have to make a point of finishing it now.  Congrats on the feature!

Perfect timing. I was telling Dayne that I'd started binge reading the story for the second time. Been smiling a lot while doing it. The characters are awesome and the writing's pretty darn good. Highly recommend it. You'll fall in love with Efrain and Cory.

I love this story! The main characters are all equally good, but certainly I have a favourite. I like the multiple POVs. Oh, and there is a sequel too!

I am glad so many of the active CSR readers/commenters have read this story and can participate! Just remember, and I'll remind everyone how to do it on the Discussion day, that any specific comments about the plot events should be hidden with the spoiler code. That way anyone who isn't completely done reading on the 31st still gets to enjoy the surprise of each chapter's events.

I've made it up to chapter 18, so just a few more to go... I think there was a delay or something and I got away from it... so much to read and so little time. What I've read so far is terrifically entertaining with some really magical moments. The characters are so well fleshed out with all their quirks and little(and big) dramas... and the wit displayed in Dayne's writing will keep a constant smile on your face. This story is an absolute gem, and I will work hard at getting it finished in time for the discussion. Cheers....

The dialogue in this story is some of the best and funniest I've ever read. And there were so many delightful expressions / sentences. After every chapter I looked forward to find out whiche one Graeme chose as his favorite.

Read it! This is such a great story! There may not be any werewolves, but you may find a Wolfie in there and he is awesome! The story is funny, sexy, moving and has smart characters who come alive on the page. That's one of my favorite things about reading it. I feel like I could be part of the action..

Cant wait for for the discussion.. Congrats on the feature Dayne!

Gosh, I'm so used to seeing Dayne's story as Wolf Like Me, that I forget it was once called Efrain and Cory.

What I really enjoy was seeing two side characters (Preston and Indie) become such vital parts to the story that Dayne changed the title accordingly. And it also lead to a great series title: E.P.I.C., very apropos for an epic story. :)

I first stumbled across this story at Nifty, and was more than pleased when it started posting here. It's one of the most enjoyable and memorable stories that I've read in recent years -- it's that good. It really stands out from the crowd and I hope having it featured this month will encourage another wave of fans.

It took me awhile to actually start reading again after the name change. I kept forgetting Dayne changed the name, and this is one I started reading on Nifty before he ever posted here. I thought Dayne had started a paranormal werewolf story

I've read the story twice and loved it both times. This is one of those stories that you can read over and over and it never gets old.
