Weekly Wrap Up (Mar. 2 - Mar. 8)

It is time for my bi-annual reminder to change your clocks if you are in a area that does that . This is the start of Daylight Savings Time, so that means we are springing forward and losing one hour of sleep. In preparation, I had a nice nap this afternoon :gikkle:

A question for you. I can't ask what age you are, as that is a no no in today's internets  so please don't supply it :o!! But I'm more curious when you retire, if you are retired, does the time switch mess you up? I know a lot of retired people have a set routine that they follow in order to carry on without havoc to their internal clocks, but I think of my dad who was all over the place on getting up at a certain time, and wondered if it affected retired people as much as maybe people that have a scheduled work week? I do know a lot of people work for themselves and they set their hours, so maybe they fit in the retired group too.

Now one important thingy to bring up before I forget. We only have 21 days before you Poetry Anthology is due :o. This years theme is Diversity! I'm curious to see how such a word of such vast interpretation is handled by our different poets. Experienced and not so experienced. We want to see them all!

Now onto the Wrap!

Monday, Cia had to get the ball rolling for Monday, with an all new Can't Stop Reading feature:

Then on Tuesday, Myr came in and dressed in his assless chaps (yes, I know all chaps are assless 0:)), he brought a Deep Dive:

We then took Wednesday as a day of rest until Val revved up her engines to get everyone going on the Poetry Anthology on Thursday:

Finally on Friday, Aditus brought us a couple of new Prompts. You need to write a letter to someone :P:

Finally Myr did his Myr thing and brought us seven new Words of the Day:

beleaguer, ornate, labyrinthine, heuristic, rejuvenate, solace, reticent

CET the same! Btw, it's much easier since we have smart phones and time is automatically changed. It was hell in the past when we had to do it manually! 🤪

My phone and the computer change time automatically, but I still have to adjust the clocks in the house!

To answer your question Steve, I'm a retiree and my body clock is off for a while after the time change.  I tend to go to sleep and wake up later than normal for several days, until I slowly adjust.

No problem for me at all...being retired every day is a holiday and when working I truly despised the time change...such a useless affectation...

I've been retired since 2007, so what I notice and appreciate is the extra daylight in the evening!

I didn't do anything to prepare.

I'm going to make a confession. For the last ten years, I have flatly refused to change time. I don't spring forward, I don't fall back. I stay the same no matter what the rest of your weirdos do. So I've been on this time zone now for a while. When everyone else thought it was 9am yesterday, I was on 10am time.

It gets a bit confusing for my friends and my husband, but I don't care. My guests at my restaurant were very confused when I opened at 11am my time and everyone else was mistakingly thinking it was noon. But after a month or so, people caught on and it's kind of a san francisco thing that I'm known as the restaurant out of time. It's weird and different just like me.
